We' are a Full Service Salon and Day Spa in the heart of downtown St. Louis Loft district. Our Salon offers Haircuts for women and men, hairstyling, highlights, natural hair staightening, and extensions. Our Day Spa offers facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, makeup, detoxify body treaments, Bridal packages, and Spa packages. Selah carry Aveda products, Selah signature skincare, makeup and Accessories. Selah was awarded Most Preferred Business in 2008.

I love this place! I went in for a facial. Stephanie was awesome!!! She really paid attention to what I was telling her about my acne-prone and sensitive skin. She and the rest of the staff was so warm and welcoming. I will definitely be back.

I love Selah! Everything that has been posted about this salon is true! The staff is professional and friendly and my appointments always start on time. I usually wash and twist my natural hair myself but I have been doing it for years and wanted a salon experience and wanted to try highlights. I was nervous but Christie was great! I'm so glad I tried Selah - it has given me a new love for my natural hair!

I am a senior citizen enjoying my natural hair.
Also, my story to family, friends, and strangers is the joy of a scalp massage, personal hair care, and Selah's ambience. However, Toni it is your precision cut that compliments my facial structure and awakens my ego. I purposely use words in the present tense because the way I look and feel is on-going. What an amazing experience I had at Selah Salon!!! I was in town for a very special award ceremony for work and left there feeling & looking like a million bucks! The staff was so warm & friendly from the moment I walked in the door. The facial I received left my skin feeling fantastic and overall, I was very relaxed. I walked in with no idea how I wanted my hair to look, but when I showed Lawanda a picture of the dress...she immediately knew. I cannot tell you the number of compliments I received on my hair throughout the evening. Thank you Selah Salon!

I have been going there since I moved to downtown St. Louis a little over a year ago. Carla is my stylist and she is incredible. She is honest about what I can do with my hair. She specializes in natural hair and since I have been getting relaxers my whole life, she has taught me a lot about my hair that I didn't know. My hair is healthier than it has ever been. Carla is fun to be around and the salon has a great atmosphere. All the staff are really nice and helpful, and I always walk out of there feeling beautiful. No complaints whatsoever!

My wife and I went down to St. Louis from the Chicago suburbs for a Cardinals game and decided to go to a spa. I had never been, but decided to get a deep tissue massage. We were greeted by Lawanda and instantly felt right at home. Phil was my masseuse and did a great job. My wife got her first facial and thought it was excellent as well. We would recommend Selah to anyone who is looking for a great spa experience!

I love my stylist Carla! I recently decided to go natural and she was very honest, extremely honest about everything I would experience both good and bad. Carla has a great personality, is very sincere, and made my time at the spa such a relaxing and enjoyable experience. I did not encounter one stylist at the spa that wasnt pleasant, in fact, most of them set out to say hello to me before I got a chance to actually greet them. The atmosphere is definitely one that I've not experienced in other salons/spas in this area - one that creates the feeling of a pleasurable, relaxing experience. I also appreciate the fact that clients/employees are not allowed to talk on their cell phones and interrupt the atmosphere the spa has created and ruin the experience of other patrons. Ive found my new, permanent full-service spa

I've been here twice now for cuts and both times had good experiences, including incredible scalp massages. I had to wait a bit the second time, but overall experience was very positive and I'll definitely go back.

I was in St. Louis for the AISTech show, and decided to treat myself for a facial, mini - manicure, haircut & color. Yowanda was very professional and very good at customizing a haircut for me. She made the cut work for my colics, and I am so happy with it still a week later!! I think I will occasionally drive to Chicago to see her for another cut, as I was happy to know she also sees clients there.I felt very comfortable and appreciated the "southern hospitality" from the entire staff during my appointment.

I hadn't been to Selah since it first opened, but received a coupon in the mail and decided to try it again. Not sure who to schedule the appointment with, I just chose Roselyn. When I arrived, the Ladies were very friendly and professional. I soon realized that Roselyn had mastered the craft of hair care totally. She's fast, gentle, and because she loves her job, is happy to share her knowledge. The stylist work together to ensure each others clients are comfortable. Roselyn even gave me free samples of her talents to hook me as her client, and it worked. I will be asking for her services again. Thank you so much.

I was in town for the NCAA Women's Final Four (basketball championship) and was staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Downtown. The hotel recommended Selah and am I glad they did! I had a 60-minute Swedish massage with Phil, and he was fantastic! He was strong, knowledgeable, sensitive to pressure and resistance, and extremely courteous. The rest of the staff at Selah was warm, courteous and made me feel very welcome. I highly recommend this place, and if you want a strong, intense and professional massage, Phil is your man!

My husband and I recently went to get a couples massage. Since they were running a few minutes behind, they made up for it by giving us a man's haircut and a mini facial for myself. I simply searched for couple's massages and Selah popped up....I would recommend their services. They are AMAZING! We will be going back again!.

