If you choose her as your doctor, you made a bad mistake. The day she tells you what gender your baby is, she also tells you that something is wrong with your baby... she can not see or hear the heart, maybe your baby has spots in the brain... she scares you so badly that you really believe that you have to make the amniocenteses! And if you say that you could come back another day, she totally cuts you short - no chance... and she is not willing to do so.... And she just gives you a few hours or maybe a weekend to think of it because after that it would be too late to make an abortion.. very clever Mrs Stanco! So she makes a lot of money in a few minutes... you have the risk, because you have to sign all the papers and you are scared and truly think that something could be wrong with your little one you love so much. Go to another doctor and trust me- all the nice reviews that were written about her are fake... Mrs Stanco! See how far you are morally degenerated! I really don't know why you can call yourself a doctor!

I am pregnant with my third baby and I would NOT have anyone but Dr. Stanco deliver this baby. She delivered my other two kids and she was wonderful. She is kind and patient and her staff treated me very well too. The same staff has been with her since I had my first baby almost 4 years ago, and I am sure ling before that. Clearly they like working with her and I think that says a lot. I tell all my pregnant friends to go to her. She is an expert in her field and always has done what is best for me and the baby. I trust her completely. I am dumbfounded by the bad reviews, I can only assume the people who wrote them have some kind of personality flaw, or are just very confused about obstetrics.

Thanks to Dr Stanco, I have an amazing baby girl! I saw Dr Stanco personally at all of my scheduled OB visits (not just a nurse). She was exceptionally knowledgeable and always made time to answer any questions. It was obvious that she runs a busy office, but I always felt like she knew me personally. She's not there to be a best friend, she's there to be the best OB doctor - and she is! Also, many of the nurses I talked to at Sharp said they always recommend their pregnant friends to Dr Stanco - I think that says alot too!

Dr. Stanco has been a WONDERFUL doctor - I am shocked to see the bad reviews - are we talking about the same person here??? a straight shooter, no nonsense, dr. I saw here every visit up to week 32 (I liked that, some of my friends saw nurses more than their Dr) then she hired a [also very competent] NP to help out due to the office being very busy); I also got an ultra sound every visit up to wk 30 which I loved (some of my friends got 1 u/s the while pregnancy so I appreciated seeing my baby so often), most of all I felt that she was very knowledgeable and competent.

Read these reviews carefully. I wish I had! I had not experienced any real problems with her until I had my baby. I wish I had changed doctors when I read these reviews only a couple of days before having my baby. I am not going to go into details about my particular situation but heed these warnings. Find a new doctor unless you want to be seriously demeaned, verbally and physically abused and traumatized!!! She is a witch of a doctor and should not be practicing!!!

Dr. Stanco was awesome through my entire pregnancy til' the end. At the end my water broke and I went into triage...they sent me home. Because of this I went an entire week with my water broken leaking amniotic fluid. I called multiple times telling them that I was soaking pads (a whole pack in one day) and they did nothing. I developed an infection and my baby had to spend his first few weeks in NICU because of this. I also had to have an emergency C-section because of this. I also told her when I first started that I had sleep Apnea and asked her if it could be dangerous to my baby. She said it couldn't be dangerous and brushed it aside. After my C-section a nurse gave me morphine (a drug that needs to be carefully monitored when given to someone who has sleep apnea) and becasue the nurse didn't know I had sleep apnea she overdosed me and I coded. I would have died if my husband hadn't noticed that I wasn't breathing that night. Dr. Stanco then claimed that I had never told her that I had sleep apnea and avoided me the rest of my hospital stay. I was also treated very rudely by the nursing staff when I tried to ask for Dr. Stanco. She also never contacted me for a follow up postnatal check up.

A One Star doctor - Ask your friends for referrals to other doctors. They are going to be your best resource. Did not have a good experience.

If you are looking for a high risk OB who knows her stuff, Dr Stanco is the one for you. I am so happy she was my Dr. The day I met her, I was crying because I was vomiting all the time and I needed help-my first pregnancy. She was very compassionate and to cheer me up, she took me to have my ultrasound--what she suspected was true--TWINS!! Being a NICU nurse, she knew I was going to worry more, knowing all the potential problems--but she was very strait forward and to the point. If you ask questions, she will answer them honestly and from her experience. She did my 2 anmios and I felt completely safe in her hands. I had a c-sec early at 34.4 weeks, in the middle of the night and she came smiling and pleasant. My scar is barely visible and she came to check on me several times--and was very understanding about me worrying about my boys who were in the NICU. If you are looking for a someone who has time to chat and hold your hand, find a friend, but if you are looking for a DR who knows her stuff, Dr Stanco is top of the line. I am now pregnant again, but unfortunatley moved. Trust her and you and your baby will be well taken care of.!

