.

This is a new shop in downtown Ithaca. They have an assortment of yarns, accessories for knitting/crocheting, and some gift items. They do offer classes for both knit and crochet, and are very personable. The "sip" part of the name comes from their intentions to add a small cafe in the back of the shop.

I like going in this place! It has a nice feel to it. I do bring my daughter with me at times, but I am more comfortable not bringing her as there is a lot for her to get into, and nothing much to distract her from all the "pretty colors" of yarn and whatnots. I think it would be nice to have a small area with distractions for kids, so moms/dads can look around at their leisure. I realize tho' that many businesses do not want to invite lots of kids in, so maybe they won't do that :)

One of the owners is a Stampin' Up distributor, and has classes for stamping also. I have been taking those and really like it!! I have made some cards for the fall, and soon I will be going to a tag making class that I am looking forward to. I don't think the prices of yarn are any more than any other yarn shop I have been to. If you are used to buying your yarn at discount places you may get sticker shock, but this place doesn't sell anything that you can get locally at other shops (that I have noticed. . .).

I recommend going here! They have a nice sitting area, and have people come in to knit/crochet one day a week, as well as a crop on some fridays. There is an email that goes out with dates if you want to find out about any of those things. I would email jen at the contact email and ask to be informed.
