Was seen at this Clinic for an annual exam. No problem with the doctor. However, the front desk clerk is another story. She's a poor fit as a customer interface because she does not seem happy with herself. I've visited the clinic twice and both times, she's got a problem...but one could always be firm yet show a smile?

Anyway, paid my co-payment and was seen by a doctor who recommended an immunization shot. Uninformed that it would not be covered by my insurance, I am now stuck with a bill of $180 for the shot.

It looks like the clinic needs to modify their standard procedure and inform the patient if a shot will or will not be covered by Insurance so that he/she could make a decision before being given the shot.

Suggestion to Clinic Management: Let the patient know beforehand, like in the car repair practice where the shop needs to get you to authorize further diagnostic charges if it will be more than the initial estimate so that you know what you are going into if you want to authorize it.

I'm taking my business somewhere else.
