Pub

by Louis D. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 263

A great local Irish pub, Guniess is on tap cold and poured just right. Service is always friendly making you want to return again and again. Food is ordinary but its a great relaxing place to be.

Just a basic bar...look elsewhere for a cultural experience.

by xyrium

Not a big fan of sports bars, and this one tries to bridge the ga between pub and sports bar. THe food was mediocre at best, though the pints were fine. I'd probably choose Connolly's (I think it's on W45th.) over this one if you were seeking this type of atmosphere...

Pros: Has Guinness

Cons: Boring bar

Great Irish Food

by celticait

I really love the pub grub here.. Always a real traditional Irish Breakfast.. They def make THE best irish breakfast in the city. I dont like the tiny glasses, but all in all they have good drinks and good food. The service is really good too.

Good bar to take your parents to when they're in town.

by ericj2k

A friendly, efficient and accomodating bar staff greet you a this Murray Hill establishment. Great place to have a Jameson and relax. Though there is a smattering of young people in here, the age range seemed to be early 30's and up. It's a cool, relaxed place to start for the night, or a great place to take your parents to if they're in town for some drinks in a non-meat market oasis. Haven't had the food, but I recommend it for drinks.

Pros: Friendly, accomodating staff. Relaxed atmosphere.

Cons: Not too many. A little more 'mature' crowd than you may be used to if you're in your 20's.

thai noodles !

by paddym7

I know it seems funny to recommend a Thai item at an Irish Pub but its great. Apparently the chef is from Thailand, the stir-fry is great too!

Pros: food

Cons: sometimes it can be a bit noisy in the dining room if the place is busy

an oasis of friendliness & comfort in the sea of 'meat market' places that have recently sprouted in this neighborhood.

Best burger in town!

by fayman

Perfect location for happy hour. The only irish bar near Grand central that is not a complete dive. The burgers are awesome and the crowd is good. Really friendly bar/waitstaff and if you are in the mood for a creative drink....these guys can make it for you. Awesome place for drinks during a blizzard (Got the track record to back it up)

Pros: BURGERS.....the Staff

Peacefully Irish

by Drink_Club

A friendly Scottish waitress took care of us. The spring rolls-- weird to find in an Irish pub-- were excellent. Liz says the bread was great. My hot toddy (I've got a bad cough/cold) was the perfect antidote to what was ailing me. Very low key, relaxing and a good place to converse. -- Drink Club is a roving group of NYC Drinkers.

Pros: Relaxed, Friendly staff
