After arriving 5 mins late to a 2:00 pm appointment scheduled online, we received word that our appointment was given to somebody else because were were and I quote "17 mins late". I checked the time on my cell phone which read 2:20 pm and this was after 10 mins of waiting with nobody even saying anything to me at the front desk (not even a hello how are you), 5 mins of me and my husband going back and forth with the staff about our appointment time and the time we arrived after being ignored. We left with an an overall feeling that we, as a African American family were not welcome there an have decided to not patronize this establishment.
I have been bringing my dogs to get washed here for the past 4 years and absolutely love this place. It is fast (you do not have to worry about your dog being caged up for hours just for a dog wash), the staff is incredibly friendly and its economical. I strongly recommend this dog wash to anyone in the Annapolis area!
Muddy Paw Wash is a wonderful place to take your dog! They are located right next to Quiet Waters Dog Park, which is very convenient after your dog has been running around getting dirty all day at the park. I usually wash my dog myself there, but a few times I have left the dog to be washed while I go run errands. Everything is easily accessible and the staff is very friendly and helpful. They also have cafe next door, so you can get a drink while you wash! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice and friendly place to get your dog washed.
Unfortunately, Muddy Paws is a good idea with one of the best possible locations a dog wash could have (right outside Quiet Waters park...where there is a huge dog park and water dog park), but it sadlled with a horrible facility.
The place is far too tight for a public dog wash. There is little room to move when all tubs are occupied and staff and dogs are running back and forth.
The neighbors include a restaurant and a laundromat, both of which use a fair share of the minimal water supply, and a fair amount of the tiny parking lot. Water pressure frequently drops (because of the drain caused by the other water consumers) below the minimum required to activate the automatic soap dispensers. The staff's back-up when this happens (about 50% of the time I've been there) is to hand out bottled soaps and conditioners. The hot water heater is also insufficient for the load placed on it. They really need to consider either tankless water heaters at each station or a much, much larger tank-based water heater. Currently, hot water runs out regularly on moderately busy weekend afternoons.
The owner states that the landlord has been asked for increased water flow, but the request has been ignored.
The staff is incredibly friendly. Despite the problems, I continue to return because of their bright and cheery customer service. They love dogs and it shows.
