I first went to this playhouse 9 years ago to see a play for a class I was taking at the college. I would have never learned about this theater or live theater if it hadn't been for that class. I have been back many times now to enjoy a good play.
The theater itself is a work of art. You walk up the front steps and into what looks like an elegant house from one of the wealthy families of "Gone with the Wind". Inside the front doors is the lobby and the area they serve free (donations accepted) refreshments at intermission. Wind down the stairway to the right to find the restrooms. Inside the next doors you enter the back wall of the seating area. They put all the cast pictures of the current play on the wall. The rest of the walls are adorned with past play posters and pictures. The inside seating area is roomy and the seats are stuffed and comfortable. I'm not sure of the number of seats. Over 100 I guess and the seating is slopped so you don't have to crane your neck to peer over the people in front of you. I have never attended a play that was completely full but they get very close to full most nights. Tickets are usually around $10.
If you are looking for something different to do on the harbor you should give live theater a try. I drug my husband to one and now HE is the one who gets eager to have a night out and go. Definately a good time for all!

PROS: Everything (except parking).
CONS: No parking area. Have to park wherever you can find closest.
