Spa Viva

Spa Viva was a nice little spot, located in Jenkintown. I first went there about 2 years ago, after being given a gift certificate for massage, and was pleasantly surprised by the nice experience I had - quiet, easy to get in and out quickly, nice quality massage.

So, I decided to go back on my own, and have since gone back maybe 10 times - all for massage. Unfortunately, each time the quality of massage has progressively gotten worse. I overlooked it before, as it is a nice convenient location and they were always quite accommodating for last minute appointments.

But this last time, the expereince was so bad, I cannot overlook it any longer. The quality of massage was so poor, I seriously question the persons qualifications and if they have ever had ANY training. It was beyond bad. My husband rubs my feet better while watching sports center, than this person who I just paid good money for a massage.

And then to add to the poor experience, when I went to pay at the end, the spa told me the cost of the massage was higher than they had told me when I booked it. That is not acceptable. I would not have booked it at that higher price.

I cannot believe I wasted my money and my time for this poor experience. Instead of leaving the salon relaxed and happy, I left disappointed and stressed by being ripped off and then treated poorly by the spa regarding price.

Spa Viva, - you have now lost a returning customer. I will never go back to Spa Viva.

I had a facial with Caroline at Spa Viva today for a spa week special. I came in referred by a friend for their spa week promotion $50 facials!! Caroline's personality brightened my day and the facial left my skin feeling fabulous!Caroline Spa Viva really knows how to make customers comfortable and provide superior customer service. I will definitly be booking with Caroline again soon!!

I have never been to Spa Viva, so I will not comment on the services or building, however, I HAVE been to West Ave in Jenkintown, and must comment on the parking issue several "reviewers" have raised. There is a public lot directly behind the Spa, so the only reason to park 5-6 blocks away is to avoid paying the meters. If you are that cheap, you shouldn't be going to a spa anyway. Jenkintown is a lovely quaint place to stroll and shop.

TATIANA is one of the most professional people i have ever worked with she does her job fast and easy and makes the experience painless. i got a bikini wax and honestly me and a second opinion feel it never looked or felt better ;)
shes a total foreign sweetheart and i simply can not imagine a better place or person to take care of me , thanks tatiana your the best!

My sister hasn't spoken with me for the past several weeks after I got her a gift certificate to this place.
She told me it was by far the worst spa experience she has ever had.
The skin on her face (from an apparant facial) was sore and brusied. The massage she said was a horror and the place looked and felt like a brothel!
Sorry sorry sorry-I won't make this mistake again.

wTatiana is the best service i have had in years. When i had scheduled a facial and i had the best time and i have never been pampered so well at a spa...tatiana and her cute russian accent just won me over and her services were incredible the whole spa had just a great atmosphere and i felt so at easy. i definitely recommend anyone to go there and have a good time. she will do you well

I would recommend Tatiana to everyone I know. She is the sweetest woman and when it comes to her craft, she is untouchable. She's been doing my eyebrows for 3 years now and I would NEVER go to any other person. Seeing Tatiana is an experience all in itself and definitely worth the commute (I live in Center City). I followed her out to Jenkintown after she left the Body Klinic (Center City) and even commute down to see her in the summer when I'm living 2 hours away..

Tatiana is extremely thorough and gets every hair. She's professional yet incredibly warm and friendly. MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!!!

I made an appointment a couple days ago and i had Tatiana for a facial.
With her working on me it was practically painless and very enjoyable i fet competely relaxed in the working atmosphere with no pressure or any other rush of another spa. I thought the whole place was surrounding themselves around my schedue especially Tatiana to add on to her skills and cute European accent she was a darling and gave me a good pampering.

so going back!

