I was shocked with the poor customer service I recently received from Richardson's. I had called at 8:30 on a Friday morning to place an order and was told that the flowers should be delivered by noon, and if not, by 1:00 at the absolute latest. I was also told that I would be receiving an email confirming delivery. As noon approached, I checked my email hoping for a confirmation. By 4:00 when I still had not received a confirmation, I called Richardson's to inquire about my order. The person who initially answered said, "if the order was placed at 8:30 it should definitely be delivered by now, but let me check to confirm." I was then transferred to the person who initially took my order and later mentioned was the manager. Unlike the first person I spoken with, the manager was extremely condescending and unnecessarily rude. She proceeded to tell me that they had received a funeral order which took precedence over any other order and basically that I would just have to wait. Had the manager apologized for stating a delivery time that was unable to be met, I would have been frustrated but at least understanding. However, rather than apologizing she continued speaking in a very overbearing, negative tone as though my inquiring about my order was a nuisance . I did not receive a confirmation until 8:07 pm on a FRIDAY. I have not been able to confirm when the flowers were actually received, but I do know that the elderly woman I had sent the flowers to was unable to enjoy them throughout her day, and that her evening may have been interrupted by the delivery. Needless to say, Richardson's claims to be a community florist and my experience working with them left me with nowhere near a sense of community. I will continue to take my floral business to other locations in the area.

I'd been a customer for yrs & figured the easiest decision about the wedding would be the florist. WRONG! The wedding consultant was condescending, mocking me for bringing samples & photos to illustrate my ideas. She did not have photos or mock ups of any arrangements and just said they would look fine.She didn't know what a thistle was for my groom's boutineer&didn't bother to find one.My sister wanted a holder for her bouquet but I did not.The coordinator thought this was so wrong.It was my wedding & I was fine with my sister having what she wished for. Supposedly, there's a 2nd floor w/nothing but silks. So explain why I couldn't get a silk gardenia for my Mom.How about a camelia? Nope.How about daisies? Nope.What DO they have?Didn't even offer to order these common selections.I wanted to include snap dragons in the arrangements but was told it wasn't a good idea.On my wedding day it was important to include them..it's special between my Dad and me.I asked for dusty miller & was told if it rained alot it would be moldy so we couldn't use this type of green. Uh, aren't greenhouses used to provide controlled conditions.I did NOT want a pink wedding but that's all this lady pushed. It was clear Richardson's only wanted to sell their vision, not the bride's.The ugly,expensive sample centerpiece was the final straw and I found Flowers by Design on Main St Bel Air where I was treated the way any customer should be, especially one planning a wedding.The owner, Patty happily listened to my ideas, bringing from the cooler flowers that perfectly reflected my vision. They were soft, romantic, pastel¬ all PINK! The free sample centerpiece was gorgeous and I knew I had to hire them. For a little less than Richardson's quote I got more beautiful flowers that matched the view I had for this very special day. AND the snap dragons were worked into a lovely spray.Patty even tried to find a thistle(special meaning between my groom and his Mom).I was thrilled that my wedding ideas WERE possible.Flowers by Design created a wonderful look for my wedding & I cannot thank Patty enough for salvaging that day. This is the only florist I use.Patty is a floral artist. What a treasure!

Richardson's did the flowers for my friends wedding and ruined her special day. Don't get me wrong the flowers were pretty just not anything like she had asked, or paid for. She even gave them sample pictures well in advance. After her honeymoon we went in person to speak with Sharon, the wedding coordinator and I was astonished how rude and unprofessional she was. I would not recommend Richardson's for anything. The best thing about this florist is the adorably cute tea shop next door.

My husband has only bought me flowers about four times during our almost ten year marriage. One day he was working in the area and went into Richardson's flowers. He got me the most beautiful flowers. He informed me they have a large variety and an incredibly friendly staff. Since he went in clueless the staff helped him to chose some flowers for me that had both a beautiful aroma and were georgous to look at. If you need flowers for any occasion or just because stop here first.

He got me the most beautiful flowers. He informed me they have a large variety and an incredibly friendly staff. Since he went in clueless the staff helped him to chose some flowers for me that had both a beautiful aroma and were georgous to look at. If you need flowers for any occasion or just because stop here first.

Richardson's flowers are beautiful. I stopped by to order flowers for Secretary's day and I got a great selection for a very reasonable price. The girls working behind the counter were so helpful (especially with trying to write out those personaized cards, they obvously had much experience) I would definitely return.

Walking into this shop is a feast for the eyes and soul. Beautiful flowers all around and neat giftwares as well. This is a full service florist that allows you to pick your arrangment from books OR customize based on needs. You are NOT required to stick with that "exact" FTD arrangement at this shop. They will work with your price limits and they are available to do large events. Cash and carry flowers are also available, but around holidays be careful- they get busy and you might want to preorder.
