The sales rep was nice, helpful slightly pushy. If I didnt need 3 quotes and had two weeks to do everything for a 5000 mile move I would never have bothered with them. The sales rep said they could do everything that I was looking for which wasnt much. Storage in the area I was moving to until I had an adress and date for delievery. as well as someone to transport my car.I was packing everything and there wasnt much. I explained everything I had and they sent over a contract with a price and everything.Once all my quotes were in my company choose them as they were the cheapest... so cheap in fact my gut said it was wrong.I tried to convince my boss they werent right for the job but money talks... or rather not having to spend money talks. They regret it now.On pick up date they switched from weight to size of move. the price went from 1800 to almost 7400. And this was after having to explain over and over that I was not paying them a cash dposit that my work was paying for everything.Which I had covered with the sales rep. They took my stuff and after it was on the truck informed me of the new price and oh by the way surcharges for stairs and if the have to use a smaller truck for delivery.I had no choice at that point as I had to be on the other side of the country working in less then 48hours.My car was supposed to be picked up the same day... wrong again they were told it was ok to pick it up the next day. After negotiating again I had to drop it off....Once I got to the company to drop it off I again had to negotiate that they take it since the person I spoke to forgot to mention they dont take cars after a certain time even though they are open 24hours.They delievered my car without giving me any notice and instead of door to door like it was supposed to I had to take a train 50 miles away to pick up my car and again explain that the car had a deposit and I didnt owe the full amout before they finally released it.My belongings took 2 weeks too long as the sales rep lied and my stuff was not locally stored it was kept in Vegas. My work kept calling and calling and so did I... no call backs. After the overpriced move far more expensive in the end then any of the other quotes. They called me on a Thursday and said they could deliver saturday or sunday.... short notice but chance had it I was off saturday.I informed them I was off only saturday and unavailable sunday. On friday they left me a message saying they were delivering on SUNDAY... WTF.I called back again, explained again that i was working sunday and saturday was it.They said the boss would call... no callCalled again... boss would call.NO call. Finally called again ... oh boss said delivery 10pm saturday. Then they tell me they want to charge me more money cause they cnt bring the big truck where I live. And how am I paying them.I told them to contact my work all payment goes through them. When my belongings arrived they were thrashed. Boxes were ripped, broken dirty. They said they had to put some boxes in new boxes cause others got broken. One drawer on my chest of drawers no longer opens. My cat post is missing. They tried to give me someone elses tableI have someone elses box which contains a drum. Now I have to wait another week for my missing items, and to return someone elses missing item.Every step of the way after the sales rep is done they turn unethical, uncomminicative, and frustrating.I WILL NEVER RECOMEND THEM TO ANYONE.PEASE DONT USE New Planet Moving in Las Vegas for any move.
New Planet Moving and Storage was recommended to us by a friend and after speaking up with the sales rep and having all my queries answered I decided and set up mind to move with them. The company provided us top notch service, moving my things from a 2 bedroom flat to a smaller apartment and then taking the rest to storage room. The guys from the moving team were fast, professional and quite pleasant. One furniture piece was slightly damaged, and the head of the sales rep team himself showed up the next day with his toolbox to make that furniture piece better as before! This was by far the least stressful move I've had in a long time and I'll be calling you again for the next move. Thanks New Planet Moving and Storage.
We're extremely happy with New Planet Moving and Storage as they came out to be professional, efficient, and friendly service providers. My fianc and I have moved a lot and have never had any positive experience with any other moving company and the guys from New Planet Moving and Storage came out to be efficient, yet careful, not only with our stuff, but with making sure to place furniture in such a way as to not scratch the hardwood floors at our new place. The entire moving team with the foreman in particular was outstanding. You pay a little more than if you just picked something but it is so worth it to save you from all/any headaches. I highly recommend them!!
I used these guys to move from my parents house to my new 1-bedroom apartment. They were professional, very quick, and very careful with my stuff. I have a lot of IKEA furniture and a few pieces had to be taken apart, but they put them back together once we got to my apartment! I also ended up with an extra guy (I requested 2) for no extra charge!
