I've lived all over the world and, for the size of community that the Orem Public Library serves, it is one of the best. The collection size (ie # of individual titles) and quality (not just best-sellers) is superb. The programs for adults, teen, and younger children are plentiful and well organized. Staff are very helpful/competent, friendly, and non-judgemental, as opposed to Provo.

Be sure and check out the media area - thousands of movies! (I think the guy said 20,000 or something)

My only concern is that attendance at a few of the programs I went to was low. I worry that if nobody goes to these great events, they will stop doing them. However, I chalk this up to the fact that I don't think the community has any idea just how remarkable their library is, and that's a shame.

The Orem Library is big but not very user friendly. The layout is very choppy and it's difficult to find what you are looking for. The library is also on the dark side (needs more lighting). They do have a big selection and the librarians are nice. Generally, I think it's a nice place but for your first few visits you may feel completely lost.

The Orem library has a great selection of books. We always find what we need and if not we are put on a wait list and notified immediately when it comes in. Convenient renew online also.

You usually have to park pretty far away. The lines can get pretty long at peek times. They have an excellent video selection for $1 a movie you can check it out for a week. They have self-checkout, which is nice as long as you don't have a book on hold. Their website is good and the hold feature is very nice. They have a nice children's area with a lot extra activities like book reading, chess, and other cultural events. If you live in Provo or Orem and don't go here, you're ripping yourself off.
