I lived in Boston for 16 years without ever having gone on the swan boats and often went past them on my way to and from work through the Public Garden. But after having kids, the swan boats are a regular stop for our weekends out and about in the city.

Cruising around on the swan boats with tourists is lots of fun and even the shift of venue from land to the lagoon offers a different view of the city.

We're looking forward to letting our kids ride on their own and waving at them from the bridge that spans the lagoon.

This is a must do if you are visiting Boston! This is a lot of fun, very relaxing and enjoyable. Great for kids too, really for people of all ages. They are in the middle of a beautiful park and you get to see different kinds of wild life. They are not expensive either. Whether you are visiting or you live in Boston, you have to take yourself and your family on the Swan Boats!

The Swan Boats of Boston are a classic way for tourists to experience the Public Garden adjacent to the Boston Common. They are inexpensive (only a couple of dollars) and pleasant to ride, though the trip is only about 10 minutes in duration. The Public Garden is a pleasant place for a picnic on a beautiful summer Saturday in Boston. The Public Garden is beautiful almost any time of year (ice skating in the winter!), but the Swan Boats obviously only operate during warm weather.

Located in the heart of Boston In the Bosotn Public Garden, this is a quitessential Boston thing to do in the spring and summer. They open in late April and close in September. The beautiful boats are shaped like swans and peddled by one man around the beautiful ponds within the Public gardens for a 15 minute ride. A great thing to do with small children and "kids of all ages". An inexpensive ride as well! Adults are $2 and children only 75c!