I went to this place to get pampered for my vacation and i had the best time. The people were very welcoming and led me through everything as if i was royalty. The service was great and all the employees were super nice.
I recommend this place for every occasion, I am definetly coming back and you should go there too :)

its very relaxing and affordable as well as luxurious. the staff was great and my waxer Irene was great and i enjoyed her service alot. She was very nice and made me feel almost at home

i went here with my girlfriends for a bachelorette party for a days worth treatment. we all had alot of fun and enjoyed our manicures, massages, facials and waxes. Colleen, my manicurist gave me one of the best manicures ive had yet and Tatiana was great during my paraffin facial. i am excited to keep coming back. i recommend it and all the staff working there.

i work at the Spa Viva for 15 years and its been great. a new guy came and i left. he named the spa Spa Heaven and started trashing my reputaion. some people werent happy that i went up the street and started my own business and i guess now theyre trying to make me seem like the bad guy. im sorry if your opinions about my spa were affected by these "reviews" and hope your willing to come in and find out the range of the services on your own accord. thank you, Colleen

this place was definitely one of my favorites, for as many places as i've been to. i highly recommend it and hope you had as good of time a time as i did with my facialist Tatiana. she led me through the process painlessly and in a very comfortable atmosphere.

Spa viva is an adorable little spa. Everyone is so friendly. Tatiana is the best at waxing and facials. I have been going to her for years and would never leave her. Do not believe anything else about her. She is the BEST!!!

I recently went to Spa Viva for a facial. I was scheduled with Tatiana and had an outstanding facial. I've been to spas all across the northeast (NY city, Connecticut, Philadelphia) and this was the best facial that I've ever had. I couldn't believe how meticulous she was. My skin has cleared up tremendously and looks great.

I'm not sure who's been giving this little salon such negative press, but in my personal opinion (humble, yet honest)-- you get superb service. I've already scheduled my next facial. Hope this helps for those of you looking for quality service!!!!

This place has the audacity to call itself a Spa!! Well I should have guessed by just seeing it from the street that it is nothing but a hole in the wall. The services were awful,the staff was rude and all they did was try to sell me their products,the place was filthy and noisy!
Never ever again!

When I found out Tatyana was leaving the Body Klinic in Rittenhouse Square I followed her! I didn't care if she was going to be doing facials in her garage...
If you are looking to have a great overall skin care routine you must go to Spa Viva and ask for her. She has incredible knowledge about skin care. Her facials are a monthly must if you are looking for a great year round complexion. I have been seeing her for 2 years. She has helped my skin stay clear through two pregnancies, only enhancing my glow.

Ok people, if you have ever been to The Body Klinic in Center City Philadelphia, you will remember the amazing esthetician Tatiana. Well she is NOW at Spa Viva!!! she started 10/1/07 and who cares about the previous reviews, she is now in the house. I was a faithful body klinic client only because of Tatiana. She can do the quickest and cleanest bikini wax around. Her facials are fantastic!! I found out just yesterday she relocated and had to see the new place for myself. The place itself is very nice. there is a hair salon in the front. You walk into the back where the spa is, the doors close behind you and its a completely different world. The lights are low, the couches and chairs are comfy. There are 3 rooms, each large and clean. They have a massage/salt scrub/treatment room with the shower heads overtop to wash ya down. Perfect! So go visit Tatiana. She is friendly, she is professional, and she has the biggest heart. I will drive the 35 mins from Center City to the professional because I know she is the best around!

For this place to advertise itself as a Day Spa is a disgrace!
This is nothing but a little hole in the wall behind a 3rd rate hair salon.
The servises were beyond awful as was the decor and the attitude.
Forget the fact that there is no parking and the nosie from the hair salon made me so nervous I was ready to scream!!

Well I guess you get what you deserve in life!!
I was told to stay away from here after Edith and Renee left,but being the know it all that I am I had to give it one last try.
Well what a disgraceful and deplorable place. It is loud-from the salon in front and the technicians were about as talented as a newborn!
My skin is still sore from the horrid facial and my back still hurts from the substandard massage.

