I have been reviewing various provider options, and I have come to the conclusion that Mediacom just doesn't stack up! DISH Network offers three HD receivers for FREE, Free Standard Professional Installation for a six room solution and the Award-Winning dual tuner DVR as recognized by CNET and PC Magazine both Editor's Choice Awards. Get to a TV provider that cares about you and your service, I know because I work there! DISH NETWORK www.dish.com

I have been with mediacom for 9 years, I'm a senior and a Habitat For Humanity partner family. My rate went from around $38.00, then to $52.00, and a week later was mailed a bill saying monthly charge is $60. Never asked for more channels, livingroom gets the most, 1 room gets just a few, and my room now gets half of the livingroom and alot of channels have interference or are just not available even when paid for. I asked recently for an affordable price for low income, but they don't care. Service has been poor so I decided to disconnect next week. They don't care about customers, just said bring in the equip. Quit media-com they are ripping off the seniors and the poor. They need more affordable rates and better service. I had no complaints before, but now it is a money thing, we are paying for the governments mistakes. City of Ridgecrest should not allow this injustice.

If you happen to cancel your Mediacom, make sure you don't forget to drive the equipment back to the Inyokern office pronto! If you get busy working (heaven forbid), or busy with life, or procrastinate a little because your "plate of life" is too full already....be prepared!

The "sales rep" slash/ "collection monster" will come to your home and then come to your work and demand that you give her/him the equipment right now "dadgumit" OR $200 or "ELSE!".

And, they have no problem whatsoever breaking federal and state privacy laws and laws relating to the fair collection practices act as telling people you work with and people at your home (who aren't on the account" all kinds of false and defamatory statements about you personally (even though you've never talked to the rep or even seen the rep in person ever in your life). Yet....they SEEM to know so much about you and what a rotten person you are (they say).

Unbelievable! And, they don't just do this one time...oh no! They come back over and over again. The one that showed up at my house and my work acted squirrely and like she was spun out on drugs - no lie. I had someone in my office on the 2nd visit to my work, and she had no problem blurting out things about "give me the modem and I'll take it off your credit" - even after I had just finished expleting to her "now is not the time or place to discuss this - please give me a call or make an appointment as I have someone here in my office right now and we are working".

Do yourself a giant favor and order Direc TV or Dish net! The Mediacom cable highspeed internet is not bad but the customer service reeks and I agree with every statement made by the other reviews I read! Not to mention, that my cable cut out a lot, and the cost wasn't worth the hassle and the channels were limited on the shows. The movies rerun over and over. It's truly pathetic.

Ok so you call to pay your bill and get routed through the endless electronic operator. If you so happen to not have your bill in front of you and want to talk to a REAL person you are outta luck.

When and if you finally get to call the local # here in ridgecrest when you ask for operator you get told that the messages are full and to leave a message.

When you leave the required message no one ever calls you back.

So glad these are the only game in town. Would rather watch grass grow than mediacom if this is the type of service you get.

Well If you try to call them to start service be sure to have a drink and plenty of food near by. They have no problem with putting you on hold for 20 or 30 minutes. They also have phone numbers that ring phones that never get answered. Then a machine picks up and tells you that the mail box is full and no more messages can be left.... Then it disconnects you. Bonus!

I had quit this service many years back but was considering giving them another chance. They lost my payment. I had actually taken in the check and gotten a receipt. Well they lost it and it took me 3 personal trips into the MediaCom office each time showing them the receipt and them making a copy of the receipt before I finally just dropped the service.

Same old song and dance, it's par for Ridgecrest though...Poor service is something you need to get used to if you plan on doing business here. Many businesses, not all, but many act like they are doing you a favor just being here.

MediaCom goes one farther, they just don??t answer the phone. But look on the bright side?.they were not rude?.

Mediacom is a cable service company. Their service is relatively cheap. I have not had many problems with them. Some cable has many times when the guide doesn’t work or channels do not come in, but I have not had this problem with mediacom. Their staff is also very friendly.