Dr Stanco is great - I can't understand the bad reviews I have read! Unfortunately I had to move out of state in my 7th month but Dr Stanco and all the nurses were so wonderful up until I left, I wish she could have been my doctor for the birth also! Even out of state I would call with questions until I had a new doctor and they were always so helpful - Thank you!

My first experience with Dr. Stanco was not a good one. She was upset with me for not calling 4 hours earlier when I had not felt my son kick (I was 7 months & an extremely high risk patient). I took it personally and was upset with her and then she explained to me --that a) I need to call as soon as I feel as though something is wrong(which I didn't) b) it was raining and I drove myself c) it was a weekend and 2am and this is when most accidents occur. It's common sense & she wanted me to know that I putting myself and my child at risk by not coming in earlier...
She helped deliver both of my sons and was nothing short of awesome! She came in to see me everyday and when my doctor couldn't see me--and I had a question--she answered it. No, she is not going to hold your hand unless you tell you need her to--if you have questions ask! She can't read your mind--so ask questions! I have recommended her to friends and everyone so far has had a positive experience. She put me at ease & I felt totally safe with her!

I absolutely loved having Dr. Stanco as my OB. She always answered my questions thoroughly. I personally like a doctor who knows exactly what they are doing. I don't care if my doctor holds my hand what I needed was and expert and that is exactly what she is. I completely trusted her. I couldn't have asked for a better doctor throughout my pregnancy and for my delivery. It makes me sad to read the negative comments on this board about her. She is so good at what she does and in my opinion, that is what truly matters.

Here's how my labor went:
I got to the hospital and everything was fine. My water had broken and things were progressing nicely. Well, Dr. Stanco arrived and put me on pitocin. She mentioned something about having a party going on at her house that she wanted to get back to. It made me feel like she wanted me to hurry up and have my baby. She wasn't in the room for the baby that was coming down the tunnel, only after the baby had crowned...(now i've heard that this is the case with MOST doctors). Well as a result of the baby that came out very quickly I tore and Dr. Stanco had to sow me up. Everything was fine, until my epidural wore off.
I have spent the following 2 weeks in so much pain that I was literally screaming. Dr. Stanco did try to help me and even called to check on me during the weekend, which I appreciated very much.
You know, I am sure that Dr. Stanco is probably very good with high risk patients because she is a non-emotional no nonsense doctor. I would definitely return to her if I had a high-risk pregnancy.
I think if my pregnancy is normal though I will go and see someone else and will ask a lot of questions. I think there are some things I would like done differently next time, if possible.
Overall Dr. Stanco and her staff are very professional. I appreciate what they did for me and I do recommend her if you are high risk. Dr. Stanco did not stay with me in the delivery room which I would like from a doctor for next time. Just keep in mind most doctors do not do this and you need to ASK QUESTIONS.
Furthermore: What sucks is Dr. Stanco is a part of Mary Birch. I hated being at that hospital. I had a horrible post-birth experience there. I was in so much pain and the nurses did not believe me and I kept begging for medication, but they would give me dirty looks. I was bleeding all over the floor/bathroom and they brought in a roommate to share my bathroom with blood everywhere. SO UNCOMFORTABLE I had to leave the hospital the first day in EXTREME PAIN. Do not use that hospital. If you want a comfortable birthing experience DO NOT USE Mary Birch. I 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM.

Instead to help you and find what is the most important for you when you deliver baby she goes by the most expensive ways so she can make more money. Avoid by all means total butcher.

Dr Stanco is one of the most thorough and compassionate Dr's I have ever had the priveledge to know. Anyone who claims to have had a negative experience with her has either had the misfortune of having a bad experience due to events out of anyone's control (with Dr Stanco caring for her and was by association perceived as negative) or is a complete idiot. Dr Stanco will absolutely treat you with the respect you deserve. I am apalled that people will spew their hatred and ignorance in a public review when I'm fairly sure their perception of what happened is distorted or just plain wrong. I would absolutely trust my and my baby's life in her hands. If you want some touchy-feely but incompetent doctor, go ahead and see someone else. For my money, I'll choose Dr Stanco every time.

