Called twice to reserve and confirm a kayak, but when we arrived after a long commute we were told that they had no paddles available for 2 hours and did not seem all that concerned about the inconvenience caused. Stay away from this circus of idiots!!!

Pros: none

Cons: don't care about customers

The Gevena Kayak Center is located in the far western suburbs of Chicago on the Fox River just north of Rt 38. It is a great place to learn kayaking from very friendly staff. They teach various classes from beginning to advanced. They have Kayaking and Coffee on Saturday mornings which is a great way to meet other kayakers. If you have a boat, just show up. If you need to rent one, its only $20. The group paddles 2 miles north to Ragamuffin in St. Charles and stop for coffee/ muffins and conversation.

The Genvea Kayak Center has trips from 1 day in IL or WI to multiday trips to locations such as Alaska, Apostle Islands, and Georgia. Some of the trips are camping and others you sleep in a hotel or bed and breakfast which are more popular.

They rent and sell kayaks and equipment and give you the opportunity to try it out in the water before buying.

I highly recommend this family owned buiness.
