This review was written with the Dupont Road location in mind. I have not visited the other stores. I would delete my entry here if I knew how. If Village Books is truly "up and coming", it's got a long way to go. Let's start with the inventory. It's mediocre, at best. Of course I realize this is a bit if a double-bind because I am sure the store is going out of its way to choose the kinds of books that it thinks it can actually sell, which I guess tells you something about the reading habits of the people frequenting this store. Let's put it this way, if you like trashy novels, out-of-date textbooks or self-aggrandizing screeds written by half-wit celebrities, this is the store for you. Other than that, the store is VERY well organized and the staff are helpful. I wish them well but this store is firmly in the "used mass market" category at this time.

The Village Book store has two locations in town. The one is Northcrest Center is new and has different stock than the other store on St. Joe Center Road and Maplecrest. This location has used magazines for sale and a number of used paperback and hardback books. They also sell Italian ices and coffee and a limited number of pastries in the back of the store. The offerings are limited, but will undoubtedly improve as the store begins to expand their selections with book purchases. Used books can be sold each Saturday. The shop is open in the evening and on weekends. Lots of free parking in a massive lot in front of the store.