I had read the good reviews for Selah and decided to use them for my hair on my wedding day (I was not getting married where I live so I couldn't use my normal salon). While the trial run was okay -- we got the right style after a number of attempts -- they ended up being one of the most unprofessional vendors I can imagine working with. At 3:30 pm ON THE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING, they called to inform me that the stylist who had done my trial had left the salon 3 weeks before. They then flat out lied to me, saying they'd tried to get in touch with me -- they obviously had my cell phone number but had never left a voicemail message with me, and I searched my phone records and never found a missed incoming call from them. They said they were still free to do my hair the next day and understood that I might want to do another trial, but when was I supposed to do another trial when my wedding was less than 1 day away?!?!? In the end, my day of planner was able to find another vendor for me to work with, so I canceled my appointment with Selah. This may have just been an instance in which something went wrong at the salon, but this was the one real stress of my wedding weekend, which is NOT was any bride needs.

I have super curly hair so I made an appointment at Selah for a consultation to get my hair relaxed. I met with Toni and she was absolutely amazing. Toni talked me out of relaxing my hair and she made me feel really confident about my curls. She gave me a few styling tips and an awesome cut. For anyone who wants a change but doesn't know what kind of change, call Toni, she's not a hairdresser, she's more like an artist. I can't imagine going anywhere else ever again. Thank you sooo much.

Selah Services is not professional at all. I went there several times, I had an appointment with a specific stylist and next thing I know they had told me somebody else was going to do my hair. I don't like that if I make an appointments and paying to get my hair done I want to go to the person I made the appointment with.

I've traveled around a lot with my job and it always makes me a little nervous when I need to find a new stylist. I passed the salon many times while walking my dog and wish I would've stopped by sooner. I made an appt within a day or two of calling and Lisa was my stylist. She was great! Very personable and gave a lot of suggestions which works for me because I always just let the stylist do what they want. I never know what to tell them I want. With great confidence she explained what she was going to do and I knew it would look great. And it did!! I loved my new short hair cut and went back to Lisa about 3 weeks later for highlights and she did a great job then too! I loved it! I recommend the salon itself because everyone is nice and welcoming. I highly recommend Lisa especially if you are looking for a new, fun style!

I was in St Louis Feb 5, 2009 on business when I had the pleasure of being referred to Selah by my hotel. My appointment was on a Thursday at 5:00 with hair artist (and that she was) Lisa Schwendeman -she worked wonders-all with my feedback each step of the way. She is so talented. Upon my arrival the receptionist made me feel immediately comfortable. During my salon time for hair color and cut the ENTIRE staff was friendly, welcoming and nurturing and fun!
I have been to many salons but this was top notch. Before leaving Jaquie did a make up touch up and was warm, talented and wonderful as well. Wow, I will be back! Thank you!!

Viewers Listen,My first visit to this Salon was on Saturday, February 7, 2009.The atmosphere is breathtaking.I walked in the Salon and was greeted by a wonderful young lady with a big smile, very professional.Here comes the overwhelming part. I set for about 2 minutes and a young lady came to me and asked was I ready? I replied yes, as we are proceeding to enter into the service part of the Salon, she stop and said, "May I have you Attention", and I was shocked thinking to myself what is she doing and she says this is Roz everyone and everyone in the Salon shouted, hello Roz, with so much excitement. I felt like a star, the look on my face had the Salon up in laughter.In today's society with all that is going on we need laughter.The service is excellent. I came back on the following Monday to have another service done, same atmosphere even on Monday, my hat goes off to the Manager and the entirer Staff.This is a wonderful Salon, believe it when I say it. Why? I am not a salon person, but I will visit this salon regularly.

Recently visited Selah Spa while trying to kill some time between meetings. The hotel recommended Selah and I scheduled a 60 min massage. The Spa was quiet and the staff was very professional and most of all the massage was fantastic. I make it a point when I am in a new city to get a massage and can say that this was one of the very best I've had in years. Would go back in a minute

I have visited this salon twice and had great experiences both times. Both times different stylist did my hair and while I was there I observed other stylist, I have to admit...I recommend then all! Although the ladies are serious about hair care, they are serious about their styles! At Selah Salon & Day Spa you get the best of both worlds!

I recently went to Selah salon and Spa and saw Lisa. The whole experience from the problems I had finding parking, to the actual haircut was fabulous. Everyone was so helpful and nice. I really felt like my stylist listened to my hair issues and came up with not just an effective solution, but a great cut as well. Being new to St. Louis, I was skeptical about my first salon experience, but after visiting Selah, I know I have found my new stylist. I highly recommend this salon.