I recently switched from my regular Ob-Gyn to Dr. Stanco. I was referred by a number of moms who sang her praises, and so far I feel their assessment was correct. She was very nice as well as very thorough. As a high-risk mom due to several factors including having a twin pregnancy and a previous pre-term birth, I want the most knowlegable and experienced professionals to care for my babies. Where my other doctor was lax and (I felt) overly reassuring, Dr. Stanco gave me the facts without scaring me. She told me what I might expect and helped me prepare for possible bed rest etc. My previous dr didn't even mention it until I asked. I am very happy with Dr. Stanco. If you are a high risk mom, I think you would do well with her. She offers conservative management. Better safe than sorry!
UPDATE 12-08
Just wanted to update you all about my experience with Dr. Stanco. My twins arrived at just under 34 weeks after 3 months of bedrest and careful monitoring by Dr. Stanco. I credit her in large part for the health of my girls born 5lbs 3oz and 4lbs 2oz and only 1 month in the NICU feeding and growing. I could not recommend her more highly!

Dr. Stanco delivered my 2 kids via C-section in 2004 and 2007. i have not encountered any problems with her. she is cordial and knowledgeable in her field. i understand some complaints about her being not touchy and cuddly with the patients but i can;t complain myself as i am not the kind of person who likes that attention. her bedside manners are appropriate and sufficient in my opinion. she's not insensitive at all. she answers any questions i have throughout my pregnancy. the reason i had a c section was that my frist child was breach. then i had elected c section for the first one. she also does very good job on both surgeries. my c section incison scar is not so noticeable and not so big. and she has her own ultrasound in her office so you do not have to go to a diff. bldg for that, it;s very convenient. sha also personally attends whenever i have a sonogram and makes sure i'm comfortable with any procedures that is being done. i live in north county of san diego and it's a 45 minute drive from the doctor's office and sharp mary birch but i still decided that she is the one whom i like to take care of me while pregnant and to deliver my babies. and when i got pregnant the second time, i still drove the 45 min. drive to get to her.that's how loyal i am to her..haha.. only because i got a very very good experience with her the first time. she is that efficient in her profession.

I'm not surprised at some of the poor reviews here. Some people really want to have their hand held and be babied through things. If you need coddling and don't want to hear the truth, don't go to Dr. Stanco. She is smart, no nonsense and will tell you the exact truth. Nothing more, nothing less. I have great respect for her. I'm 31 weeks now and have been VERY happy with her, her staff, and my overall care in her office. Her reaction to normal complaints is just that, it's normal to have back aches, it's normal to have some swelling, you likely will want some kind of pain medication during labor, etc. Listen, she delivers 300 babies a year, she has a data point or two to base those opinions on. Most of us chose to be pregnant. You're going to be uncomfortable for a portion of your pregnancy. Get over it. What do you want her to do? Throw a pity party for each patient???? Bottom line is you will get excellent care and your baby couldn't be in better hands.

Why is that the one profession that needs to know compassion, understanding, and a little "bedside manners" is the exact one where most of the professionals are lacking these skills?
I get tired of seeing Doctors who think that they rate above God on the talent scale, and who either patronize you as a ignorant patient or treat you like you are overexaggerating your symptoms.
Oh! Also, I happen to call the specialist by the wrong medical title and she gets all defensive, when my very own Insurance coverage labels her by the title I was calling her in the first place.
How am I to know if my ins. has it wrong? I dont have a book of superfical, medical titles to call pompus-ass doctors. Give me a break! These so-called specialists have been over-inflating their ego for way too long; they need a little humility to bring them down to the REAL world.
Lorraine Stanco SUCKS as a doctor! She is a real witch. I would never go back to her, nor recommend her services to anyone. If you see her name, look for someone else.
You should never treat a patient with such disdain, I dont care how bad a day youre having. And if your office doesnt treat certain problems, dont make the appt. with the patient!!! You dont offer to make an appt. knowing full well what the patient is coming in for and then tell them when they get there that you dont take care of those issues. Thats stupid!! Tell them on the phone that they need to see a different doctor. What a waste of time & money!
Do you need the insurance money that bad that you would put someone through such an ordeal?? ( especially because that person also had to use their sick leave to see you)
Greedy Pigs! Then, after the patient fills out all the paperwork and you speak with them, you hand them a card for the correct type of doctor that they can see, which you knew about all along. What a Scam they have going!

