Cricket Pavilion

I saw a concert here a couple of months ago. While the band was great, the venue good have been better. I was on the lawn and could not see anything because everyone was standing up and I couldn't see over them. They had huge video screens, but they didn't use them at all, so all I could see were tiny specks on the stage that I guess were supposed to be the band! Plus, it was the summer so it was excruciatingly hot throughout the night. If you go here, I definitely recommend getting a reserved seat so you can see better. Bring water, and consider bringing a hand-held fan because it is so hot!

The Cricket Pavilion is conviently located just west of downtown Phoenix. Despite its size, the Cricket Pavilion is an intimate venue to see a concert. However, most of the tours that go from outdoor amphitheater to outdoor amphitheater do so in the summer, when the heat in Phoenix can be stifling. Therefore, it seems that the Cricket can have some difficulty attracting top notch talent. Also, avoid the 300 level seating if at all possible, the seating is not raised enough considering that it is the primary walkway between the two sides of the venue, so more than likely you will constantly have people walking in front of you.
