Coolidge Park

The most outstanding thing about this park is the Carousel! It is a good old fashioned Carousel with Rabbits, horses and Tigers! It's giant and there are as many adults riding it as children. When your done run through the huge lawn down to the river. There is a path that follows the river all the way into the downtown if you cross over the bridge. There are lots of little shops, bakeries and restaurants all along the park as well, so you can pick something up if you forgot to pack a picnic or just need a snack.

This is a great place for the family to spend the day. They have huge fields perfect for just running or throwing a frisbee, a carousel that is covered in case of rain, a walking bridge that spans the river and playgrounds. There is also an area for local concerts or events. Very well kept and worth the time to come and spend the afternoon.

I love Coolidge Park, it's really unique. It's a nicer more "upscale" park. It has a beautiful carousel with hand-carved horses. They also have an area with large concrete animals that have water flowing from them in the warmer months. There's always children running through the water to cool off. The view at the park is nice as the park is located on the water. There's also several shops located just a few steps away from the park. The shops are really neat as most of them are locally-owned shops.

At Coolidge Park, there is fun for everyone. They have the magical carousel, the water park area for kids to splash in the summer, huge green fields to throw a ball or frisbee, areas for concerts, walking bridge..... This place keeps growing and is being done right. Don't miss this if you come to Chattanooga.
