When we had our daughter we needed to pick a pediatrician. I was suprised at how great they were. Our daughter has recieved excellent care. We use the collingswood office. We also had a problem with our health insurance, the women that work in the cherry hill office for the billing were sooooo helpful. They were on the phone with my husbands employer and the insurance company to help them fill all the paper work out correctly. I didnt know that people in Dr.s offices still cared. Even when the insurance was having a coverage issue the drs still answered all our questions and helped to the best of there ability. They didnt seem money driven at all. I am glad to have found them. If they took adults I would go there myself.

It is nice to have a Doctor you can trust when it comes to your children!

I am quite satisfied with the Collingswood office. Cherry Hill office is like a patient factory. Go figure. All doctors have been satisfactory.

I love this practice. I have actually switced several times to practices that were closer to my kids' school, but always ended up switching back. Dr. Napoli, Dr. Weber, Dr. Razi are just a few of the great doctors. People are complaining about the wait time, but a pediatrician's office HAS to take sick kids the same day, so there is often a packed office. Also, people are complaining about the front desk people. If it weren't for the insurance companies, we could go back to mom and pop practices. This practice has always been attentive to my four kids.

I had a friend try out this pediatrician when they had their first child. It was horrible. Rude. Doctors not informative. Always looking to make a buck. They switched to my pediatrician and are much much happier.

I love this office. I have been taking my boys there for 4 years and have not had anything to complain about to date. I have never had to wait long at all. It is sad to hear that others have had such a bad experience. I use Dr. Webber and he is wonderful. He takes time to answer all my questions. I have no problem getting a sick visit appointment and feel as though I am in good hands.

The doctors at the practice are good--assuming that you get a chance to speak with them and/or seem them. The staff is horrible! Depending on what nurse answers the phone you get a different answer as to treatment and/or diagnosis. The staff gives you a horrible time about speaking to doctors about questions. You have to beg for a doctor to call you back. I have had to fight to get a referral to CHOP and to get copies of my daughters tests results. The staff is not at all compassionate or helpful. I would not recommend this practice.

As much as anyone hates to admit it, medicine is now a business because of the insurance company dictatorship. There is no small town doctor feel in any office that I go into and the amount of patients are directly related to the hoops that the physician's have to jump through in order to keep their business afloat.

I love the doctors here and have never had a misdiagnosis or rudeness. My daughter is a Type 1 diabetic and only 4 years old. I am sorry that her sick visits keep the healthy children waiting an additional 10 minutes in the waiting room. Count yourself lucky that you only have an ear infection.

I agree that the wait in the Cherry Hill office is ridiculous, but you can almost always get your child in for a sick visit on the day that you call. What's more ridiculous is that even though they bill your insurance for your child's exam,if your lucky enough to have insurance and your child decides to join a sport later in the year and you need there sports forms filled out they now have a $10.00 fee even though there office personal are already getting paid a salary and you supply the form.If it weren't for the great doctors, whom my children are very comfortable and happy with,my three children probably would not be their patients or should I say clients.By the way they did not tell me about the fee until the forms were already filled out. Very disappointed!

Only 1 reason Im still forced to go here: no other doctors will take me till im 18.

This office is terrible with making you wait while hey have their thumbs in their ass. Not only that, they call people before you even if you came and signed in before. Appointment times are always wrong by 30 minutes +.

When I had an ear infection I had to sit out in the office with pain for a whole hour vomitting until I could even be taken to the room.

All they do is test for strep. I have a sinus infection right now. Oh well, sucks for me cuz according to them sinus infections are colds. I had it for 8 days, so they now think it is mono. I'm not tired, just congested like no tomorrow and pain in my sinuses. GET IT RIGHT PEOPLE.

If you don't have good insurance you will be charged at least $100 for every visit. Even the ones where they just tell you "no strep go buy some sudafed".

They used to be good years ago, but times have definitely changed.

I am sorry to hear about anyone's bad experiences, but I thought I should defend my kids much loved doctors. This practice is the best! As a matter of fact, they were my doctors when I was a kid. Even though there are a lot of doctors, they each have their own personalities and good points. My kids love them all. The more doctors, the more availability and less wait. I have not had the same experience with long waits. They are available whenever I need them; nights, weekends and even holidays and at 2 in the morning! I have yet to meet a doctor there that has made me feel silly or overprotective. They are always very professional, while at the same time very down to earth and caring. My kids LOVE walking into the office and seeing the adorable murals. It is super kid friendly. I agree that it is a business...a very well run business. Would you want anything else from the people caring for your children and helping you find your way through all of the insurance and paperwork? I say great job SJP! Keep up the superior work.

