I highly recommend Nan Yi Chun to anyone seeking an acupuncturist in New York City -- Nan Yi is a true expert with a wonderful personal touch!
Having had mixed success with the usual dietary and medical treatments for IBS, I recently decided to try acupuncture to help relieve my constant distress. I did quite a bit of research and choose Nan Yi based on the intensely positive comments on this citysearch site.
I?d never had acupuncture before (needles scare me!) -- yet from the very start I felt absolutely at ease with Nan Yi and completely confident in her abilities. After just a few weeks of sessions, I feel like a different person!! My most troubling IBS symptoms are already gone and my stress levels are vastly improved.
I thank my lucky stars that I found such a wonderful person and professional like Nan Yi to help heal me. I always look forward to my acupuncture sessions. Thank you Nan Yi!
Pros: effectiveness, great personality, hours
Cons: none

Post Pregnancy Relief
by Trisha12000
During my pregnancy, I developed extreme pain and numbness in my feet. This was not the usual swelling and discomfort. This kept me up at night and made it difficult for me to walk or even wear shoes. I thought the pain would subside after I delivered. It didn't. I went to see a neurologist who ran several tests and told me I had nerve damage in my feet and that he wasn't sure that he would be able to do anything to treat the issue. My ob/gyn told me she had heard of one other woman who had the same issue and that the prognosis was not good-- this woman did not get better. I had seen an acupuncturist back in the UK when I was trying to get pregnant and decided to try acupuncture again to deal with the nerve damage to my feet. A friend recommended Nan and after just one visit I felt confident in Nan's abilities. It took several visits to get to the point where I could say my feet didn't ache anymore but now my pain is gone and the numbness is gradually subsiding. Nan clearly knows what she is doing and it is a pleasure to visit her as she is so warm and friendly.
Pros: Great results, great personality

What a difference!
by robinevans
I've been seeing Nay Yi for about six weeks now for anxiety and alcohol issues. I was I turning to alcohol to deal with my anxiety and it had become a major problem. I was trying everything to get off the sauce and deal with my underlying issues (nutritionist, therapist, cleanses, supplements...) and nothing was helping. Thank god for Nan Yi! The treatments that she has been giving me have made me feel more balanced, more relaxed, more grounded, and more in control of my body and my life. I truly feel like she has given me my life back. Thank you Nan Yi!

Fantastic!
by MNavarro
I was experiencing severe bloating and constipation for over a year when I decided to try acupuncture. My stomach was so distended I appeared to be about 6 months pregnant. I began seeing Nan Yi and after only several sessions I began to see and feel a difference. She was patient and tried a variety of different combinations in order to find the right solution for me. I used to feel tired, bloated, uncomfortable, irritable and stressed all the time, and after seeing Nan Yi I feel so much more relaxed and in tune with my own body. My circulation and energy is better than it's been in years. My bloating is almost entirely a thing of the past, and I plan to continue to see Nan Yi for a long time.
Nan Yi also has a wonderful bedside manner and takes the time to explain the process of acupuncture in detail. She will take the time to explain each point and what the sensations you feel are a result of. She makes you feel relaxed and it is obvious that she is geniunely committed to healing you. She is also very interested in your own observations about your body and health.
It is obvious that Nan Yi is so good at what she does because she has an instinct that western doctors just do not seem to have. I cannot say enough good things about her and I would recommend her to anyone who has tried everything and is looking for a safe and natural alternative.
Pros: Comfortable, clean and patient
Cons: None

Three "E"s - Easygoing, effective, efficient
by Gkat
It was my first time trying acupuncture. My friend recommended Nan Yi and I can see why. I had sprained my wrist badly and been in a softcast for a few weeks. She worked on it and in only a few weeks of acupuncture and I was back playing hockey.
Pros: Location, easygoing, knowledgable

I have been to at least 3 different acupunturists in NYC. She is by far the best. her bedside manner is amazing. It is the first and only time I've actually felt a difference IMMEDIATELY after one session. She recommended a few dietary changes and supplements. A holistic approach to care which i cannot complain about. And best of all her prices are reasonable ! Anyone wondering how acupunture is supposed to make you feel should she Nan yi Chun. You won't regret it.
Pros: only acupunturist where i've felt immediate results, $$$ pri

