I was so excited to get my keys to my new apartment... to discover shortly thereafter that I would have event after event. Mold, bugs including huge spiders, leaking air units, which are in the closets.. WHY???? My bathroom outlets don't work.. under the sink is puckered fake wood..and not to mention the MOLD.. my shower was molded.. to date it isn't fixed.. I did call Anne Arundel Department of Health.. but can you believe that after I provided pictures of all the gross things in my unit.. I have not heard from DREYFUSS at all.. I esteemed them very high.. based on the Apartments that they had in Montgomery County.. Anyone would think that this is a STEAL.. all utilitities included, washer and dryer.. 2 baths.. it is great.. however..the maintenance and follow up SUCK.. The Property Manager is WHACK.. and she doesn't care really what is going on..their integrity is zero.. I was referred by a wonderful co-worker who is thoroughly embarrassed by the trials and tribulations I have experienced as a result of moving in.. and yes.. my 300 dollar deposit, turned to 600 and eventually escalated to over 1400..so, yeah..they make it happen, then leave you hanging.. I wish I could afford to get an AIR QUALITY CHECK.. they would have to rip the entire building...trust me..it is a MOLD FEST UP IN THERE.. I am just waiting patiently.. in time.. it will all be over.. and they will have to answer to their lack of concern..

I moved from out of state due to my job and had to find an apartment fast. I visited several apartments in one day and the last one I visited was Ashley Apartments. I like the spacious floor plan, but felt that the rent was a little too high-but being a single female I thought the area seemed safe and close to major highways. Boy was I wrong for signing that lease....the leasing consultant told me that my deposit was going to be $300 and then the day before I was set to move in, she called and said she needed an additional $300. Of course I paid it because I was moving in 24 hours! We are now in August and my apartment has become infested with these flying bugs that look like lady bugs! I'm super clean, mop and wipe my counter tops down everyday...I clean my dishes after every meal. I've had the exterminator come out three times in the past two months and nothing helps. As far as the rental staff goes, they are so trashy! The ONLY professional and genuinely nice lease consultant is Brandon. He is a sweetheart..the rest of them are crooks. They have new managers that came in about a month ago and whenever you go into the office they look at you like you're crazy and don't speak. Not when I'm paying $1400 for a 1 bdr!!! The least you can do is be cordial. To sum it up, you can find other apartments that a cheaper, cleaner and have a nice office staff. I am running out of here when my lease is up! This place SUCKS!

I moved from out of state due to my job and had to find an apartment fast. I visited several apartments in one day and the last one I visited was Ashley Apartments. I like the spacious floor plan, but felt that the rent was a little too high-but being a single female I thought the area seemed safe and close to major highways. Boy was I wrong for signing that lease....the leasing consultant told me that my deposit was going to be $300 and then the day before I was set to move in, she called and said she needed an additional $300. Of course I paid it because I was moving in 24 hours! We are now in August and my apartment has become infested with these flying bugs that look like lady bugs! I moved in over a month ago to a two bedroom two bath. Very quiet, nice area. The apartment they gave my husband and I was said to be newly renovated. Well, who ever they hired to renovate it must have been a half blind man (nothing against the handicap), but everything in the apartment as fixture wise is crooked. The so called walkin closets are a mess, my husband had to reinforce the racks they have to hang the clothes on. The first time we tried to hang our clothes up the entire thing collapsed. The paint job on the moldings is sloppy, either extra paint running everywhere on everything, or not enough, and they left bald spots everywhere around the molding. By the way we did clean all the extra paint off the kitchen cabinets and the floors. Paint all over the edges of the wax pretend wood floors. If I wanted to write a story on the crooked house, this would be it. But, that does not beat all. I had no rack in the freezer part of the refrigerator to separate the ice trays from the food, and no broiler pan under the oven. I sent in a request and it is now December 15, remind you I moved in November 11, and this has not been taken care of. I call the office and they told me that the things my apartment should have came with; was in. It has been 2 days later and they have not as yet placed it in the apartment, so I called maintenance to inquire about when they would place the fixtures in the aparmtnet. They ask me to put in another work order to find out when maintenane would do this. I refuse thinking it would delay the 1st order. I call back to the office and they told me that it maybe put in before Xmas or it may not. Now something is wrong with this picture. Why not give me and my husband the fixtures and eliminate who ever they hired to do the work, and it takes all of this time to get it done. We want charge anything because it is too simple of a task to charge for this. You can bet that anything we can do to keep our apartment repaired we will do it ourselves. The work that maintenance does is piss poor nex t to none. Even the toilet seats or crooked. Unless my apartment floods from something that they are absolutely responsible for maintaining, we want be calling them again. (Oh by the way we waited over a month to receive our mail box keys, the office suggested that the postman give them our mail and maintenance would put it in our apartment. First of all that is a long time not to receive your mailbox key. Second, if maintenance is not competent enough to do their own job, why would I want them putting my mail in my apartment. So they can tell me, (Oh we took the mail out of your box but it will be another month before we can place it in your apartment, as if I even trust maintenance to be handling my personal business. But my question is why take a nice living environment and ruin it. Maybe they should sell out for condos, the structure of the buildings are excellent. Can't wait to find a nice home to buy, we sold our home to move closer to our church in Baltimore. Thanks a lot Ashley Apartments.

