Dr. Shafron's staff is very nice and very caring. They fit us in at a time that suited us. His office is very kid friendly. He took lots of time with us answered all of our questions. He made our daughter feel at ease, spoke with her alot and asked her about her feelings. He set us up for MRI's while so we did not have to make another trip back to the hospital. We live 9 hours away. He spoke in terms we understood and he is very professional and knowledgeable. We are so glad that we found him. Most importantly he kept his word to us and you do not find many doctors that still do that. You will not be disappointed!

My little boy was shaken by a caregiver at 6months old, and it was Dr. Shafron that saved his life. My son is 15months old now and he walks and is learning to talk and he has made a remarkable recovery and to this day I feel whole heartedly that Dr. Shafron was a gift from God. He was put on earth to change lives and save lives and I have him to thank for saving my son. Without God and Dr. Shafron I would only have memories of my infant son, I am able to still be making memories with my son thanks to them. I recommend him to anyone that needs a neurologist. I speak very highly of him to any and everyone. I travel from Mesa to Phoenix just to see him.

Dr. Shafron is so amazing! When I was 16 weeks pregnant we found out our baby had an encepholocele ( which meant his brain was partially growing out side of his head). We knew upon birth that the part that was coming out would have to be removed. we were terrified b/c we were unsure about his outcome. Dr. Shafron met with us before Kyle was born and explained everything to us and made us feel so much better. After the 1st surgery he developed hydrocephalus and had a shunt put in his brain to drain the spinal fluid. Dr. Shafron has done 4 brain surgeries on Kyle and was with us every step of the way comforting us and answering any questions we had. He has such a great demeanor with kids!! Kyle is now 5 and is doing great. Thanks to God and Dr. Shafron our little boy is alive!!The Thompson Family of Anthem, Az.

When my son was 2 months old, he was diagnosed with Sagittal Craniosynostosis by his pediatrician. I read about the surgeries and blood transfusions and was scared to death for my baby. We were referred to Dr. Shafron by his pediatrician and drove the 3 1/2 hours to see him. He was very nice to our son and Chase took right to him. He explained everything to us and made sure we understood and answered all our questions. His nurses even came in and played with Chase while we were talking to the doctor so we could give him all our attention.
During the surgery, he ended up removing more bone than he had previously thought he would need to since once he got in he discovered that he needed Chase's skull to be able to move more freely for how bad his craniosynostosis had gotten. His nurses were great about updating us with what was going on throughout the surgery.
We are so grateful for Dr. Shafron!

One day in October we were going to get Halloween costumes. My 10 year old had been having headaches and his neuorolgist recommended a routine 20 minute ct scan just to be certain. 1 hour later my 10 year old son was admitted to the hospital with a 9 cm brain tumor. Surgery was scheduled 2 days later. It was the scarriest time of our lives. Dr Shafron spent time with us at the hospital going over every detail including the risks involved. The staff at Banner Desert Hospital Oncology ward supported us as we basically moved in. We have a large extended family and Everyone was there and concerened. We were made to feel at home. Dr Shafron ws there every step of the way, The surgery went great, and We think the tumor is gone Shortly after surgery my son had a fluid build up which had to be drained. The way Dr Shafron handelded that with my son was with complete candor, which my son appreciated. My son seems to be doing fine though he wants to play football and its not time yet. He will have annual MRI's to ensure the tumor doesn't come back..WE love Dr Shafron.

July 2004, my 11 month old daughter's life was hanging by a thread.. she had a massive head injury at the hands of the person taking care of her. She was brought in to the ER barely alive.. and she was rushed within a short time in to neurosurgery and Dr. Shafron just happened to be the Dr. on call. To this day, I credit Dr. Shafron for my daughter still being alive. He is the only Neurosurgeon I will allow to look at her and the only one I want to ever see her. He is the one doctor I fight to keep when I have to deal with insurance loop holes. Dr. Shafron is a FANTASTIC doctor and I recommend ANYBODY to him!

Dr. Shafron cares about kids. He worries right along with the parents when something might be wrong with their children. He is a very skilled neurosurgeon who gives 110% to his patients! The office is located at Phoenix Children's Hospital, which is very kid friendly. It is colorful and well kept. There can sometimes be a bit of a wait because he takes his time with each patient. I don't mind waiting, since I know he will give the same time to my daughter.