I went to Selah for a hair cut and all over semi-permanent color after meeting Lisa, a stylist who lives in my loft building down the street. Lisa told me about the salon's Monday-Wednesday specials, and I was delighted to find that with the purchase of hair color I'd receive a free cut and style. Upon arrival, I was greeted in a very friendly manner, and was pleasantly surprised to find the salon/spa area was in a gorgeous and very spacious loft; from the street, one can only see the check-in/retail area, and so I had the mistaken impression that Selah was a small operation. Not so! Lisa and I decided to take my golden blond hair to a fiery shade of red/strawberry blond. My color consultation was great- in the past, many stylists have been reticent to let me stray too far from blond, and I always seem to just give in. Lisa actually *listened* to me, and was enthusiastic about making an exciting change. As far as the cut, Lisa was very conscientious that I'm trying to grow out my hair, and gave me the just the trim that I asked for--- unlike many other stylists I've experienced who pressure me into cutting choppy layers that my clumsy hands are incapable of styling! I could not be happier with how my hair looks and feels, because both my color and cut are A+++. I highly recommend Lisa, without any reservation! I'm in the service industry, so I find that I notice the caliber of service at a salon even more than the end result of my hair. The ladies at Selah were down to earth and wonderful conversationalists- instead of sitting alone with a magazine while my color developed, Lisa and I and the salon receptionist shot the breeze about our favorite bars and restaurants, and this week I'll be securing a reservation for the receptionist and her husband at my restaurant. It's the little things like this that please me so much about Selah. I absolutely plan to return- great value, great service, and great hair!

I always pass by Selahs while walking down Washington Avenue, and one day I decided to stop in! I was in desperate need of a bang trim and was hoping I could get a quick cut. Jacqueline Hunt greeted me so graciously and took me back to get my hair washed. This already was more than I expected. As she was washing my hair, I decided that I wanted to get my hair cut. I instantly decide that I wanted to go short, and before I could convince myself out of it we started the cut. At first I was scared beyond belief. Sitting in the chair, I could feel the pieces starting to fall and my heart rate starting to rise. The entire time Jacqueline and the other girls assured me it would turn out well. Needless to say, it was the best hair cut of my life! I have never in my life been given so many compliments on my hair, and everyone wants to know where I got it done. And it hardly takes me any time to style in the morning! Every day is now a good hair day and I feel very trendy. I would recommend Jacqueline to anyone!! THANKS!

I have been a client/friend of Selah's for about three years now. After years of different stylists and mistakes I have finally found a place that I trust. I have had some weird things happen to my hair in the past. Three years ago when I walked in as a new client I thought my hair was doing just fine. Needless to say, I was wrong. My hair was very unhealthy...dry, breaking off, etc. It took some convincing but I soon stopped having a relaxer put on my hair. Since then my hair has gone through a complete transformation. It is healthy, shinning and growing!! My hair has not been this long in years. And....it is not breaking off anymore!!
Coming to Selah is one of the few things I do for myself. I really appreciate the friendly environment and laughs. Every "Hair Friday" I know it is time to relax and laugh with friends. To the Selah Crew thanks a bunch! I truly appreciate it.

I was at Selah's 2 weeks ago, had a cut and style from Enita. She was wonderful!!! Enita had a great spirit about her. And gave one great shampooing. All the girls where very nice and funny. I felt like i had been going there for ever. When i'm in St. Louis again i wll be going back. I had a wonderful time girls, thank you!!! And they also don't except tips, I've never been to place like that. WOW!.

My visit to the salon was incredible. I am originally from New York and currently residing in Florida. I have had the same hair stylist for over 10 years. When I was frustrated because I was unable to get my hair styled at home, I took a chance and asked the hotel concierge about an excellent salon. She referred me to Selah. I was treated like a regular. They had a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. My hair designer, Jacquelyn Hunt, gave me the most wonderful hair style. It is sheik and fashionable, yet easier to take care of. She kept my long length as I requested but was able to do unbelievable sculpture with her razor and scissor. My hair is the most manageable it has ever been! I wish I could fly back to MO. for my future cut and style. On a teacher's salary that's impossible. Try it. It's inexpensive too.

I visited Selah on a whim to get my hair done for my birthday. I was overly impressed with the service I received. I think this may be the best salon in St. Louis. Everything about the business is professional. My favorite part was the consultation. I have never known for someone to care enough to put in writing what you want, or you will refunded. I could go on and on, but I will run out of room.

I visited Selah Salon and wanted a full transformation of my hair... I got about 10 inches cut off and went from brunette to mostly blonde. They even offered to send in my hair for the donation so that I didn't have to do it. I have never been treated more wonderful or felt more welcome at a salon before. Kristen took her time ensuring my hair was exactly how I wanted it. I also love the "team approach"...all of the stylists seemed to get along great and help each other out. I have never been happier with a hair cut or salon visit...their prices are very reasonable, especially b/c they are a no tipping salon. All I have to say is...you have to try this salon!! I know I'll be going back!!