Pregnant after a D&C plus improved digestive system
by kds222
I went to Nan Yi after experiencing multiple miscarriages and a D&C last September. When I told Nan Yi about my situation, she assured me that we will go all the way with the next pregnancy. She said it with such conviction, I honestly believed her and started seeing her weekly. With Nan Yi's help, my period returned after 6 weeks and I was pregnant again 3 months after my D&C. I am still currently seeing her and will continue my visits until I deliver my baby this Fall. Aside from trying to get pregnant again, for the first time in my life, I?m able to have normal bowel habits. Thanks Nan Yi!! I highly recommend Nan Yi due to her knowledge, patience and kind demeanor.
Pros: timely, clean, warm & professional

I went to see Nan with stomach issues. Before seeing her I had been suffering from "something" for almost 2 years. I had gone to a number of doctors and they ran every test out there to try and figure out what was wrong with me~ the last one even suggested that it was in my head.
When I explained my symptoms to Nan on my first visit she understood exactly what I was talking about and went to work~ she also took a more thorough history than any doctor I had ever seen.
I have now been seeing Nan for 5 months and I am grateful to say that I am 100% symptom free (and have been since the first time I saw her).
I would recommend Nan to any of my friends!
Thank you Nan!!!
Pros: Kind, understanding and skilled

Years of Back and Neck pain ended
by joongoon
My neck and back have been put through hell. Ever since I've lived in NY, i've been working many hours a day in front of a computer and at night sleeping on a futon. These actions have been terrible for my neck and back. I've switched pillows numerous amount of times. Finally, i've come to relief by visiting Nan. I'm so glad i am finally taking care of myself well.
Pros: after a few sessions, pain is relieved!

Great experience! And works too!
by rmk265
I've seen a couple of acupuncturists in the city to treat pain & swelling in my knee. When I came across Nan Yi's information, I'd thought I'd give her a try. From the very first moment of stepping into her office, she had the biggest smile and welcomed me - just short of a hug you would receive from a close friend. She instantly made me feel welcome and comfortable - something I normally don't experience in other offices. After explaining my injury, she had a plan of action - and she shared all her thoughts with me. I agreed to her treatment plan and we began immediately. I could tell that Nan knew exactly what she was doing and I was able to let her go to work without worrying about anything. Recovery from my first treatment took a while (as she told me it would), but after those 2 days, i could really feel a difference. I've only had to see Nan 3 times - and all the pain I was feeling was gone! I realize that treatments are different for each person, but Nan makes it her mission to find a way to help you...and ultimately heal you.
I would definitely recommend her to anyone open to & in search of a great acupuncturist. THANK YOU NAN!!!!
Pros: friendly, warm, evening hours, accepts insurance

Immediately Effective
by skb396
Nan is wonderful. I went to her at the height of the build up of a highly stressful situation and I felt immediate effects. I've never had anxiety symptoms like I'd been having - inflammation, red face, indigestion, migraines, pain in my neck and left shoulder - sounds like heart attack right? ruled that out and then went to Nan. No more inflammation already that night walking out of the office, and felt incredibly blissed. I was also able to sleep for the first time in a good while. The rest continued to resolve over time and we adjust each week as needed. Right now, we've added points for allergy/sinus problems, and I feel better than ever.
I love Nan!!!!!!!
Pros: Warm, Open, To the point
Cons: no weekends

The only thing that helped my chronic pain
by efro147
I went to see Nan Yi after developing tendinitis in my arms that was so severe I thought I was going to have to quit my job and go on disability. My job involves working on a computer all day (whose doesn't?) and by the end of the day I would be in tears, unable to move my hands. I'd tried physical therapy, steroid shots in the tendons, occupational therapy, anti-inflammatory pills and patches, elbow braces and even Percoset. Nan Yi's treatment has been the only thing that's enabled me to get back to a nearly normal life. I still have to be careful not to work on a laptop or carry heavy things, but I am no longer in constant agony that wakes me up at night. I feel certain that if this had been a one-time injury (rather than a repetitive-stress injury that I continue to aggravate daily), I'd be 100% better. Nan Yi is also a lovely person, warm, friendly, upbeat and compassionate. She handles insurance issues capably and, even though her practice is extremely busy, she's very flexible with scheduling and will never keep you waiting. I'd recommend her to anyone.
Pros: takes insurance, convenient location, evening hours
Cons: none

Nan is amazing. I went to her for some shoulder problems and within a few sessions have noticed dramatic differences in my pain. She is a wonderful, kind, sweet person who is willing to explain to you what is going on, why it works. She has given me a very positive experience and I look forward to her continued treatment.

