Had a great time at A.L.H.S. I miss all the people that graduated in June of 1969! Had a crush on the young lady sitting beside me in social class; her name was Andera, damn!

I'm an 8th grader currently attending C.S.L.J. I'm concerned about my choices in high schools(this one being my first). Looking at these comments saying the school is ghetto and then hearing its a great school is very disconcerting. Considering this school is my first choice I want to have all the details on this high school. Can someone attending the high school give me some info

As one of the top students in Lincoln, I do my work by ignoring SOME of the awful atmospheric classes. It isn't as bad as it sounds, but some people that don't try as much might make you blend in. I keep a 100 average, take AP and College Now classes, and have a complete understand of all subject. The teachers truly try to help the students, Trust Me!
I would say the school is cut. Some people try, and some do not. If you try, you will get good regents score and good understanding (Even though it is, for 1 or 2 classes, limited because the teachers go easy on you) As for the "scary" atmosphere, that is Bull****!! I feel more delighted walking in the hallway, and have never been scared. No, you will not have a cap on your head. That is a misconception!

Don't go if you can go to Tech, Goldstein etc. If you have to go, however, know that its up to you where you want to end up.

I must say when I went to Lincoln from 77-80 the school was ranked in the top 100 in the nation and the football coaches Charlir Pravata and Dominick Lerendi were the coaches and they were great people to be around. aslo I had a math teacher named Ms. Denaro that really cared about here students as well as most of the teachers there. mr Pollack was the Principle and he was pretty cool also to be a principle. Lincoln was a great school for me back in the days.

This school is an okay school. The part that I hate is the Senior Activities. I paid my senior dues in full with yearbook. The senior sweatshirts were given out after vacation. so i went there on the second day and they gave me size large. what is this? i paid money for this and deserve to be given the proper size. damn teacher that wont exchange my size large to a small. how would you only have large on the second day, and then the next day come with smalls??? I am a 95 pound girl, 5 feet, 2 inches, and you give me large. Just cuz your big, dont mean everyone else is. This is a waste of meney. The sweatchirt will be hangin in my closet for no reason. This is ridiculous. You should of asked everyone what size they wanted before you ordered them.

I graduated from Lincoln in 08 and I am currently attending Temple University in Philadelphia. Yes a University, not a community college. For the record I am white and am not from the projects in fact my parents live in Manhattan Beach if any of you know where that is. I graduated Lincoln with 17 college credits enough for an entire semester of college. And am still alive if you haven't already inferred that. Now I'm not saying Lincoln is the best school out there but its as good as any and if you truly want to get out with good grades and go to a college it will give you every opportunity to.

P.S. I loved my 4 years at Lincoln

The school is a joke, just like any other NYC free high school. Education in this building is not taken seriously. The teachers can't teach the students anything, because most of the students have second grade reading levels and behavior, even though they are in their teens. Interracial schools usually aren't worth it, because most students end up dropping out, getting kicked out because they can't stand after age 21, or just fail out. If a student is lucky, maybe they can get accepted into Kingsborough. All the students should consider just taking the GED, instead of going to a school like this. The education sucks, the students ofcourse are dangerous because of its demographics. You will be lucky if you make it out alive at the end of the day. I do not recommend sending anyone to this school, unless you live in the projects and are used to this type of environment.

I graduated from A.L in 1969 when the racial makeup of the school was mainly white and jewish and we had NO CRIME problem then to speak of. The students were intelligent and respectful and the school atmosphere was one of comfortability, safety, and an environment conducive to learning. NOW I see that the white makeup of the school is 29% and the majority of the students are either black or hispanic and a horrible crime problem exists as well as an overall unsafe environment in the school. Its obvious to me that the excess influx of blacks and hispanics is the root cause of this downfall of the school. Liberals will tell you otherwise but the numbers speak for themselves

Abraham Lincoln High School is has the potential to be a great school, but there is definitely a dangerous atmosphere. Every day after school there is always a strong NYPD police presence as it is a NYC Impact School which means it needs more security than other schools. No students are allowed to bring cell phones to school, which is enforced by 3 metal detectors at the main entrance. The highlight of this school is obviously the sports teams, which have produced NBA stars Stephan Marbury and Sebastian Telfair.