From the initial phone call to the day of the move, I was very happy with their service. I would recommend them to anyone moving.
To start i will say, this is not my first time using a moving company. I have used movers both local and long distance 3 times in my life. I will go out on a limb and say New Planet moving and storage has been the best company i used. What i found the most helpful about this company was the strucutre of the estimate. Everything was clear from the get go. The actul exacution of the move was above average as well. I was very comfortable with working with New Planet moving and storage. I feel they are a good choice and i am satisfed with my outcome.
After my moving experience with New Planet Moving and Storage I think these are the right guys to call when you have to move. They were a lil early but it did not caused any inconvenience to us of them being early, they were professional and quickly hauled out my stuff with care. I didn't do the best packing job but not so much as 1 glass had a crack in it. I've used them before with similarly successful results before - in fact, they convinced me to take up a couch that I didn't think it would fit! If anyone is looking forward to move I would still recommend New Planet Moving and Storage . My only concern was that for some reason they did not accept card payment on that day and I had to go to my bank and get a cashier??s cheque prepared for them . Overall the moving experience was good.
We used New Planet Moving & Storage for a move last weekend and I was impressed. They were on time. The movers themselves were FAST. When you are paying by the hour, I think it is important to see a little hustle. They also paid attention to the furniture by wrapping mirrors and other fragile items in shrink wrap and cardboard.
They far surpassed the expectation. They do what they say painlessly. The prices are fair. Trust me. If you want to move in North Las Vegas, these are the guys for you. They just couldn't be much better.
I can't say enough good about New Planet Moving and Storage . My girlfriend and I bought a home and had to move two apartments into one place and we decided to call this company through a reference of a colleague who had hired them in the past and had a memorable experience to share about them. On the moving day 3 well built sturdy movers arrived on our location and were prompt, fast, careful and professional. We pointed here and there with a bit of direction and they were on it in no time and..this attitude of theirs was simply awesome and the price was super affordable. They got us moved in less than 8 hours. Thanks New Planet Moving and Storage.
I moved with New Planet Moving from Ohio to Northern California. They picked my items up well within the window of 2 days they initially quoted. The movers were all really nice and reminded me of my sons. The quote upfront was about $100 less than most of the other companies that I had been comparing. the girls I spoke with there were always so kind and helpful so I elected to go with New Planet Moving. Everything was wrapped carefully, and I had no damages to my items. I recently spoke with another girl there at New Planet Moving to let her know I was referring my daughter and her friend/roommate to move with them as well. New Planet Moving always answers thier phones, respond to thier emails and made me feel like I was the only customer they had because of the service I received.
I moved with New Planet Moving back in 2009, and again this year. I received my stuff last week and just finally got everything unpacked. The only thing is a small scratch on the corner of the back of a dresser that has survived 4 moves so far in it's life LOL
When I used New Planet Moving the last time, I had no damages, and the movers were very helpful. So I of course wanted to use them for this move as well. They were able to accommodate my new home (with like 30 stairs) and waived the charge for me because I was a returning customer.
I have also referred a few of my friends to New Planet Moving who have also had good moves. And the moving company offers it's customer referral bonus' so be sure to tell your friends, and get free gift cards and stuff like that. I have already gotten 2.
The rate was really a lot less than other companies. The lady who called me didn't bother me non stop so it kinda made me like her. She answered all my questions, and told me things in a way I could understand (being a rookie at moving myself that was important).
The guys who came to move me from the house were uniformed and courteous, and the guys who dropped everything off were nice too. I gave them pizza and they were so hard working they finished everything before they would eat one bite! I would recommend them if I knew anyone who is moving in the future.
I also got a discount for military so be sure if you are serving your country you let them know too.
They support the Troops!
These guys and gals did me just fine. The rate was good and stayed the same throughout. Every time I called they answered the phone, and were helpful. The movers who arrived to get my things were uniformed and clean. The main guy was a little short spoken, but super efficient and I felt confident that he would take the best care of my goods as well. When my delivery came, everything was in tact and I called to let them know of my satisfaction. They did ask me to please review them online so I really hope this helps! Thank you New Planet, and I recommend you whole heartetly.