Superb accupunturist! Look no further
by anniemarlowe
This woman is amazing, working wonders. My mestrual cycle had been virtually non existent for many many years. Recomended by a friend, I made anappointment with her. She has an extremely kind and fun personality, and comes accross as genuine as one could be. I made another appointment for the following week and before I was able attend my third , I got my period! I continued treatment with her for a few months, getting a regular monlthy period all the while. Feeling a bit over confident, I discontinued treatment and for about a year I had only one period. Fustrated, I returned for treatment with Nan Yi, and again within weeks my period returned. This woman is amazing ! I could not reccomend any other for a person considering accupunture.

Great Experience
by manhattan02
I began seeing Nan Yi for back and neck pain accompanied by eye twitching. After only two sessions, my muscles loosened up and the eye twitching went away. After that, I decided to continue seeing Nan for some gastrointestinal problems that had been plaguing me for a long time. Six sessions to date, I have seen many of my symptoms greatly diminish. My overall impression of Nan is that she is a smart, hard-working and a highly skilled acupuncturist, my standard of comparison being the two acupuncturist I had been seeing before her. I can honestly say that I got more relief out of one session with Nan than a host of sessions with the other two.
Definitely give acupuncture with Nan a shot. You will see improvement.
Pros: timely, clean, skilled professional

Fantastic Acupuncturist and Person
by yukonj88
After years of being medicated, both through talk therapy and innumerable prescriptions, I decided to try acupuncture. For some time now I have struggled with depression and anxiety, unable to find relief through conventional western medicine. After seeing Nan Yi Chun for about 6 weeks, the results have been fantastic. While I still suffer from many symptoms, often these symptoms are so small as to be negligible. I'm aware there are no silver bullets for most psychological disorders but after weekly sessions with Nan Yi and slight modifications in my personal life, I feel like I might be close to finding one.
As for the person, from the moment she opened the door to her office personally, Nan Yi was very engaging and seemed genuinely eager and enthusiastic to help me towards a better life. I felt comfortable describing my problems and admitting my failures, ultimately allowing her to get a better sense of where I was and where she thought acupuncture could take me. For anyone who is considering acupuncture as casual treatment, or like me, as a last resort, I highly recommend it. My only regret with this treatment is that I hadn't done it sooner.
Thanks for brightening up my future and putting a smile back on my face!

Nan Yi is amazing !!!

I went to see Nan Yi in hopes of helping with some acne issues. She immediately sensed that I was a "hot" person and set off on cooling me down. No kidding, I shivered for the following 16 hours after my first appointment. My acne immediately started to subside and after 4 sessions in 3 weeks I could tell my body temp had decreased and saw the acne reduced. She was able to find the source of my troubles and release them. 3 cheers for Nan Yi !!!!!

Nan is awesome!
by tm771
I highly recommend Nan! I decided to visit her after seeing all the City Search reviews and after reading for a while about various benefits of the acupuncture.
I went through an extremely stressful period in my life and was aware that the stress took over my body. I slept very lightly and would wake up several times a night; I had frequent back and neck pain and a constant feeling of being bloated; I had very little energy, even though I'm mostly positive and energetic person; I started spotting in-between my periods and my periods became very light. A sonohysterogram showed that I had a very small fibroid and a very small polyp and my ob/gyn suggested that I have them surgically removed, since she suspected they were the cause of my spotting. I told her I had just started acupuncture treatments and wanted to see if the acupuncture could help at all. Also, on the top of everything, my partner and I decided to start trying to conceive and I realized that my body wasn't in the best shape for it. I've seen Nan once a week for about 8 sessions now and am feeling incredibly better. My back and neck pain is gone, I haven't spotted for two months now, I'm sleeping soundly (which is the best thing ever!). Even my ob/gyn was happy with the results and decided that we just wait and see how it goes, suggesting that if the fibroid and polyp don't change in size, it might be just ok to leave them as is.
Nan has been wonderful throughout this time, so caring and respectful. She knows better than me where I am at in my cycle. This is my first acupuncture experience, and I'm truly surprised how wonderful it has been and how much it helped to put my body back on the right track again. Thank you Nan!

