Polays' Home Decor

by Sammy S.

Great time working with Michelle. I had both hard and soft window treatments installed. Very pleased with the final product. I would definitely recommend Polays. Thanks

Job well done. See you in two weeks.

by Anonymous

The designer and I worked very well together. She had 10 years experience and a well rounded portfolio.
We made an appointment to meet at her studio to select the fabric and style. After a few sketched we decided on one and 3 weeks later the installer put up my over and under treatments. I am now in process of moving onto the bedrooms.
Although I hate spending money, at least I had fun doing it.

Awful experience

by Anonymous

Hello,

I am a local Elmhurst resident so I decided to support one of our local custom drapery stores. From beginning to end my experience was absolutely awful. Without even knowing what my budget was the designer on my very first conversation told me how "high end" their drapes and prices are!! That should have been my first hint. Instead, I overlooked her pompous attitude and worked with them anyway. They had a wonderful selection of fabrics and I thought the prices were right too....EXCEPT if you're willing to wait 5-6 months for them to complete your drapes. My drapes went back 2 times for "re-work". On both occasions it was due to their errors of 1) measuring 2) the silk fabric had holes in it 3) They were nowhere close to to looking like the photo/example I had given them!

In the end, I was tired of dealing with the owner of the store so I just settled. I took the drapes (which in the end looked fine but not worth the $ I spent on them). The owner was actually so incredibly rude when she came in to my home to see the damaged curtains (holes in the valance). She was more pompous than the designer! She told me she has NEVER received a complaint and that I was basically being too picky. Yet later she apologized for being wrong about the damage on my curtains once she saw them in her workroom. Word of advice: Maybe she shouldn't have walked into my house with so much pride in the first place. She also promised to follow-up with me and reimburse me the installation cost and never did. I'm hoping word of mouth will help educate the next Elmhurst resident who is simply trying to support local business. The workmanship and service were absolutely terrible at Polay's. Please save your money and aggravation and go elsewhere.

I hope this helps.
An Elmhurst resident/former Polay's customer