I was honestly shocked to find that moving with a moving company was actually less expensive than moving myself. I had a great experience nothing broke and my price stayed where they quoted me. I will recommend this company to friends and family in the future. It cost me only $1400 to move 2,000miles.
it was cheap i moved over 2000miles and had a great experience, i had full packing service they did it all in only 6 hours it was amazing, and then no damages, it was so much cheaper then united and they gave me tips on avoiding brokers and scam artists i will hopefully never move again but if i must they will be who i call literally i loved the chick that i dealt with Lauren, and her associates were always helpful when she was unavailable
They did an awesome job on my move, another friend of mine moved with them as well and had a good move too-- I am super happy after reading a million horror stories that my move went so easily. I will recommend them for sure. I had no damages, they werent late they didnt change my price.
You read a lot of crap about movers and all the scams that can go along with the companies. After doing my research and talking to several different companies I chose New Planet Moving because really the girl Lauren was the only one from any of the companies that really explained things thoroughly and seemed to only talk about thier company as opposed to talking bad about every other moving company. And man some of these people were ruthless. Anyways at the end of the day I recieved my delivery and everything was fine, no damage or lost items which was really my only scare. Lauren had me over estimate my weight, and told me about the packing that I needed to accomplish, and I was ready to go when the movers got to my home. I also got printable packing labels, and coupons from thier website. My move was from Las Vegas NV to Denver CO.
As an insurance agent I work in a service industry and I know how hard it is to please everyone no matter how within your rights you are. Especially when you have a high volume of customers. I just got my delivery from this company and I had one issue which was a small scratch on my tv stand. Before choosing them I looked up a ton of movers and some were all bad and some were half and half. I figured if I packed well, planned on the worst time to get the delivery and took extra things, and gave a good list of items to the girl that I would avoid the issues. Well I was right, I didn??t go over the weight, the delivery took 8 days, which was 1 day longer than the initial quote. So I am really happy because they were literally 40%less than my quote from Atlas and they are going to fix the scratch on my tv stand as well. I will definitely recommend them to my friends and family members.
An honest review is years old--- one bad move a year i think is very good considering we do anywhere between 100-300 moves a month
Here are what some other customers think, the fact is upset customers want to make up everything they can and think to write reviews, happy ones send us an email that says "thanks":??It is my pleasure to comment on the service that was provided for a cross country move from NV to PA. The transfer of possessions across the US was completed satisfactorily. The men who executed the physical move did a fine job and all efforts were appreciated at the receiving end of the move. The load arrived in fine condition and the men worked very hard and fast to see that everything arrived safely. The contact on the West Coast was effectively communicative. I thank them all for the job well done and recommend their services to others who might be considering hiring them for a move? Patricia B.
??I would like to take this time to inform you of how happy we were with your company. Your workers arrived at my home on time and ready to work. I was amazed at how fast they were able to pack up all of my items. The delivery of my possessions to CA was also done on time. All of my belongings were in perfect condition. My mother and I are extremely satisfied with the service of your company and would gladly recommend you to others. We also appreciated the follow up call we received after the move? Barbara G.
??I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful job of moving our estate in Las Vegas up to Seattle WA. The whole process was painful and you were very helpful. I??d recommend New Planet Moving to anyone!? David T.
??Thank you for our move. We were very greateful to have our own 26??truck so our goods could not only come directly to our new home, but did not have to be reloaded at all. Thank the foreman for the good job he did finding his way around Chicago and the ??elevated? tracks. It is such a tricky town to drive in and he was a great help saving us shuttle fees. All the best? Meredith S.
??We would like to thank you all for a very, very good service of moving us to Florida. Everything went smoothly without no problems. You were on time, the crew was excellent and we would recommend anyone your company. Thanks Again ??Rueben H.
??I am sending kudos to your organization for their tireless skills displayed during our recent move. Your sales staff gave us a discounted rate, and allowed us to determine both the pickup and delivery dates. Your personnel packed and loaded not only my belongings but also those of my fiance?? for our relocation to Texas. This endeavor involved two residences and over 13,000lbs worth of household goods. As a former driver and dispatcher in the moving industry, I was impressed by the expertise, enthusiasm, and care excersised by your personnel. It will be my pleasure to contact your company when the time comes for our next move.? Ronald S.