If your going to take your child to SJP. make sure you get apt. with Dr.Verlairo. Hands down hes is the best. He saved my son's life. As hes was checking my new born son he looked at my 2 year old son and knew something just didnt look right. My son had a very low iron count inwhich ment a low red blood cell count. My son showed NO sign's of this. If it wasnt for Dr.V's keen eye my son could of died. Yes sometimes the people in the office can make you feel like its just a bussiness to them. But there not the dortor, there office people and it is a bussiness to them. I dont take my kids there to see office workers. I take them to see a Doctor.

I also have been a patient for 12 years.ANY time you need them they will be there in good or in bad. With three children two of them boys we have had our share of stiches. And most other offices will not take the time to do them. They will refer you to ER where youface a long wait and larger bill.People need to understand if you do wait long it is for a reason not every child is there for ear pain cough or sore throat. We take for granted our healthly children and dont realize there are VERY SICK kids out there that may take a little extra time for the doctor. But they are the best thats why we wait and do not complain.Love all of you

The head pediatrician in this office is now part time, only a few days a month. He is THE BEST pediatrician there is. With not being able to schedule with this pediatrician it is hit or miss with over 10 Drs. in the practice, a handful are excellent as well., but the office staff is pure business, no caring kindness in this office it is run like a puppy mill.
I experienced a disability which affected my family insurance coverage. I paid monthly on the bill to catch up. I was then told that I needed to pick up my childrens records and be seen elsewhere. After having my child in this practice for over ten years!!
I would bet this was the decision of an office manager. I hope they never experience this type of treatment in the event of an illness/injury to their family.

I have not had the same experience as the other people who wrote in. I love South Jersey Pediatrics! When my son got out of the hospital they helped me with his feeding tube and when to take him off of it. I have never waited more than 10 minutes for a sick or well appointment or more than 10 minutes in a exam room. I have 2 favorite doctor's but if I have to see someone else I have never had a problem. My son loves his doctor's. I always get a sick appointment the same day, they are great about paperwork, refills for prescriptions, I could not ask for better service. Yes, the practice is really large and there are alot of doctor's but the practice is large for a reason... great doctor's. The nurses' are great, polite & attentive. My son is an infant not an older child but i would recommend this practice to everyone.

Most doctors are good (was not happy with a couple of play-it-safe-prescribe-antibiotics-when-really-not-necessary ones), but be prepared for a really long wait time.

From our last four or five visits here in 2007, average waiting times were as follows :
Outside : 10-15 mins (depends on how many people ahead of you)
Inside (waiting for Dr) : minimum of 30 minutes (no logic or reason why it takes so long)

They should at least not make sick infants and toddlers wait that long. I really wish they would do something about the wait time because the doctors are good, but the overall management sucks.

My daughter slipped and fell on ice on Friday-I called the office the day after it happened-I was told that it could be a pulled muscle and that the procedure of the office for such injury to wait a couple of days to see if injury gets better-but to try to get her to walk on it-if the pain persisted to call the office back and make an appt. to have her brought-So my daughter continued with pain and did not want to put pressure or walk on her left leg so I again called SJ Peds and made an appt. to take her in to have her looked at on that Monday. The dr that she saw only took 5 mins with her asked her questions and pressed her thigh with her hand to see where there was pain-the dr concluded that it was a pulled muscle and that she did not think that my daughter needed x-rays-my daughter went 11 days with severe pain in her leg until I took her back to the office-another dr looked her over and had me take her to get x-rays done to be sure there was not anything else wrong with her-what was the outcome of her x-rays? My daughter HAD A FRACTURED FEMUR IN HER LEFT LEG!! After the fact we were told it was a pulled muscle.

I'm not sure I'd be taking my kids here if it wasn't paid for by our insurance. The doctors are okay. Some are better than others and you never know who you're going to get unless you book well in advance. They are a business. You are a number and they move you in and out. There's no small-town caring and concern going on here. It's business, pure and simple. They handle tons of patients and sometimes you do have to wait a long time in the waiting room. But they have always been able to fit us in at a moment's notice for an emergency or sick visit. That's a definite plus.

While the pediatricians here are nice, I am not too impressed with this practice. They try to bill you for everything (for a two question "do you wear helmets and seatbelts" survey given by the doctor, they tried to charge me $48), and they charge a ton of fees other places don't. I spent $15 on a flu shot for my child, since they charge for BOTH the flu shot and the doctor's time to inject the flu shot. Worst of all, they make you wait for a long time to see anyone. We waited for an hour just for one flu shot which took a good 2 minutes once the doctor came in. However, there are pluses of this practice: the office is clean and nice, and it is very convenient to shopping and residences. You don't have to travel far to get here, and you can get your groceries taken care of right after.