Helped greatly with Ulcerative Colitis
by tmintz
I've had active ulcerative colitis for 8 years. I've tried many treatments - ranging from 2 years on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (helped a bit, but still flared the whole time and lost a bunch of wieght), to other accupuncturists (might of helped) to circumin and ayurvedic herbs (nothing doing), to Asacol and other 5ASAs (made me much worse). Recently, I'd been in a really bad state with around 15 bowel movements a day (and many waking me at night). My gasteroentrologist was pushing me towards Prednesone. I happened to speak to a friend with UC also who had seen Nan years ago and had a great experience. So, two weeks ago I made an appointment with Nan. After the first session I had a great deal of pain relief. After the second session I started sleeping through the night. I've had three sessions and am feeling much better overall. I've got a long way to go, but I'm very happy with how much better I'm feeling already!
Thanks Nan!

Past Injuries? Anger problems? Want to help fight negative energy?
by AmZam74
Well this is the place. I've gotten accupuncture with Nan Yi once a week for the last 5 months. I've had past surgeries on each shoulder & ACL reconstruction on my right knee. I was an athlete as a youth (I'm 33 now) and my joints slowly started to fade. For me, accupuncture has helped me much more than physical therapy has as far as regaining more flexibility & less pain. Granted that I had these surgeries 2-4 years ago, but the problems that have persisted have gotten much better. As I was getting accupuncture for these injuries, spiritual realizations started to arise & that was with the help of Nan Yi's guidance. The older I became, I found I was becoming an angrier person which had affected so many areas of my life from relationships to friendships & even business descisions. When all the people in my life start telling me (begging me haha) to continue accupuncture that was enough to let me know that it's working. I am sooo much calmer, finding true spiritual happiness, realizing the meaning of life and beyond & generally becoming a more grounded person who wants to impact other peoples lives positivly. I still can't stand NYC cab drivers, but we're working on that! If you feel that something is "missing," have injuries, have insecurities, BUT have an open mind, definitely try accupuncture. The difference with going to Nan Yi as opposed to just anywhere though, is that she will help guide you & enlighten you along the way.
Pros: Accepts some insurance, knows what she's talking about!
Cons: That I can't find time to go more often!

Nan Yi Chun is an amazing acupuncturist!
by truenewyorker
I began seeing Nan Yi Chun a couple of months ago for a host of problems, but primarily for depression. Not wanting to take antidepressants or waste my time in talk therapy, I decided to seek out acupuncture as an alternative means of treating depression, after years of the aforementioned medication and a stint in therapy. To my amazement, after just six sessions with Nan Yi, I can truly say that my depression is finally lifting and I'm starting to feel like my old self. Nan Yi is a gifted healer and even accepts some insurance. I highly recommend her!
Pros: Readily available appointments, accepts (some) insurance, gifted healer.
Cons: None that I can think of.

Thank you truly!!!!
by arshasmom
I gave NanYi a hug today - my tenth session with her. About 6 months ago, acne started to pop up on my face - on my clear / no blemish face. I'm talking about 6 or 7 big ones on each of my cheeks. I tried everything out there. Nothing worked for me. I was so worried and unhappy. Then my husband started searching for some answers for me. And he found NanYi. He asked me to try Acupuncture.
I met NanYi first time in July - last week of July 2008, actually. After the first couple sessions, I could see the difference on my face and knew that Acupuncture actually works for me. The acnes weren't totally gone but appeared less and less and smaller than before.
And NanYi also suggests me with little details also, you know. Like she might say and remind me to have more fibers or drink more water -- you know all those little things that we know, but sometimes seem to forget about.
Three days ago - I actually see my clear face - no big red acne anywhere insight. But not only that - my digestive system and my energy level are really really good. Acupuncture not only helps me with the acne, but cleans up and clears up my body-system as well. So I actually feel and am better from inside out.

