i shopped here after i missed my train at the commerce metrolink station. i spent about 5 hours browsing through the various stores, while i waited for the 8pm shuttle to leave to the anaheim hotels (yes, they have such a shuttle!). i like their timex watch store b/c they have a huge selection! after browsing for a few minutes i found a cool sports watch & a cool watch for going out & both were reasonably priced.
as for the clothing outlets, well their quality is the reason i gave the place 3 stars. but then again, this was my first time shopping at outlets, so maybe i'm just used to the normal type of store. the gap is probably my favorite store to shop at whenever i go shopping but the one at citadel has ill-fitting clotes. the clothes you buy at the citadel's "the gap" don't have the same snug, slim-fit you get if you buy at the gap at the mall.
i'm pretty picky about the fit of the clothes i buy. after all, the fit (not the quality nor the brand) is everything.
also, the styles are kind of outdated. i think they have last season's styles b/c i'm up to date w/ the most current gap styles & they don't have them here. i think this is the trade-off you get w/ the "higher end" stores: you get brand-name clothing, but not the latest or best-fitting. "lower end" stores, like H&M, though have the same selection you'd find at the mall.
i must admit though that i only shopped for male clothing. perhaps women will have better luck finding "cute" outfits. shopping at the citadel is a lot like shopping at ross, except that you get a greater selection & the clothing is better organized & in better condition. well, let's just say the clothing's new but you get the drawbacks i mentioned above
if you care mostly about brand-names (instead of the fit), this is the place for you. they have lots of quality brands: the gap, banana republic, guess, calvin klein, to name a few. there is no abercrombie & fitch though :( lots of the employees are jerks though, especially at ed hardy. stay away from there! that's a dying, expensive, ill-fitting brand w/ terrible employees: bunch of teens chatting amongst themselves thinking they're better than everyone else, even though they probably live in the east l.a. barrio!
there are lots of foreigners shopping here. i saw lots of middle-eastern people & also the mexican rugby team (go figure). i'm not saying that's a bad thing, but this will give you an idea of what the people who shop here mostly care about: the brand-names.

I've tried to shop here several times and have given up. Store selection is not nearly as good as other outlets, and I haven't found any particular bargains. Since they've added more stores they've moved the parking areas and it takes forever to walk from your car. Some of the stores need to improve customer service too, both in acknowledging customers and being able to discuss the products they sell.

PROS: Only outlet in area
CONS: Parking, Store Selection, Prices, Customer Service

Even when they opened up new stores, its still not as good as oulets such as Cabazon or Camarillo. They could use more brand names. Its not bad for not having to drive 1-2hrs. Ever once in a while you can find some great deals.

PROS: Close
CONS: No brand names. Needs more stores

Citadel used to be small but they're adding more stores now. Although they still won't have all the stores that the other outlets have, you'll have a lot more to choose from.

I stopped at the Citadel about two years ago after having driven past it several times. Compared to the many factory outlets I've been to around the southland and Las Vegas, I thought this place was a dud
Parking is inadequate and other than Old Navy which has ridiculously long lines there is not much there.
The only thing going for it is that it is located nearby rather than out in the middle of nowhere such as Ontario Mills.
