Hi I am a former parent of Kinderland. I changed jobs and had to move my kids. I tried so hard to keep them there because it is hard to find good caring people to take care of your children. Before attending Kinderland my daughter was in 2

MY COMMENT IS DIRECTED TO: A POSITIVE LOOK INTO THE NEGATIVE by ateady posted January 18, 2010.

Next time you want to write a review, don??t copy and past someone else information and claim it as yours to present yourself as creative or intellectual. It only makes you look ridiculous and can't think of anything to say on your own. Besides, stealing some concept and writing and claim it as yours is call plagiarism. Didn??t you learn that in your English 101 class?

Your comment came directly from the website Positives About Negative Product Reviews written by Sam Decker. He is talking about retailers NOT daycares reviews.

Furthermore, no matter how hard you try to undermine the reviews, KLA overall rating went from a 3 star rating to a 0 rating and there are copious complaints about KLA at DHS. Additionally, the director??s professional development rating went from a 3 star rating to a 0 star rating and her qualification rating went from a 3 start rating to a 2 star rating within a matter of less than a year. KLA??s overall rating is a 0. And you can??t get around that no matter how hard you try.

It looks like YOU are hiding behind the limited anonymity that the web affords YOU; since your comment was by ateady. Get real we all know who you are. LOL!

That goes for you too -- great choice see for yourself written by theolette posted January 18, 2010. A five start rating -- SLMAO!

I agree with one of the below reviewers, "Your review is simply a distraction from the truth".

Many people base their decisions about trying a new product or service by researching what others have already written about their own experiences with those entities.A review addresses the quality of a company's services so that newcomers can make an informed choice as to whether it's a good match for their needs. For every negative rating, provide a justification for your ranking.Research whether a negative experience was just a one-time glitch or the norm for the business you're reviewing. There may be extenuating circumstances you were unaware of.Bringing a mistake to the attention of the business owner will often yield an explanation, an apology and/or an invitation to give the business a second chance--all of which should be taken into account when writing your review. You need to put yourself in the shoes of families who are and evaluate whether the business is a good value for their time and money and a good place to take small children. Offer suggestions in your review on how the product or service could be improved. Strive for an equitable balance of fact and opinion in your content.Identify at least one positive item to praise in your write-up. If the bulk of your review is negative, make sure that you open with a positive comment or observation. Be honest but fair.Take into consideration your own mindset prior to writing your review of a business. Ideally, you should enter into each scenario with an objective and enthusiastic attitude. Never write a business review based on the secondhand experience of someone else.
1. Customers are looking for negative reviews
48 %of consumers need to consult reviews before making purchase. What are they looking for?

I often ask friends how they use reviews. Almost everyone describes looking for the negative comments to make sure they can live with any shortcomings in products they buy. We all know we don't live in a world of five-star products, and customers are desperate to know product blemishes before they make a purchase.
2. Negative reviews establish authenticity
Do you believe all of your products deserve five stars? Customers know that if there aren't dissenting opinions about a product, then the opinions aren't real. If all they see are five-star reviews, they're reading testimonials, not authentic, credible customer reviews to help make a decision.
You can??t ??program out? imperfection no matter how hard you try. Indeed, even trying to do so often just introduces other imperfections. I say this because you must realize that, if you??re in business today, there will be those that are saying bad things about your company. Though as you??ll see, I do believe we have a duty of care to be able to deal with problems if they arise. I don??t care how virtuous you think you are, there will be those that misunderstand your motives, have had poor luck with your services or, for some other reason outside of your control and despite your best efforts to the contrary, have reasons to speak ill of your business.
Since we learned to talk, we??ve been saying bad things about one another??so what??s so different today. Well, the problem is that today we have the power to make our voice heard far wider than the intimate circles of friends. That means that bad words reach more prospective customers and risk damage to our reputation, and also that we are far more likely to hear those rumblings of discontent. So the problem is magnified in terms of both its reach and our likelihood that we??ll notice it.
A trend for those giving bad reviews to try to hide behind some limited anonymity that the web affords them. When most of us are reading reviews we give more weight to the reviews from identifiable people than those from less open personalities, and reviews that sound like personal grudges really are simply ignored.