Normal Again!
by ktc31
I have been struggling with an upper GI problem for five months and even had an endoscope which concluded that I lacked 17 enzymes which caused constant belching problems. Enzymes did help but I still had the problem and finally after one session with Nan Yi I can sleep like a normal person at night and don't have to worry about belching. I eventually hope to wean myself off the enzymes. I have had only two sessions and finally have seen results after seeing numerous specialists and other wholistic practioners. Thank you so much Nan Yi ...you are worth commuting for!!

I went to Nan Yi because I'd been experiencing menstrual irregularities on and off (mostly on!) for the last 9 years or so. For years I suffered from amennorrhea and just never had a cycle. THEN in the last 6 months I had started having 3 per month! Also (and I believe in connection with this) I was having bad acne breaouts.
I've been going to Nan Yi every week for just one month and within that time I experienced a textbook 28-day cycle. To the DAY. I've never had that before! And NO more multiple periods in a month. It's a miracle.
And my skin is also improving, and I've stopped taking the oral medication I've been on for acne for so long.
That on top of the fact that she is genuinely concerned and committed to my being healed. She is a great listener and - unlike western doctors - she is interested and takes note in my own instincts and observations about my body and health.
I'm very excited to continue treating with her. My husband and I are talking about having a baby sometime in the next couple of years and I can't begin to say what a relief it is to finally be getting my cycle on track for that upcoming purpose:)
THANK you soooo so much, Nan Yi.
Pros: close to 34th street subway, VERY time efficient, clean & pleasant office

Can't say enough...
by tsagiv
I don't know where to start, really. But I'll try....
When I first came to Nan Yi, I was mainly stressed. I have been trying to get pregnant (not for long) and felt my stress level was what was stopping me. So- my goal was to just relax. And man, did I.
Nan Yi is super personable, very pleasant and fun to come to.
With her touch and herbs, I was able to calm down and conceive, just within a few months.
I highly recommend to go and meet Nan Yi and can assure you, you will be back.

Fabulous!
by bmaples
After reading so many of the positive reviews on Citysearch, I decided to make an appointment with Nan Yi Chun. I came to her with several issues - anxiety, stomach related problems, many years of back and nerve pain. This was my first experience with acupuncture, so I was very nervous at first...however as soon as she opens the door, you are welcomed by her joyful spirit and immediately put at ease. Since my first session, I have been back several times...and although I experienced some dizziness and nausea the first few times having never had the procedure done before, I am happy to report that sticking to it has really paid off! After only a few sessions, I have already begun feeling so much relief from my back pain...pain that dr's and epidurals and physical therapy were unable to provide. What a joy and a blessing! My anxiety has been minimal and my stomach troubles are subsiding. I feel so privileged to have met with her and look forward to each and every visit! I would highly recommend :)
Pros: Everything!
Cons: Can't think of one..

you'll believe in the healing power of acupuncture
by idalew
This is the first time experiencing acupuncture. I came to Nan Yi to heal my acne and my allergies. I have been using topical solutions ever since the onset of my acne and nothing has been very effective. In regards to my allergies. Same story. I had noticeable improvements with both situations after my first acupuncture session (and after ceasing topical sloutions/allergy meds). My allergy symptoms aren't as severe. I haven't had any new bumps since my first session (which usually I have about 2 new bumps each morning) and my current lesions are slowly shrinking. The best part are all the secondary improvements (at least 2 bowel movements a day instead of 1, immediate healing of my canker soars, restful deep sleep). Nan is so positive and genuine. I look forward to being completely healed and not feeling like I have to be on Meds/solutions for the REST of my life. Thank you SO much Nan Yi!!!