I'm shocked at all of the negative reviews. I had my bridal trial there, and loved the service and the people. Rosa is truly fabulous & took her time doing my hair & worked magic. She & her staff at the hair salon are remarkable. The atmosphere is intimate, and what's wrong with that? I love that it's not loud and crazy! Great work people.

This was a total waste. What blatant lies this place espouses. After driving around for 20 minutes looking for parking we then were confronted with rude and totally uncalled comments by their staff. The facial my sister had was awful,the massage for me was like a bad dream.
How this tiny little place behind a hair salon can remain in business is beyond me!
Never again!!

It cracks me up that our competitor in Jenkintown, an old guy that wears makeup and a wig!, can still sit and write fake reviews about us, whats funny is, I guess he doesn't know that Linda has not worked here since January, yet he still keeps writing that he received a terrible massge from her, now how is that possible? Guess he was jealous she left him, like many others. So go ahead, keep up the obvious fake reviews, did you think noone was on to you? You really are stupid.

I had such a great experience, wonderful facial, taken on time, even given extra time! Not like some other production line spas in Jenkintown where you barely get the time you are supposed to! And everyone was very sweet, I will be back! Thanks Spa Viva!

This was perhaps the penultimate bad experience of my life with regards to a day spa. I have never had a worse facial,a worse massage,nor have I been treated more poorly than Spa Viva managed to shower upon me. After receiving this as a gift (from an ex boyfriend who obviously must have done this as a joke), I finally wandered into Spa Viva last week, only to discover a tiny little place situated in the back of a hair salon. After this rather poor beginnning I then found it only got worse. The facial was so poor that my skin is still dry and itchy. The massage,if you want to referr to a rubdown as a massage was awful. I am really not a very critical woman,but I need to say this is such a deplorable place that anyone wishing to pull a prank on someone should consider this-it is really that bad!!!

I am a 25 year old guy who if it weren't for spa viva i would have no self confidence at all. I go to spa viva every 4 weeks for a facial and a back massage. When i leave the spa, my skin feels flawless, and i am not afraid to show my body to other people. Before spa viva, i could never take my shirt off in front of others. Thx. Irene and Robin.
I never have any problem finding parking, and the front desk is very polite.

i do not know what you all are talking about but it is very odd that all of you have the same opinion on this spa. It seems to me that you all repeat the same cases without any concrete evidence. First of all, the size of the spa is perfect. It is the most well decorated and the most intimate place that i have ever attended in my life. If you guys are looking for a factory, go ahead around Jenkintown and you will find plenty of them. I guarantee you. I always go to this spa and to be honest, after a massage, a facial, a scrub, and a free lunch, i feel like a princess and i don't want to leave the place. Good job spa viva! Keep it Up.

Took my finacee and my mother here after receiving one of their discountmcoupons. A very poor choice. The place is quite small, very poorly decorated,very small rooms with a minimum of professional equipment.The desk staff was quite "cold" and seemingly uncaring, and when I voiced our concern over some of the rather umprofessional treatments, all they could tell me was "try some of our products"!! I did not buy their products,nor will any of us return here. I do agree with some of the other reviewers comments and I wish I had seen these comments before we went here.But, I suppose one must live and learn.

I must agree with the other reviewer that this is not what one should encounter when going to a Day Spa. The place is really terribly decorated-actually quite loud and somewhat vulgar.The staff seemed not to care or to know what to do, and the reaction from the massage "woman" to my concerns was "well maybe you shouldn't have a massage"!!
I am not a spa expert ,but for sure this is not a place that must get any repeat customers.
I can tell you that this is one person who most definitely will not return.

My sister gave my wife and I some coupons that she had received for this spa and my wife and I decided to give it a try. It was a terrible choice. This spa is really just three-four small poorly decorated rooms behind a noisy hair salon. The location is really bad as the parking was non existant and it took us 20 minutes just to park 5-6 blocks away. The services were rather awful as was the attitude of the staff. I had a headache after listening to their constant sales pitch for their products.
I cannot aqdvise anyone to try this place-it is quite a bad experience.