You are worried about "grammatical tone" and "wording" of a review? Despite the fact that Kinderland Learning Academy LLC overall rating went from a 3 star rating to a 0 rating, the numerous complaints at DHS and shocking reviews that are plastered all over the internet. The 0 rating is from the Child Care Licensing board because of the numerous complaints, not from disgruntled employees or customers as you would like for us to believe. Furthermore, the director??s professional development rating went from a 3 star rating to a 0 star rating and her qualification rating went from a 3 start rating to a 2 star rating within a matter of a year. The more stars a program has, the better the quality of care it offers to children. KLA??s overall rating is a 0. So what is that telling you about the quality of care the children are getting?

BBB rating is based on the length of time the business has been operating. KLA has been owned and operating by the director since March 2005 but only became a member of BBB August 2009. Actually, KLA has not been a ??member? of BBB long enough nor do they have sufficient background information on KLA to even make an inclusive rating. Also, the current rating is not a guarantee of a business reliability or performance. Therefore, BBB rating is really not a key factor as you want us to believe. As a former parent, I know the daycare has numerous well-founded documented complaints and you can??t get around that by trying to use BBB rating as a distraction from the truth. Thanks for the heads-up on BBB. I??m pretty sure; now, employees and parents will not only file complaints with DHS, at this point they will know to also file a complaint with BBB.

Your comment regarding customer care representative and I quote, ??the first thing we are taught is people are more likely (10 times more) to complain and state negative experiences then positive ones.? Your comment about CCR is categorical erroneous. A customer care representatives are not? taught? anything, they are trained and are responsible for supporting the mission of the company by providing comprehensive customer service and achieve a high level of quality results in a timely and efficient manner, etc. You as the ??customer care representative? should know there are far too many legitimate complaints on KLA and should not endorse the owner by saying the reviews are written by disgruntled employees or customers. As a matter of fact, I don??t remember KLA having a ??customer care representative? at all. If you are the new CCR, try helping the director fix the mess she made for herself. Furthermore; aplus, you need to take a second look at what you wrote and the ??grammatical tone? and ??wording? on your comment.

Your review is simply a distraction from the truth, being dismissive and a form of attacking the reviews, which is something the director of KLA has a history of doing.

Reviewers on this site who do not attempt to tell of a positive or negative experience, but only try to discredit those who have by mocking a grammatical tone or pointing out a time frame, simply show how the staff of KLA operate. Instead of addressing complaints and concerns of parents with an open mind and doing everything they can to rectify the issues and make the facility a #1 place for the kids, they get defensive and attempt to make excuses. If you do your research, which any parent should when looking for a caregiver, you will find that on the internet alone, negative reviews started being posted in June of 2009. In addition, during the past 7 months, the state has received more than a dozen complaint calls and at least half of them have been investigated and proven to be valid complaints.I suggest calling the child licensing board, child care complaint hot line and the health dept. All three can give you details of formal complaints that have been filed, actions that have been taken and results that have been seen in regards to KLA. It is quite obvious to any open minded person that regardless of how many faithful friends this director has going to bat for her with the anonymity of the web, there are still several fundamental issues with Kinderland and its director that are not being resolved. After seeing that my child was taken outside in cold weather with no coat, arriving early to find him unsupervised and then getting no response in complaints I filed with the director, we have chosen to find a new facility.

Just reading over the "complaints" here please notice they are all in the same 2 month period and use the same grammatical tone, and wording. Sounds like a disgruntled employee or customer. Either way when evaluating any place that will be responsible for looking after YOUR children nothing substitutes for a surprise visit, tour, meeting with the owners, and talking to other parents as they leave the establishment. They do have a A Rating from the BBB 1 As a customer care representative the first thing we are taught is people are more likely (10 times more) to complain and state negative experiences then positive ones. Take the anonymity of the web with a grain of salt.??

