Visiting my son and his family in Brooklyn, took the 4 & B to
Grand St., had a great time wandering around Chinatown.
Loved this store, had everything I needed and lots of great
cookware, teas and all kinds of seasonings. Enjoy.

This is one of the largest and well-known chinese grocery store in Chinatown. They sell everything from snacks, herbs, seafood, cured food, kitchenware, dried food. Their prices are reasonably priced compared to other grocery stores in chinatown. Located in busy Canal Street, it is especially crowded during weekends when the tourists are out shopping and especially during chinese new year.

This is THE main Chinese grocery store, the Sino-equivalent of Zabars. Instead of kitchen ware upstairs, theirs is downstairs. All the canned goods and dried foods, as well as fresh produce, meats and fish you need for making real Chinese cuisine.

PROS:
CONS: crowded and chaotic

This is one of the few bigger grocery stores in Chinatown, especially after Kam Kuo sadly closed its doors. They sell all types of food (Chinese of course), and then downstairs is the treasure, where they sell kitchenware. I love looking at the Japanese plates and bowls, and they also sell Chinese and some Korean dishware too. It's often very crowded, but conveniently located on Canal, not too far from the 6 and R train.

PROS: Love the dishware downstairs

This store has a wide selection of ceramics and pottery in the basement. I found the prices to be very reasonble. They have fine tea sets.

The food selection is good too and reasonably priced.
