Recently I had a check stolen and cashed at Food Lion (no id used). The Manager, Chris told me to get over it and Christine Philips at the Corporate Office basically told me it wasnt' her problem. This is not uncommon for Food Lion. What do they have to hide I wonder? I wonder if they remember they have "core values" with one exception I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED IT AT ALL!

Good Luck and be prepared to DEMAND EVERYTHING there

Terrible Front End Customer service. There is never adequate help. 9 out of 10 times shopping there, we bag our own groceries. One time that we did not, we were glared at by the cashier like it was OUR duty to bag our groceries!
On 2 occasions there were cashiers working that had very dirty and sloppy clothes on. Almost as if they were pulled from cleaning the back room to come up and check. A very unprofessional way to attend to customers.
I've rarely seen a cashier greet a customer OR thank them once the transaction was completed. Maybe as employees they are frustrated them selves trying to carry on without enough help. However I've also witnessed, If on a rare occasion, there happens to be 2 employees at the register, the customer is still ignored and personal conversation is going on between the two.
Is there no Customer Service training ? Even if the budget does not allow enough help, there's no reason for not having cleanliness and good customer service.
It's easier for me to go to other stores where customers ARE acknowledged and appreciated. After all, without customers, there would be no jobs. Customer service should be the number 1 priority.

The only positive thing I can say is the prices are fairly inexpensive. This particular store never has enough cashiers and the produce always has something to be desired. Every single time I have been in there, I have waited at-least 15 minutes (one time, it took 40 minutes to through the checkout line) to check out and then once I get to the cashier, they usually either have an attitude or are busy talking about their weekend plans with a co-worker. The most cashiers I have ever seen in there was 3 and that was the day before Thanksgiving! The lines were literally halfway down the isle's. You can imagine how busy that was. Whenever I try to talk to management, they are either not available or in the middle of a conversation about their own weekend plans with an employee.

PROS: Slightly lower prices
CONS: Bad produce and horrible customer service
