Vinny T's of Boston celebrates great homemade Italian food with family and friends. But food is only part of the whole Vinny T's experience. Vinny T's of Boston is inspired by the neighborhood Italian restaurants found in Boston's North End, Manhattan's Little Italy and South Philly circa 1945. From the music to the black and white checkered tablecloths, guests cannot help but appreciate the restaurant's old-style ambience. Welcoming guests with open arms and attentive service, Vinny T's serves the comforting Italian specialties and favorites many have come to love. Enjoy robust food, including traditional items like homemade lasagna, veal marsala, and mussels fra diavolo, as well as signature items such as chicken carciofi, linguini frutti di mare, and penne alla vodka. Antipasti possibilities include golden fried calamari, homemade baked clams oreganata and bruschetta caprese.

Really good eggplant parmesan. Filling and good take out for lunch. Seems to have a really nice atmosphere and service. I was charged the wrong price at lunch and the host fixed it right away.

I loved this place. It was absolutely amazing. The inside of the was very nice and clean, with good service and reasonable prices. The food was very good. I brought my family here after my friend had told me about it and the whole family loved it! It's very good and my whole family recommends it.

Best fried mozzarella

by Ruth B. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 239

I love Vinny T's. They make the best fried mozzarella anywhere. The red sauce reminds me of my Italian gramma's and the white sauce is oh so creamy and garlicky. We love the garlic bread squares and the antipasto salad is very fresh, loaded with pepperoncini and olives. The veal parm is for real--not frozen patties. The chicken parm is a huge portion. We entertained guests here once and they were very pleased. The family style menu offering was also very well priced for a crowd.

Excellent Food!

by Anonymous

The portions here are huge so make sure you come hungry! Vinny T's is an Italian restaurant that serves meals "family style." Considering the amount of food that you get the prices are very reasonable. Also, a friend of mine said that he had the best steak there the other night. Vinny T's is extremely crowded on the weekends so try to get there early or try calling ahead. The atmosphere is pleasant although a bit dark and the servers are very attentive and polite.

Good American-Italian food.

by Mina0006

I've been here about three times so far and it has been consistently good. I have never had to wait for a table and the food is flavorful. Certainly something to try!

Pros: I have not found a con.

Chain Food

by shudabinacritic

I have to say I was dissappointed. We went on a Sunday evening and we were seated right away which was great. The waiter was nice and attentive. We were given bread and garlic and oil. Honestly I didnt like the bread I expected hard Italian bread. Anyway we all had some kind of chicken dish which would have been delicious however the chicken was of very poor quality. It almost tasted fake.We also felt like the marinara was of v ery poor quality. Tasted like something out of a jar. It turned us off completely. I couldnt even eat it. Well I was still hungry so I ordered a cannoli. The cannoli came and it was only filled on the ends the whole inside was hollow. This place reminded me of a chain, which I know it is and it was obvious by the taste of the main meal.

Pros: Nice wait staff

Cons: poor quality of food

gimmicky

by swhit2

Constantly interrupted by servers plying us with gimmicks, while we were attempting to eat. Not a place for a quiet meal.

Pros: nice decor

Cons: gimmicky service

1940s Ambiance and Class

by gav6791

This New England transplant intends to reflect the flair of East Coast Italian dining of the 1940s. This is their southernmost location and the only one in PA. I must admit I had envisioned another Olive Garden or Spaghetti Warehouse cranking out the food, and while this location must have 50 tables like a slightly smaller version of the latter eatery, the pace here is reserved enough and enthusiasm is under check. Think of it as perhaps the best atmosphere a chain restaurant might be able to provide. Along with two large dining areas there is a large and rather beautiful bar with grand mirrors, and plenty of deeply stained faux mahogany wood throughout. It was an uncrowded evening the night I visited, and service may suffer on evenings when this large room is filled, but this would be supposition. As far as the menu goes it is indeed comfort food, nothing too creative, which of course is a mild disappointment for those who enjoy dining out on a regular basis. We skipped the few choices on the appetizer list and each had a "half salad", which was ample enough to call something more. My caesar was one of the best I have had, certainly more than dressing and cheese. Even the croutons had a pleasant airyness to them in place of the hard or overtoasted nuggets one often gets. My company had the penne melanzane, which was certainly an ample portion. I chose the veal marsala with large chunks of mushroom, and this must be one of the best entrees on their menu. Quite delicious, though the accompanying plate of roasted vegetables didn't make the best compliment. For desert the tiramisu and a cannoli - the latter being very fresh and light unlike some with creams that are dense to keep well on shelves, while the tiramisu was a bit overwhelmed by rum (enough to smell with every bite) and less so by chocolate. Pleasant service overall and well worth trying once to see how their version of "authentic" fits on you.

Pros: Parking, Service, Decor, Quality

Cons: menu somewhat limited