They have had a plumbing problem for nearly three weeks. The owner/director has made NO attempt to fix this problem. The smell of sewage has been so bad that 2 children have gone home sick. Water from the pipe leak is constantly on the floor where the children play. This is just one of the several safety and health violations that this facility has. Things are patched up for state inspections and then let go when the coast is clear. I called to file a complaint this morning on the plumbing problem and was told that several other complaints had been filed over the last 6 months and that this facility was on probation. I am embarrassed to say that my child has been enrolled here. Fortunately , we are on a waiting list for another facility. I plan on removing my child and never looking back! Do yourselves a favor and find another center! ASAP!

Dont go to this daycare. The list of cons far out weigh the list of pros. The staff are untrained. The director is confrontational and defensive when problems or concerns are brought to her attention. Supplies come up missing on a regular basis. A daily supply log was created but is very seldom filled out, is never in the same place twice for parents to sign it and is never updated. Over the last two years teachers have come and gone. There are a handful of teachers with longevity but the turnover is high. The baby room is ok. Both teachers have been there for a while and they used to do art projects and activities with the babies but that has slacked off severely in the last year. Budget problems or something. The playground consists of mostly concrete which results in lots of scrapes and bruises when kids fall down. The toddler staff is untrained and unprofessional. They dont pay attention to the kids. I have heard teachers usng foul language in front of the kids and they turn the music up way too loud during nap time. The director cares more about making sure what goes on behind closed doors stays there. She is the fakest person I have ever met. I have removed my two kids from this facility and would never tell anyone to go there.

I am a parent of a child that attends KLA. My daughter started there when she was 2 and after being there almost 1year,for financial reasons I removed her and put her in a cheaper center. I immediatley saw the difference in the 2 centers and I removed my child and returned to KLA. Each class my child has been in has been a great experience for her. I have not had any problems with the director or any employee there. My only complaint is that I rarely get to see her main teacher due to me having to drop her off before the teacher arrives and picking her up after the teacher has gone for the day. I really feel KLA is a productive, safe place for kids to learn and be taken care of.

Pros: Loving and caring staff and director

We filed a complaint with the state licensing board and in doing so we were told by the program evaluator for this facility that there had already been close to 10 other complaints filed on this facility in the past 4 months. These complaints were for things such as; improper discipline, unsafe sleep supervision, inadequate staff supervision, inadequate meal time supervision, director keeping personal items for nonpayment, inadequate child: teacher ratio, false injury reports, improper cell phone use by staff etc. In speaking with the program evaluator, I learned that several of these complaints had been validated and write ups and/or consequences had been given. I would encourage anyone looking for a facility to call the local licensing board to inquire about complaints that have been filed as well as the actions taken in response to those complaints. When we removed our child from this facility, the director became defensive and unprofessional. It is my opinion that she spent far too much time trying to find out how disgruntled parents were finding out what goes on behind closed doors and not enough time reprimanding her staff for not following policy and procedures and making sure they are properly trained. No childcare is perfect and there is always room for improvement but there are far too many complaints on KLA. I would not recommend this facility. Please keep looking.

Pros: Low tuition

Cons: They very rarely follow policy and procedures

I had two kids enrolled in this center for several months. I had a few minor issues that I had to address from time to time such as my sons diapers coming up missing and his ointment being gone way to soon. But nothing serious. The straw that broke the camels back was when I went after nap to pick them up and I witnessed the toddler room teacher thumping my son behind the ear. She said "oh we just play like that he likes it." I told her "Well I do not like it and I do not want to see it again. It is not acceptable." I had two kinds enrolled here and I removed both of them shortly after this incident. The staff is unprofessional and they don't have enough experience. The director is confrontational and unprofessional. The staff does not communicate properly with the parents and there is no organization at all. Kids are swapped back and forth from the infant room to the toddler room making it very hard for them to establish a routine. I would not recommend this center at all.
