First of all I will start by saying this had been one of our favorite restaurants in the past and we eat out often. I've never written a review but seeing how disappointing our experience was I felt I had to. We ordered the cheese plate appetizer. There was some type of blue cheese and other than that all the cheese looked like it was from Costco. Huge hunks of cubed cheddar and white american and another mild cheese that was good but nothing sophisticated. They served enough cheese to choke a horse with. It with a huge bowl of peanuts (weird) and cucumber slices. Who does that?! There was nothing served with it to enhance the flavors of thecheese.

As we waited for our dinner the bread finally came out, not with our soup or salad but afterwards before the meal was served. It wasn't warm and it was wrapped in a napkin and layed on the table. No basket or anything. If it had been warm I would have understood it being wrapped up like it was, but it just seemed strange to bring out bread and lay it out on the table like that.

Then the meal comes out and my salmon is horrendous. It's so briny tasting that I don't get past the first bite. I immediately send it back and order a chicken dish. My husband ordered seared scallops served with cheese girts. His grits were clumpy and lumpy and had zero flavor. Not a trace of cheese. They were terrible. His scallops weren't seared at all and were under cooked and cold in the middle. His food went back to.

Finally the chef/owner comes out and apologizes for the salmon; he and the waitress both tried it and said it was not good. He told us that the scallops were poached (which my husband knew) and not seared. They were no longer serving seared scallops anymore but failed to change the menu to poached. On top of this there weren't any discounts or sincere apologies. Considering we spent, with wine, $175 on our meal I would say this is completely unacceptable.