Well, I'm 33 weeks along now and have been seeing Dr. Stanco since August. I'm due in Feb. I said I would update and now I am. I think Dr. Stanco is a great Dr. The appointments feel a little rushed...but she takes time to answer all my questions. Really most of the questions I've had have been easily answered with all the reading material the office gave me, but if I've ever had others I've been able to call, talk to the staff and they've been answered right away.
I am very satisifed up to this point as her patient. I will update post delivery as to how that all went. I should say that I have had a perfectly normal pregnancy up to this point that did not require any extra attention.
Till next time....

I am a young mother, only being 18 when I was pregnant my PCP referred me to Dr. Micheal Wong to be my obstetrician. About 4 months into my pregnancy I had a routine blood test to screen for downs syndrome. the test came back positive and I was referred to Dr. Stanco. terrified, i went to her only to discover that Dr. Wong's staff had miscalculated my due date resulting in a false positive. I had an ultrasound and everything came back perfect! Dr. Stancos nurses were so kind , so caring, and genuinely friendly people. Dr. Stanco came into the ultrasound room to congratulate me on the happy results.
Naturally I was furious that my family and I were put through such an awful ordeal so I called Dr. Sanco's office to see if she could refer me to a new ob. one of the nurses told me that even though I didn't have a special needs pregnancy she would take me as her patient based on everything I had been through! Every visit to her office was a joy. Her staff new me by name and Dr. Stanco was always there to answer every concern or worry I had. She was straight forward and extremely knowledgeable. Finally after months and months of waiting I had to be induced, because I was passed me due date. When her office called me to tell me that I was going to be induced she spoke with me personally and reassured me that I would be fine.
To sum things up, I was in labor for 22 hours resulting in a c-section (which she preformed) after the cesarean was over I thanked her for everything and she kissed my forehead and told me she was proud of me. I can not say enough kind words about this woman. I'm saving her card for me next pregnancy because I would never dream of going to anyone else! Not only one of the best doctors....but one of the best people i have ever met!

I am seeing Dr. Stanco for my second pregnancy, and have the utmost confidence in her and her staff - I wouldn't dream of seeing anyone else. She has been a great doctor and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is beyond knowledgeable, and clearly has been doing this for a long time. Her staff is great, and again, very knowledgeable. Dr. Stanco has a great way of making you feel very important as a patient and takes great care of your well being and comfort. Since moving up to Carlsbad I didn't once think of going a doctor located closer to me. She is worth the drive, as is her staff. Thanks for being such a great doctor - hope there are others doctors out there that are half as good to their patients as Dr. Stanco and staff are to me.

I am shocked to read all the negative posts here about Dr. Stanco. I had "normal" pregnancies for my 2 kids and she delivered both of them. She is awesome. She's personable yet professional and gets the job done. I've never had a bad experience with her. I would probably say though, if you want a "natural" more holistic approach to child birth, she's not the one. She's pro-induction and pro-drugs. I was up for both, so it wasn't a problem for me. If you're the emotional type, don't go crying to her though. You have to be realistic and open minded to get a good experience from her.

To put it simply, she is absolutely rude and un-professional when it comes to answering any questions about a procedure or alternatives, questions about risks that were researched prior to the visit were completely disregarded and labelled nonsense. I was told that even though I think I want to have a natural birth that in the end no matter what I want right now, I will want the epidural. And she scoffed at my even thinking I knew what I wanted. I double majored in college and really have a problem with a DOCTOR treating me as if I am an imbecile and have no idea of what I am talking about. I came to find out that neither does the American Pregnancy Association (APA), WebMD reports or any other medical research of any kind... I was told "Oh, that never happens!" Needless to say, I had my regular OB/GYN cancel my appointments with her and now see the Perinatal Group. No one deserves to be treated the way she treats patients. Especially women who are nervous, anxious and apprehensive to being pregnant AGAIN and have the risk of losing ANOTHER baby! Definitely not the doctor to go to for a high-risk pregnancy if you don't always go with the first thing the Doctor tells you to do.

