Not only does this Doctor have the bedside manner of a dishrag, her office charges through the roof for average practices. I've had procedures done here that were estimated at half the price at places outside of Lake Oswego.
It worries me deeply that an office would actually REPLY to a posting a patient has written. That shows the office is unstable and critical of their own patients, when they should take the criticism constructively and make changes. I can see how their business is poor.
A general care for animals is not present in anyone in Dr. Kruse's office. Money-making is the driving force.

Pros: Location
Cons: Price, Bedside Manner
Dr Kruse is a special individual who can combine her love of animals and medical capabilities along with her concern for you as a pet owner, so that all of you are comfortable with her care.
She has been my Veteranarian of choice for over 12 years, and have used others only when I was unable to get to her clinic.
I do not hesitate to recommend her to anyone who is seeking a competent caring veteranarian for their beloved pet

Pros: Compassionate and very Competent care
Cons: Not close to home, but well worth the drive
I came into the clinic with their $22.00 coupon for an exam. During the exam only one additional fee was discussed ($60.00) which I agreed to. When I was writing my check they said today's charges would be $309.00 The only fee they would remove would be for a 6 month supply of flea medicine that they said we really didn't need! When I could only pay 1/2 the bill they insisted I give them a post-dated check for the balance. When I got home the receptionist called to tell me that she forgot to tell me that they would have to have an additional $30.00 due to the fact that I was not able to pay the bill in full at the date of service. I was told that they would not give me the lab results unless I paid the additional $30.00. I spoke directly with Dr. Julie Kruse about this and she refused to waive this charge. In talking with family and friends I find that their veterinarian experiences were quite different in that during their visits the treatment options and fees were fully disclosed and discussed upfront.

Pros: Clean facility, easy parking
Cons: Fees excessive and not discussed upfront
I decided to try First Street when I moved back to Oregon. It was recommended by a couple of friends and I'm glad I decided to take our new puppy here. The customer service and personal attention is outstanding and I especially love that they have a patch of green grass out front that is "Open for Business" so that dogs can do there thing (plus they provide clean bags).

First Street Veterinay Hospital is a great place to bring your pet. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Dr. Kruse is a wonderful, caring person who is so skilled at working with animals who are in pain or afraid. She is very compassionate about helping dogs in need, too. I foster dogs for a rescue organization and they always reduce my bill because of this. Thank you, Dr. Kruse!
