We like to eat organic produce and this is one of the Farmers Markets that we like to visit. They have fresh vegetables from onions and pepper, tomato's and potato's, cucumbers, and more. They have peaches, apples, watermelon, cantalope and more. Some weeks they have fresh herbs and spices. Most of the time their produce looks good, as well as always tasting good and fresh.

SoCo in Austin is full of interesting shops, but I never knew there was a Farmers Market until I walked it one day. The market itself is pretty small, but has a little bit of everything.

The time that I visited, there was some salsa and organic bean dip open and free to sample, and to put it plainly, it was excellent. One great reason to frequent farmer's markets is to support local businesses, and while the South Austin Farmers Market carried a number of "name-brand" (though more obscure) products, there were lots of local, family-operated labels for sale as well. Prices are a bit more expensive than your average grocery store, but not outrageously so.

If you're looking for a place that carries some unique, local products, there really isn't a better place in South Austin.