-Leaky pipes and faucets
-Broken dishwasher
-Mold (EVERYWHERE)
-Poor A/C
-Tub resurfacing
-Closet Panel (due to pipes)
Having unskilled handymen means your repairs aren't really being repaired, just a temporary fix.

I filed a complaint with the Attorney General and am waiting to hear back from the Dept. of Health. I sent a letter to Dreyfuss and the comlaint and all the pictures I have.

Don't Do It, if you are contemplating moving here.

First off, my Ashley Apartment is wonderful. However maintenance and up keep of the property grounds itself is lacking. I have placed service calls for basic up-keep of my building (i.e., lights, trash-removal, mopping- ground floor-stairs, landscape and ground maintenance) and have received an prompt email work order stating that the request has been completed, only to see the work half-done or go uncompleted for weeks. Even after having the assurance from the management staff to follow-up to make sure the work is completed. I like see an improvement in the area, otherwise the area is quiet and wonderful.

The apartment is wonderful. Getting the apartment was a nightmare. The office staff is not professional, they lie. I documented every little problem I had moving in and sent a letter to Dreyfus management. I had a meeting with the office manager and they were still full of lies but at the end I had documented everything and was happy with the compromise. My neighbors are so nice and there are no parties, I can only speak for my building. I would recommend an apartment closer to the front. Maintenance can do a sloppy job. We have no bug problem, again I can only speak for my building. I am glad that I have not had any dealings with the office staff since I have moved in. I love my apartment!

I visited Ashley apartment and toured the property and decided it was the place for me, I was told I was going to get a designers series and I could move in two weeks, but decided to move at the beginning of the month .On the day before my move in date given to me, I received a call saying all was fine and to confirming my move in , so I called to find out what time to pick up me key to find out the apartment was completely gutted no cabinets counter tops I was mad had rental truck waiting and was offered to move into another place and pay $ 100 more long story short you will be promised a lot but delivered nothing and lost a lot of money in the process so stay away.

I have been living in Ashley Apartments for over 4 years. The apartments are very spacious and are located in a very quiet neighborhood. All utilities are included in the rent and if maintenance are very helpful in fixing anything that goes wrong. The apartments are in a great location. You are about 2 miles from BWI Parkway and 1 mile from the shopping center. There is a Walmart, Sams Club, Target, several groceries stores: Weis, Shoppers etc. Great apartment complex.

The leasing staff here will give you the run around and lie to you. Yes, all utilities are included and yes the apartments are spacious, but if you want great customer service this is not the place. Do not expect you move to go smoothly and once in there do not expect anything to be fixed anytime soon.

We've lived at Ashley for a year and a half and have had our share of problems, but have had a good experience as well. It is not the safest neighborhood, and there is no police patrol, so there have been car vandalisms and other loitering problems.