Perfect relief for muscle pain
by nessv
After having my wisdom teeth removed, I was experiencing very painful headaches and jaw tension. The left side of my jaw was swollen and I couldn't open my mouth all the way. 3 weeks after having the teeth removed, I still needed to take a prescription pain killer in order to sleep. Nan Yi helped me so much! After 1 visit the swelling went down dramatically, and I was to get by on just a couple of Advil per day. After the third visit, the pain was completely gone, and I felt so much better to have found a way to address the problem without medicine and all of its side effects. It was such a positive experience, and made me feel healthier, happier and pain-free. I would definitely recommend Nan Yi to anyone experiencing muscle pain and tension.
Pros: effective, relaxing, trustworthy care
Cons: cash or personal check only

Excellent treatment; great care
by jltr
Nan Yi has helped me experience a dramatic change in my health. I started having allergy problems and chronic sinus infections after I moved into the city 3 years ago. I was constantly on antibiotics (5 times in the last year alone), and had tried a number of nasal sprays and medication that had horrible side effects. The latest round had me on Singulair and Pseudovent, which left me experiencing sleeplessness, body aches and extreme weight loss. I couldn't tell if I felt worse from the medication or my allergies, and I was scared to go back to the doctor. Someone suggested acupuncture, so I sought help from Nan Yi.
After my first visit I stopped taking all of my medications and haven't taken any since - I've only taken her suggestions on natural remedies. The sinus problems had given me daily headaches, but I am managing them much better, without the help of any medication whatsoever. I have also been able to enjoy the nice weather outside without feeling lethargic afterwards.
On top of the success with my sinuses, my time with Nan Yi has become a new way to help me (and my body) deal with the daily stresses that I have always had a hard time coping with. As strange as it sounds, having acupuncture is extremely relaxing. It's been a surprise to see how my body has reacted. And Nan Yi has been wonderful in guiding me through the entire process. She always answers my questions and has such a wonderfully positive attitude. I highly recommend her!
Pros: calm, clean, relaxed environment. great care
Cons: none

Warm, friendly, knowledgeable acupuncturist. Have already recommended to friends.
by andybean224
I have nothing but positive things to say about acupuncture with Nan Yi. She took time to explain her diagnosis, put me at ease, and answer any questions I had along the way (I did a series of eight sessions). And most importantly, my condition improved. I trust her, and she's a joy to be around as well. I recommended a friend and he also had a very positive experience. Good energy. Thank you, Nan Yi!

Would recommend Nan Yi to Anyone!
by sb6
I found Nan Yi through city search and have been seeing her since March for insomnia. My insomnia is definitely getting better with the combination of the acupunture treatment and Chinese herbs that Nan Yi prescribed for me. I have had insomnia for over 6 years and now finally have a chance / time to takee care of it. Now I sleep and feel much better although my treatment is not done yet. We are both waiting for the pulse on my left arm to show (we know it is coming) - I had very very weak pulse on my left arm when I first starting seeing Nan Yi!
Nan Yi has been caring, warm and she is very knowledgable at what she is doing! She always remembers to ask me about the problems we discussed in the last session. She is a great listener, answers questions you have, gives recommendations on what other things you can do to help - what kind of food to eat etc. Thank you Nan Yi for helping me to be able to sleep again!!
Pros: 1. knowlegable / trustworthy 2. close to Penn Station 3. takes United Healthcare 4 clean facility

Amazing energy...
by JadoreMaVie
This is my 1st time. For the past several months I felt unlike myself. Always tired, no energy, peeling nails, pale skin & so on. I gained 30 lbs in about 5 months. I'm 24 w/a relatively active lifestyle, no changes in my eating that would warrant this much gain. Made an appt w/my doc & he acknowledged my thyroid was underactive (hypothyroid). Did some research & wasn't interested in the conventional hormonal therapy. Continued my research and considered the benefits of acupuncture. Nan Yi accepts Cigna!
1 week later, 3 sessions to date & I feel like I have done a 270 degree turn. After the 1st session major energy boost. My life is changing in ways I hadn't even anticipated! I never had a regular period outside of anytime I was taking oral contraception. My cycle was painful & crippling if I didn't load up on meds before the phantom cramps turned into the real deal! My cycle if it came was anywhere from 32-43 days apart. My first session was on a Tuesday and by the morning of my second session, Friday of the same week, my cycle started (24 days from my last cycle). I didn't feel a single cramp. No clots either. I informed Nan Yi of this and she replied "that's normal." We'll see what next month brings to see how well my body is regulating :)
I am running out of room so I guess I should summarize what else has happened thus far in my acupuncture journey. My bm are coming more reg, I'm down 5 lbs (mostly water) & I'm feeling like my old self. Loving life :)
Things to keep in mind :
On time, appts are available & conveniently located. Nan Yi is so warm and gentle. Her concern is genuine and she is receptive to your feedback and any questions you may have. I have a belief that when things are done with love the results are amazing...usally I attribute that to food but in this case I think Nan Yi loves what she does and her Chi helps to keep you encouraged on your road to a more balanced existence. Relax, Release and Live to Love Life Again....Thanks Nan Yi!
Pros: Respectful of your time, no excessive waiting. The rooms smell wonderful!
Cons: I cannot take her home with me :)

