She was very nice and professional, answered all my questions and explained everything; however, I would never ask her for an advice again.
I had an abnormal pap smear and went to see her. After taking a biopsy and determining I had a "CIN I" she wanted to perform a surgery (LEEP). Since, as in any other surgery there are risks involved, I didn't feel comfortable with her advise so I asked for a copy of my medical records and looked for a second opinion on the mainland. Two different OB/GYN said that my condition was on stage I, and, in most cases it goes away without treatment; the only thing you do at this point is repeat the pap smear every three months until it's clear (or perform a surgery if needed -that would be if reachs stage III). I waited, and repeated the pap smear 3 months later, and indeed, my lesions were gone. She kept on calling me (without knowing I had repeated my pap) and even wrote me a letter saying that, "as she explained to me before if I don't take care of the lesions, I might develop cervical cancer". When I called her back and told her my lesions were gone she sounded relieved, and told me "that's good, let me know if you need me to release your medical records if you want to start seeing another doctor". I guess she knew she made a big mistake and I wouldn't want to keep having her as my OB/GYN.

I am a former patient of Dr. Podach. I found her to be a very pessimistic, gloomy doctor. She was impersonal and egotistical. Don't seek her medical care unless you can tolerate a very bleak outlook on life.

Dr. Podach is fairly new in town, and she practices out of the Community Clinic of Maui. She is caring and concerned and a good diagnostician. She has late hours on Wednesday, and can be seen after you are done with work.
