IF you are looking for a great place to find fresh produce in the summer this is the place to go. Several different farmers bring their produce to the Market house to sell during the summer months. Get there early for the best selection. Parking may be a little tough but it is well worth the trip. Also inside the market house itself is housed several craft type stands as well as some other goodies for you to investigate. This is not someplace you could spend all day but you could easily spend an hour or 2 looking at everything. I love the great prices on the produce without having to hunt down the individuals farms to get them!! Great during canning season.

The Meadville Market House, built in 1870, is the oldest market house in continuous use in Pennsylvania. The market also houses the Meadville Council on the Arts. The Meadville Market House has been touted as "a fine example and one of the few preserved examples of early markets" in North America.
The building is just a nice tourist destination in downtown MEadville next to the renovated Kepler Hotel. They have community events here like Taste of Meadville, but this place has become an excellent Farmer's Market during the summer. Great prices and many community minded farmers who grow organic foods sell here. Inside on the top floor they have a cute little gallery and downstairs are mostly craft items. There is a bakery and restaraunt inside as well. French Creek PRoject has taken over the management of the Market HOuse and seem to have the place going in the right direction meeting the needs of people looking for locally made food.