I got the salon's name from the phone book while I was in St. Louis for a wedding. The service at Selah is excellent, the hospitality top-notch, the ambiance relaxing. I walked in off the street on a Saturday and was graciously worked in for a manicure. The price was very fair and there were no extras since Selah is a no-tipping salon. I highly recommend this salon and if I ever get back to St. Louis, I will be calling for an appointment!

This review is a little late as far as time goes but my sister & I have not forgotten the heavenly experience we had at Selah. This day spa truly lives up to it's name. The only thing I could do is "pause and reflect".There was complete & total pampering.My sister & I had not been to a day spa together.I on the other hand have been to a couple.This spa has won our praise. We were in town for the Joyce Meyer Women's' Convention & from the start of our trip to St. Louis it was stressful,tearful&tiring.This was in addition to the stresses we were leaving behind like martial, self esteem issues, & just not taking time out for ourselves consistently. My sister& I received wonderful haircuts by Rosalind Thomas. My sister also received a long&overdue full body message that released a lot of stress. She was also having a problem with pain in one area&the message got rid of it. She no longer experiences that pain. We both agreed that the scalp message was incredible.I only wished that the neck&shoulder message was a little longer. They exceeded our expectations.Prices were definitely reasonable for the high level&quality of service.We will be back in October & look forward to our spa experience.If you truly want the best.SELAH IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!!!

I visited the Selah Salon for the first time on Saturday after receiving a gift certificate for the holidays. I had never even heard of the salon.
I was treated like royalty from the time I walked in. The salon is beautiful and serene. I had a swedish massage performed by Trisha. I felt absolutely wonderful afterwards. My manicure was performed by Ondrej. Not only did he explain the process of his technique, he was also very personable and friendly. I would recommend Selah Salon to everyone. My only regret is that I didn't learn of the spa sooner. I am moving to Texas soon, but I will visit the salon whenever I am in town.

I visited the spa for a basic shampoo and style, but I left a changed woman. Everyone was so courteous and welcoming! The shampoo was an experience alone, including an invigorating scalp massage and warm towels. The only thing that made it even better was the care they showed towards my hair. It is an Aveda concept salon, and all the stylists attend regular trainings. A must-try for anyone who needs to relax!

My girlfriends have had the same hairstylists for over ten years, I've always envied them. For years I searched for someone who was extremely knowledgeable on hair care, provided excellent service and listen to me regarding my hair wants and needs. I have found all of that and more with LaWonda Brooks at Selah. It has been over two years since LaWonda begin styling my hair; the longest I've ever stayed with a hair stylist. I receive more compliments on my hair than ever. Strangers stop me to comment on how healthy my hair looks. I have a standing weekly appointment. I have high expectations; she always exceeds my expectations. The pricing is competitive with other salons I have visited.

I travel for a living and as it is with most the trust factor is extremely important in allowing someone new to cut your hair or give you a real manicure... but after I stepped into Selah the vibe and the atmosphere quickly made me feel comfortable and trusting.I actually arrived after 4:00pm which is the time they closed and they did not hesitate to accommodate me.I think that Ondrey was actually preparing to leave but fit me in and did an excellent job on my manicure. He is professional and passionate about his work and has a new client for as long as St. Louis is in my region and maybe beyond...

Today was my first experiance at Selah, but not my last. The staff went above and beyond to nuture my every need. The environment was relaxing and full of nuturing energy. The swedish massage was the best I've ever had in the world..Trish literally filled me up with peace, love, and joy. I am so grateful!

I had a beautiful experience at Selah! My first time the people around me treated me like I was a queen! The front desk personnel was exspecially pleasant to me, the hairstylist had great attitudes toward dealing with my rough hair,and most of all they made me comfortable! I would definetly recommend this salon to any out-of-towner or to any St.louis pedestrian like myslef!

I visited St. Louis this summer for a convention and really needed to get a pedicure. I found Selah on-line and felt it would be the best bet as it was my first time in St. Louis. I found Selah to offer a professional and inviting atmosphere. I was very happy with the courtesy and the friendliness of the both the receptionist and the service provider. My pedicurist provided a wonderful treatment leaving me relaxed, refreshed and my feet looking great!
I recommend a visit to the Selah Day Spa for both St. Louisians and out of town visitors alike.

My friend and I were in town for a conference and on the last day decided to get a pedicure after 3 days of non-stop walking. Being from out of town we took a chance on a place we found on-line. What an EXCELLENT choice! The service was wonderful. I highly recommend Selah Salon and Day Spa to anyone....and if we go back to St. Louis for next years conference -- we'll be making our appointments in advance!
