Goldberg, Roland DDS - Utc Renaissance Ctr

I have been a patient of Dr. Roland Goldberg's for more than 10 years. During that time frame he has helped improve my dental health tremendously. I previously spent 21 years in the US Navy and needed quite a bit of work after retiring due to the inadequate care while serving our country. Dr. Goldberg gives the least painful shots I've ever had and is a highly professional in his approach for all work.

Im really unhappy and even upset with this guys service. I've been to the office 3 times. The cleaning is average to unsatisfactory (depending on which hygienist you get). All of them are way too aggressive with the flossing. Each time I've had to wait 20-30 min for Dr. Goldberg.

The bigger problem i have is that I've had more work on my teeth by him in 3 sessions than i've had in my life. The first time, he said i was brushing too hard and had to fill in facial abrasions in my front teeth -- i got those filled in. Honestly they don't look great (color is off and you can see the edges of the filling). My next visit he had to re-fill and/or re-polish them. Even though he doesn't charge for re-doing work, it's annoying and causes tooth sensitivity. He put another filling due to a gap in-between my back molars -- this fell out after a month. Apparently, i've also had multiple cavities each visit. His software program indicates there are some small cavities forming - when he inspected it with his tools, he said he couldn't tell if there was a problem, but it should get fixed. I've also bought multiple fluoride solutions and a mouth guard from him. It's now my 3rd visit and he wants to drill some more cavities and re-polish again.

Service is not great, his work is scary in retrospect, and i don't trust him. If he's right about the cavities, i'll update this post. But otherwise, do not go to this dentist.

My whole family tried this dentist and he was the worst. The office smells terrible from the moment you walk in. He overcharges and the Dental hygienists are harsh in their touch. I would never go here and will not recommend this office.

I feel Dr Roland is way too quick to recommend serious dental work. I also feel he is not as qualified to do root canals as some specialist doctors are therefore is not able to give the best care for such surgery.

I saw Dr. Goldberg last year. His work was fine, but I think the overall service was not impressive. I have switched dentists and am far more satisfied. i would not refer others to this dentist office enthusiastically.

I have seen Dr. Goldberg twice for routine checkups and a cleaning since I moved to UTC. The first time I was very unhappy with the service. He made me wait 30 minutes and I had shown up early for my appointment. Then after the hygienist performed the cleaning and X-Rays he made me wait another 20 minutes to see him! Total was almost 1 1/2 hours for a routine cleaning and it wasn't very thorough. Then I decided to visit him again this week to see if my prior experience had been an outlier and because I am lazy. I had the exact same experience again!! It was a poor cleaning again, I waited around too long again, and he spent more time trying to sell me "Deep Cleanings" then his hygienist did cleaning my teeth.

I'll never go back there and I would suggest using another Doctor if you are considering using him.

I have been patient to Dr Goldberg for the last 3 years and I am very happy with my dentists visits. He is very thorough in his exams, and he is very friendly. I have already recommended him to my friends, and they like him too.

PROS: High quality exams and procedures, frendly dentist