When I first came to Nan my colitus was so severe I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital. I knew that acupuncture could help me - but I am finding that not every acupuncture has the knack, and I had been seeing one that did not work for me. After one visit I started healing and am so much better now its like day and night. I started seeing acupuncturists 25 years ago in S.F., so I have a lot of experience and I consider Nan one of the best I have ever gone to. And she talks to you, pays attention to you. Thats important.

WONDERFUL!
by JoJo435
While this was not my first experience with acupuncture it is my best. If you are thinking about exploring acupunture as a treament option I highly recommend Nan Yi Chun. Her warm, friendly spirit and natural ablility will immediately put you at ease. She is a confident, experienced professional who is truly blessed with many gifts. My sessions with Nan Yi Chun are ongoing and I have noticed a SIGNIFICANT improvement in lower back issue. I have wanted to keep her a secret
but that is not fair! An associate recommended her to me and
I am returning the favor to you.....Be well.

For people new to the acupuncture experience, you should definitely see Nan
by mlh1404
As a "newbie" to acupuncture, Nan was wonderful - she answered all my questions and explained the process thoroughly. I went to see her for joint pain and sleep problems and after one session, there was a definite improvement. How it actually works, including the boost of energy right after the session is still a mystery to me, but I don't question it!

Regaining energy
by Huzur
After 4 years of doctor visits and trying to figure out why I felt so tired and unlike myself all the time, I finally decided to try acupuncture. The reviews on this site helped me as I choose a therapist. Nan Yi is truly a wonderful human being who has a through understanding of the causes of energy blockage. It took only two sessions to solve a problem I have been concerned about for 4 years. Now, I have triple the energy, concentration, happiness and most importantly, confidence I use to have. Thank you very much Nan Yi! :)
Pros: Conveniently located, warm environment

A natural remedy that really works...
by nuninuni
I have uterine fibroids (lumps that grow on your uterus) amongst other issues and initially considered acupuncture as an alternative to surgery for my fibroids. After three months of heavy nonstop bleeding and not much support from my doctor I scheduled an appointment with Nan Yi. Surprisingly, after only two visits I've been relived of my symptoms revitalizing the healthier happier me. I honestly was skeptical at first, but now realize that acupuncture does work! Thank you Nan Yi :o)

TMJ sufferers
by princessecj
I suffer from TMJ related headaches for the past 2 years. After reading an article in the NY Times that claimed accupuncture to help, I decided to give it a try, and I am really glad I did. After only my second session with Nan Yi, I felt a great relief of my tension and stress, and subsequently my headaches diminished in frequency and severity. I would definitely recommend Nan Yi for anyone having this problem. Thanks!
Pros: stress/pain relief

I went to Nan Yi because of stress and weight problems. After going for two visits my stress is so much better. After the first visit I felt like my breathing was so much better. I could finally take deep breathes. I feel more balanced and I have more energy. Also, Nan Yi is so wonderful. She completely makes you feel relaxed and is very professional at the same time. Going to Nan Yi for acupuncture was one of the best decisions I ever made. Oooh! Also, I lost 4 pounds already.

