The service was great. The sushi was phenomenal. And if you leave without trying the golden scallops appetizer, you have made a huge mistake. I've had lots of sushi in lots of restaurants in Nashville and this is definitely the best so

I haven't eaten at all the Sushi places in Nashville, but I have eaten at quite a few. All of the fish has been consistently fresh, and I think they have some of the better Fusion rolls I've tried anywhere. Can't comment on the service because I usually order togo.

I love this place! I've been going ever since it opened.

The service is absolutely horrible. But, it's worth it once you finally get your sushi.

Pros: Mexican Roll

Cons: Service

The wait staff is friendly & helpful even when they are really busy. I love the soup, salads and Teriyaki Shimp combo meal. Lunch can be busy if you arrive between 12:30 and 1, but I've never had to wait too long. Love the atmosphere too.

I came across this restaurant while looking for another place. I decide to go in and give it a shot and I was very pleased that I did. As a vegetarian it can be difficult to find well prepared, tasty tofu dishes and Sushiyobi does tofu very well. I have been back about once a week since discovering Sushiyobi in November.

The only negatives are that occasionally the wait staff can seem hurried (and for good reason-at lunch it is quite busy) and the artwork leaves something to be desired.

Pros: Consistent well prepared food

Cons: Replace the "colorful drummer" artwork with something more in sync with atmosphere, music selection can be annoying

Parking can be a little tricky but food is well worth the drive/parking.
Excellent selection of speciality rolls as well as soups. New desserts are a treat to look at and to the eye. Great way to cap off a relatively inexpensive meal in style.
Lunch is always busy with locals - but night is the time this cozy place really shines. Would recommend to any sushi lover.

I've tried about 90% of the sushi in Nashville and Sushiyobi is by far the best. Stay away from the basic rolls and venture towards their speciality rolls- they may be more pricey, but definitely worth it. The saki selection carries something for every taste, hot or cold, sweet or dry. Recomend the Tuna Tartar and the Bob the Builder roll.

At first when Sushiyobi opened, it promised to be a fun and different sushi place for Nashville. And at first it was! It was a littl expensive but had some fun flavors. Two years ago, I went for my birthday and had a horrible experience. Very slow service and C- Sushi. I avoided the place for a while... Until last night in fact, I gave them a second chance. Well, I was saddened that the place is still terrible. The same flavorless sushi. Very poor house Sake. (This stuff had to be the lowest grade Sake available.) Our waitress was very bad (again), and she was not a pleasant person to be around at all when she did show up. Besides all of that, the meal was the highest price I have paid for Sushi in a long time. If you get a hankering for Sushi and you are on Music Row, keep driving! You would be better off going to Captain D's. I have eaten here maybe ten times since they opened, and every time the experience gets worse.

Cons: Service, Flavor, Price

Let me preface this by saying, I've never had to write a negative review here before - I'm not normally a picky diner, but this was a very bad lunch experience.

Two of us went here for lunch today - got there around 12:30pm. We ordered 3 rolls and a couple pieces of Nigiri, and two salads. Salads came out immediately - but it was over 40 minutes to get our sushi. The water I had (even with adding lemon) tasted very odd, almost undrinkable.

When we asked what had happened to our order, our waitress just rattled something off about the sushi bar being very busy. I don't care how busy it is, surely you can manage to turn out some simple rolls in less than 40 minutes....

Our bill was over $40 for something we normally get at any other sushi restaurant in town for $25-$30 for the two of us for lunch. Granted, the rolls were pretty good (especially one of the specialty ones - Makato spicy or something like that) - but come on ..no matter how good your product is, bad service, slow service and funky tasting tap water = I'm not going back.

Pros: Pretty good rolls

Cons: Horrible service, not good for a work lunch, water there tastes very bad

not too fond of service, but this is a signature music city sushi restaurant. the food is well thought out and relatively well executed but the rice can be too sticky. half the time you don't know you're eating sushi because the flavor is masked by what's on the fish, but it is a nice reprieve. if you want true sushi go for the nigiri not the rolls. you know nashville is becoming little hollywood when places like this show up. overall, recommended becauseit is flavorful but be prepared to pay for it.

Pros: innovative take on sushi, free parking

Cons: service doesn't match price, parking can be difficult to find

Hands down the best sushi in Nashville. No where else compares. The other dishes are just as good also.

I never even got the opportunity to taste the sushi. My waitress forgot to put the order in!! After trying my chicken "teriyaki" meal (which was boiled chicken pieces seasoned with a little salt = GROSS) we had to flag our waitress down and ask her to check on the sushi (which she never did). Finally, the manager came to see if we needed boxes and we told her we never received our sushi roll. She checks and come to tell us that (after 45 min.) they are finally preparing it. In short, my experience at "sushi"-yobi sucked. Well, at least the "yobi" part did.

Pros: The fried rice, location

Cons: Service was horrible

Great variety - shushi masters will even make special orders if not reall busy. No kids meals listed but fried chicken strips and fried rice are always kid favorites. Great food and dining experience. Nice to know locally owned and managed - not some cookie cutter chain.

Pros: Sushi selection is tops

Cons: Seating at lunch can be difficult but at dinner groups OK

.

Excellent variety of items from menu from salads to green tea ice cream. Daily specials are great value and variety - may be to much food for small eater. Speciality shushi rolls made to order and even my "special request" were honored with no grumbling. Terrific for lunch and casual dinner. I nevered felt hurried or pushed out the door with a waitress with a check in hand. Always a fun stop with out of town visitors to show them Music Circle area and a real Nashville fusion spot.

Pros: Great casual dinning - friendly almst coffee shop athmosphere

We work a short walk from Sushiyobi and go there very often. I find the lunch to be quick and consistent. When I am craving tempura or Philly rolls - this is the place to go. The service can be questionable but usually for lunch they are quick. It is pricey for lunch but worth it. With so many sushi restaurants popping up in Nashville, I find Sushiyobi to be one of the better ones around.

This has to be my worst restaurant experience ever. It all started from the moment we sat down at 8:00pm. The service was way below average. After 20 minutes of never being greeted, the server finally came over to take our drink orders. 15 minutes after that, we had to remind the server to bring us our drinks. All we ordered were waters! Finally, we were able to order our food. The majority of our party ordered sushi. After a 1 hour and 45 minute total wait time, we still hadn't received our meal. By the time the food was even ready, we were forced to leave due to lack of time. I never even had the chance to taste what they had to offer. Never again will I step foot anywhere near this restaurant! Not even out of curiosity. The manager was rude, the water sucked, and the service was awful. Ugh!!

Sushi Yobi has excellent food- better than many of the other local sushi restaurants. However, you will end up paying a little more for it. I think it's worth it though for the really fresh fish and unique rolls. They have a very nice patio if weather permits.

In Short
Exposed brick walls, plenty of booths and an open sushi bar create an inviting atmosphere at this local favorite. Lunchtime on weekdays draws lots of nearby workers, especially on sunny afternoons when the front patio is…
