Meh...

by Jordan P. | insider Insider | Rank: 25,468

I went to Maggiano's with a friend of mine who had recently quit as a waiter from there, and honestly, the only reason i went along was because he promised me a free dessert. Who am I to turn that offer down? I let my friend order for me because apparently he knew what was good there and I couldn't make up my mind, so i ended up with a pulled pork sandwich (we are poor college students who can't afford the rib-eye!). The sandwich was decently priced for what I got, about $10, which would have been pretty good but it was delivered cold. The free dessert we got was a GIANT piece of chocolate cake that we could barely get a quarter of the way through before giving up. I can't really tell you about the service because my friend knew everyone there so we got relatively special treatment and we felt more like guests at their homes which was nice but kind of awkward in front of hundreds of other diners who I can only imagine thought we were famous or something, having waitresses sit at our table and chat with us for a while until the manager would shoo them off back to work. But all in all I was still left uninspired and most likely wont go out of my way to eat there again. Unless of course there's free dessert and VIP treatment again.

Good italian...

by R. J.

My boyfriend and I visited after seeing it on Evening Magazine's Best of Western Washington. The service was great, atmosphere was fun, and portions were HUGE...definately best value for the money. The food was very good - not amazing, but very good. We would definately go back again!

PROS: Huge portions, great prices, great atmosphere, great food
CONS: A little let down as the "best".

We couldn't believe our eyes!!!

by Stephanie S. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,387

My fiance' and I went to Maggiano's this weekend. We were pretty hungry when we walked in. It was very crowded and were please to know that there were booths available in the bar. We sat down and waited a couple minutes for menus to arrive. We were intriqued by the Family Style dining option advertised on the front page. $26.95 per person and you get....2 apps, 2 salads, 2 pastas, 2 entrees, and 2 deserts...Food kept coming out and we had to send it back to get boxed up. We had food coming out of our ears. We almost needed a bigger table. The food was a little better than average. We were nervous because it seemed like more than $27 per person worth.....we were a little nervous to open the bill....It was truly only $57!!!! Great deal and a weeks worth of food!

Reasonable

by Richard S. | insider Insider | Rank: 26,783

Although it was quite crowded, I didnt find it particularly noteworthy. The prices are low (about $14 for a pasta entry, $25 for a steak), and the portions are huge! A side salad could be a meal unto itself.

PROS: Huge portion sizes
CONS: Huge portion sizes