Best decision I ever made!
by calladita
I had my doubts that acupuncture will work but I decided to make an appointment and give it a try. It, literally is, the best decision I ever made. I suffer from dysmenorrhea and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is basically when your intenstines don't work properly and you have painful stomach aches. Dysmenorrhea is when you have mind-numbing pain from your period and PMS. Before going to Nan Yi, I couldn't function without taking painkillers for three of the five days. After my first visit, I noticed that my stomach aches lessened and after my second visit, I had pain for the first three days of my period but it was nothing that I couldn't handle. That has never happened to me before. It was amazing! I was almost cried because I realized that I felt normal. She is the best!
Pros: She has the best beside manner
Cons: Can't think of any

A real find!
by michelle11
Nan has been a wonderful discovery. After only a few sessions she was able to help me get a handle on what was a chronic infection I had been living with for YEARS. I had tried every doctor and alternative cure in the book, only to be let down in the end. I had come to a place of despair, and was starting to believe I would be stuck with this problem for life. I can't tell you what a relief it is to have FINALLY found a natural cure to what felt like a hopeless situation. Nan is a kind and encouraging practitioner. As the five stars show, I recommend her highly.

Best Acupuncturist in NYC
by elaynep
I went to Nan Yi after suffering from a chronic cough. I was diagnosed with asthma, bronchitiis, acid reflux, silent reflux, enlarged vocal cords, sinusitis and things I can't even remember. I saw a cardiologist, pulmonologist, allergist and ENT. I was taking prilosec, prednizone, steroid inhalers, rescue inhalers, etc. After my very first vist with Nan Yi, I stopped all my medication and virtually stopped coughing. The only thing I take now is the herbs she prescribed on my second visit. She is truly amazing! Not only is she compassionate and kind, she truly knows her stuff! I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have found her. She is my savior! In the future, I will first turn to her.
Pros: Conventiently located

Wonderful!
by 10003nyc
I'm a newcomer to acupuncture, and my experience has been wonderful. Nan Yi is warm and caring and creates a comfortable and calm atmosphere. Before any acupunture treatment, she spends the time to fully understand a patient's background, health concerns, and expectations. She the explains exactly how and why she will treat you. I've been frustrated with traditional medical solutions for years, and have truly seen a difference in my month + of treatments with Nan Yi. Quite amazing, in my opinion. Thank you!

Great experience!
by lilach84
I was suffering from tension headaches, back pain and stomach problems. Nan Yi was so kind and immediately made me feel comfortable from the first session. She is so patient and attentive and really cares about your improvement. Only 3 sessions later, I am already seeing so many improvements in my digestion, headaches and back pain. I'm a strong believer that the healer is just as important as the healing process - and Nan Yi is a wonderful one.
I highly recommend her!

Best Acupuncturist
by miken123
When I first came to Nan Yi i had terrible muscle spasms and mid back pain due to a herniated thoracic disc(t10-t11). It was my first time trying acupuncture, and my results in only a few visits have been outstanding. Nan Yi listens to you and you can't help but feel uplifted due to her great energy.
I had no idea how much swelling and inflammation was there until after a few visits when my back swelling went down so much I could feel the difference. Nan Yi has also helped my breathing as my chest began to open up after the second session. A truly great experience!
Pros: Great demeanor, highly skilled.

Extremely intuitive and caring acupuncturist, Highly Recommended!!!!
by cynthia2007
I came to see Nan Yi after almost a year of trying to get pregnant. I tried everything including ovulation calculators . . . . everything except for invitro. Nan Yi was positive and said she would help me, she explained clearly what we were trying to accomplish through acupuncture and what I should do in order to improve my chances of conceiving. After one month exactly 4 sessions I was pregnant. I knew Nan Yi would be able to help me but I did not expect such quick results. Aside for seeing her because I was trying to get pregnant she has helped me with other health issues I was facing. I highly recommend Nan Yi to anyone who is interested in acupuncture, she has an amazing energy and she really cares about YOU as an individual. I always look forward to our sessions. I recommend Nan Yi to everyone who tells me about their health problems from minor issues to serious problems. She is the best!
Pros: Easy and convenient to get to.
Cons: 34th Street during the holiday season!!!

NanYi is a true angel in my life. With her compassion and skill she has helped me to find an inner light that took so long to shine. I came in to see her about a year ago with an unsure outlook and a soggy pulse! Now, there is a beautiful balance between my mind, body, and soul. Her encouragement and genuine care have helped me so much. My life is completely different thanks to her help and I will forever be grateful.
Pros: Nan Yi!!!