I was excited when I first saw Dr. Stanco because I thought she had a great bedside manner. Things changed when she suggested I get induced on my due date (which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving) even though it was medically unnecessary. My husband and I agreed at first, but after much thought we decided to wait until I went into labor. A couple of days after my due date I had labor pains. I called Dr. Stanco's office to see if I could get checked, but instead her nurse told me that Dr. Stanco didn't want to see me, that I should just go to Triage, and that basically I shouldn't have changed my mind about having the induction. I was in shock at her response and wanted to change Dr's ASAP. But my husband called her back and we agreed to a "truce". My delivery ended up being difficult, and it was nice having a high risk Dr there, but I learned that if you didn't do things completely her way, she does not like it.

I have had two visits with Dr. Stanco thus far. I have a very normal pregnancy so far. I am currently 15 weeks. I like Dr. Stanco quite a bit. If you're looking for a doctor to "coddle" you, I agree that this Dr. may not be for you. She's very "to the point." She does smile quite often and is very pleasant/professional.
Dr. Stanco strikes me as a doctor that takes her practice very seriously. She runs a small practice on her own and delivers all of her babies. She only takes one weekend off a month. I see some women have become frusterated with her here because they may have taken what she said personally. I chose Dr. Stanco because she is an A+ high-risk pregnancy doctor and should anything go wrong in delivery, I want her there. I should say that I am not sensitive AT ALL. Although, Dr. Stanco has not been rude to me once I plan to write more reviews throughout my pregnancy/delivery just to update. For now, I give her an A+.

Absolutely LOVED Dr. Stanco. She is very direct and will tell you the truth, but won't coddle you. I found her approach to be exactly what I needed during an emotional period when I was likely to believe everything I heard and read. I started labor at 29 weeks, and she handled everything in an exemplary manner, making sure I knew what I needed to do to extend the pregnancy as long as possible. Plus, knowing that she herself was there to deliver my baby instead of a strange doctor from a group was quite a relief. I was disappointed we had moved to Colorado before I got pregant with my second as I would have loved to have her again.

I was a patient of Dr. Stanco last year. She was pretty average as a doctor. I'm sure she's very skilled as a surgeon, but her horrible bedside manners earned her only one star in my book.
I would definitely not return to her if and when I get pregnant again. I had to go to Sharp Mary Birch Triage a couple of times and the amount of time I had to wait for Dr. Stanco to come over from her office to see me was excrutiating.
While I was her patient, she put in a cerclage (a fishing line-like string is used to tie off the cervix). I miscarried shortly after this procedure, which I don't blame her for. I had to go to the hospital to have this string cut so that I could properly miscarry (if there is such a thing). I was carrying twins at the time and I asked if both placentas had passed. She totally ignored my question. She was in a hurry to rush off to her office to see her patients with viable pregnancies. A week after my miscarraige, I passed the 2nd placenta at home in the bathroom.
But, while I was in the hospital, I wanted to make an appointment to see her to have a check up. She told us, while my husband and I were still in shock in the hospital, that I didn't need to come back to her office for a follow up appointment after my hospital stay because she won't be examining me.
It was only last month, 6 months after my miscarriage in November of 2006, that I saw another Perinatologist for pre-conception consultation, that we discovered the string that was used in the cerclage procedure was never taken out of my cervix. The doctor that did the examination for me took the string out to show me what was left in me. Doesn't this sound like a good case for a malpractice lawsuit?
What a waste of a medical degree. I hope to never cross paths with this doctor ever again.

I'm new to San Diego, moved here with my husband at the end of my 3rd trimester. I have no family here, so i decided i wanted to go back home for my baby. The doctors back home are completely ok with it.. they say, "Call us when you get here".
So when i went for my first visit at 16 weeks with Dr. Stanco, i was really excited because she came recommended and was a specialist!
Upon meeting we explained to her our situation, and her smile went to a total grin! She did not like what we were telling her, and proceeded to tell us that we were "DISHONEST" and we should've been truthful when we set the appointment. She said, "I'm not here to baby sit you! If i had known, i would've NEVER scheduled the appointment with you!"
Biting our tounges and not stooping to her level of tackyness, my husband asked, "What do we do now?" and she replied saying, "Well i'll see you now since you are here" like she is doing us a favor!
Luckily i only had to deal with her for 5 minutes more, i had my ultrasound done by someone else in her staff who was absolutely pleasant!
Then the weirdest thing happened. Dr Stanco came in as i was leaving and said with a smile, "I WANT to see you in 4 weeks"
FREAK! It was sooooo weird!
I refused another appointment and asked for my files as i left.
I DO NOT recommend her at all! As the other people who had a bad experience with her... she's more interested in what's best for her... and not us - the patient!
STAY AWAY!

