Greater Works Baptist Church

I've been a member of three churches in my life(as achild following momma,and as a man) before becoming a member of GWBC. I have come to love my church (meaning the pastor, members, and purpose). We are a praising, teaching, and doing church, with a strong emphasis on teaching. For how can we be doers of God's word if we aren't first taught. For this very reason GWBC is a unique church. While everything is done proper and in order custom and pagentry do not come before learning. I have been a member now for almost two years and the growth I have made since then has truely been a blessing for me and my family. I have children from 5 to 17 and they have grown since attending GWBC. My 5 year old son at times says things without being prompted that lets me know the Word is being taugt so well that a 5 year old can get, but an adult can still be moved at the same time. My 13 year old daughter shows signs of truely accepting Christ as her Savior and knowing that he was raised from the dead. It is turely a family church, with family, men and women activities. We recently had a beach side picnic for all in Copus Christi, TX and it was a blast. We stayed up after the picnic fellowshiping till the we hours of the morning. It was okay though because the church we were visiting started at 11:30 and GWBC starts at 10:00am for Sunday School. Since I have never been to a womens meeting i can only speak for the Men Ministry. We meet on Monday nights (excluding holidays) from 7-8:30. We have what I call a truth session, it is a true building block always with a word from on high. Pastor James has a real zeal for teaching men with a yearning for learning. I have come to believe he really loves it, not just because he devotes his time, but his efforts are so genuine and uncrafted that if you dont get it you simply dont want to. When I walked in for the first time I was blown away by the beauty of the church. Then when I heard the Word, man!, it reminded me of the good old days when the Pastor stood up, hid behind the cross, and let God use him so that the word could prick your soul. Not many feel good, milk filled, prosperity sermons here, but pleanty soul searching, life saving, unadulterated Word of God. I invite all who read this to come and fellowship with us at GWBC. I know something will be said that will make a difference in your life. Perhaps you may be like me down for what I thought was the count, until I LEARNED. Thats exactly what it has been a spirit filled learning journey that Im taking my children on now along with me. Thank God for Greaterworks and may God bless you.

I just want to say, THE WORD OF GOD, delivered so the Oldest person can comprehend and the Youngest person can understand!!