I caution any woman who uses this Dr to be very, very careful. If you do NOT do things exactly HER way she is incredibly derogatory. I would love to go into more details but cannot due to the need to protect a family member. But I will say, she is very lucky she was not sued by my family for malpractice and abandoning a patient. The only reason she wasn't sued was because the patient involved was too traumatized by the events and the doctor's actions to participate in bringing a lawsuit.

I had a different Dr in the beginning of my pregnancy and was disappointed so I asked around for some referrals. After talking to about 4 different people, one name came up every time, Dr. Lorraine Stanco. The most important thing for me was having a Dr. who was very knowledgeable (this is the person who will be delivering my baby) and that she is. I was pretty much guaranteed that she would deliver my son, which is almost unheard of now. During my delivery, there were a few complications and Dr. Stanco was amazing throughout the whole process. I can't imagine having any other Dr. in the delivery room with me and I look forward to the next pregnancy with her.
PROS: Knowlegeable, friendly, thorough
CONS: None

After a few stints in the emergency room for IV fluids (as I couldn't even keep a sip of water down) I was finally diagnosed -in the ER- with hyperemesis gravidarum (severe nausea and vomiting in pregnancy) - Dr. Stanco was completely uninvolved with my eventual home treatment (to keep me out of the ER for fluids and get me on an anti-nausea med other than a pill that I couldn't keep down) and had no interest in my progress. I called her once after hours to ask her a question about a side effect of the anti-nausea med I was experiencing and she was wholeheartedly rude and condescending. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone... she lacks interest in her patients as well as compassion.

Well, I was with the other doctor on my first trimester and it was bad. I mean the doctor spends like 10 minutes on me the most. So me and my husband end up with Dr. Stanco. She was very nice, very professional and highly skilled. I did my 9 week ultrasound with other doctor and she did it in about 10 minutes. At 16 weeks, i did my ultrasound with doctor stanco and she spent about 40-50 minutes on me. Scanning every organ of my little one thoroughly. She definitely deserve a $300 fee we paid for the ultrasound. Overall it was all good and fun.
PROS: highly skilled, knowlegeable, and thorough with everything
CONS: NONE

Although Dr. Stanco was very nice and personable, I left her at 7 mos because I felt she was not comfortable with my interest in a "natural birth". Although she is a good Dr (was very nice & personable), I was uneasy with her inability to see my son's birth as an intervention-free event, despite what she called my absolutely normal "textbook pregnancy". Perhaps because she is a high-risk Dr, she cannot relate to a normal birth experience. I ended up having a beautiful birth experience with no drug intervention with another Dr, & changing Drs was the best decision I made (gut decision). If you are truly high-risk, stay, but if you want a normal birth experience, go somewhere else. PS: I had 3 ultrasounds by 7 mos (unnecessary?).
PROS: very thorough
CONS: can't handle normal births

I had an appointment with Dr. Stanco and was refused the physical exam because I didn't want to have an ultrasound. According to the doctor I had made an ultrasound appointment. I know that I didn't and have my own notes at home to confirm that I was making a 'first' appointment. A $150 appointment that did not include a $300 ultrasound. I am pregnant with twins and had an ultrasound the day before from my RE clinic and had no reason to need an ultrasound. I offered the ultrasound images to the doctor and she didn't even act interested. Dr. Stanco told me that I was told I was having an ultrasound. Trust me, I would remember if that was ever discussed. I know that I would have refused it on the phone! Additionally she totally disregarded my right as a patient to refuse the ultrasound. She was more worried about her schedule than whether or not I needed care. She charged my $50 for cancelling the appointment without notice when she was the one that cancelled it! Additionally the paperwork I received in the mail prior to the appointment very clearly states that ultrasounds are usually performed 16-20 weeks. I was at 9 weeks and 1 day the day of the appointment. There was absolutely no medical reason for an ultrasound nor any reason for me to expect one! I left very frustrated and unhappy. This is a doctor more concerned about what is best for her- not what is best for her patients. STAY AWAY!
PROS: NONE
CONS: Bad communication, disrespectful of patient, patient concerns come 2nd.

Dr. Stanco deals mostly with high risk pregnancies, and she is THE BEST!!! She is empathetic and optimistic when things don't go well. And she is a great doctor when things go well too. SHe takes a conservative course of action, and takes the time to explain everything.
Oh, and she works 7 days a week, and delivers ALL HER PATIENTS BABIES!!!