I agree with "An honest review" by IronCapo at Citysearch; all these so called "good reviews" are horse manure written by their staff. Just look at the style and errors, all similar or exactly the same. These people are liars, scammers, thieves, and blackmailers who hold your furniture hostage until you pay more; thousands more. Then they damage half the load, not to mention that their trucks leak and half our stuff was ruined by water and rust stains.
The worst part is that this is all intentional fraud. They know in advance when they tell you to provide 500 pounds less of property (to be safe) and promise a refund if your load is less than the contract amount that they have no intentions of giving back a red cent. They know in advance that when your list says 100 items, then when the packers remove the legs from the tables and disassemble the beds and number all the pieces separately that they plan to accuse and charge you for "more items than what were on your list" so they can jack you off for that 75 cents a pound additive weight charge. And they know in advance that they underestimated the cubic feet needed in the truck so they can screw you again by saying you had bulky items and that's why your final, total cost is $5000 instead of the $3000 they guaranteed. And, they know in advance that they will call you several days later, after they take your furniture to their warehouse, that they will blackmail you for more money (and you have to pay) or they'll threaten to auction off your property. And, they know in advance that they will tell the delivery drivers to make up some excuse about not being able to drive the truck to your door so they can extort another $3000 out of you for "Long Haul" fees, that is, you pay more for them to rent a smaller truck and/or carry your furniture farther than 75 feet. And all this they did to us. You fat, disgusting, putrid, rancid hog's buts.
Well, I have news you, NPM+S slime bags! We have started a fan club for New Planet Moving and Storage, members welcome (search Facebook for New Planet Moving) and see what comes up (besides them). One site has a great photo of them as a fat pig stomping on their customers and flipping the bird. We, the fan club members, are sending out 5000 emails a day telling the world what low life rip off scum you are. We are also contacting every investigative reporter in every city where you have screwed a customer and asking them to do an investigative TV piece on you (to expose your extortion). We are filing complaints with every complaint service online, on all of our own websites, and with every organization that exposes fraud. You lying sacks of skunk feces, you said that your Better Business Bureau rating was really high, one of the best--it's a C MINUS! We're shooting for an F MINUS. Oh yeah, we're also collecting names for a class action lawsuit (if you can breech contract, so can we) and we're advertising in every newspaper in the United States (most classified ads are free, but we'll pay when they are not) telling the world what lying, thieving, destructive, piss-ants you people are and that your trucks leak, your service sux, your employees are lying, thieving idiots who can't add 2+2, that you hold furniture hostage, that you breech contracts, that you charge double the contract amount, that you damage half of what you move, that everything you do is dishonest, unethical, low-life fraud, extortion, and blackmail!
You think it's bad now, wait until we have 500 members instead of 50. And the best part is, no one has to lie to expose you. All they have to do is tell the truth about their pathetic, rip off experience with New Planet Moving and Storage. So far, we have a few journalists, several computer programmers (who know how to create programs that send out 5000 emails a day in five minutes), lots of students and housewives with lots of time to make sure EVERY complaint site has their bad reviews, lots of businessmen and medical people with contacts in the corporate and world and medical communities, and even a few paralegals. All we need is for you to rip off a few lawyers and we'll really be in business!
Attention World: If you hire New Planet Moving and Storage for any reason, you might as well burn your house down because the damage from that will be less and cost less than the damage these foul jellyfish will cause.
I am writing in reference to our experience with New Planet Moving from 06/22-06/30/11.
Lauren Alexandra was the first individual that my husband and I spoke with at New Planet Moving in May as we were obtaining quotes from a number of moving companies. Lauren was very patient as she listened to our questions and concerns as this was our first major move across country from Ohio to California. She followed up with occasionally after we received the initial quote as we were trying to make a decision. Based upon a number of references that Lauren had provided and I had made contact with the references, we made the decision to select New Planet Moving.
Lauren once again was very patient as I believe I had her walk through the inventory list three times and our list continued to change. She suggested that we slightly over-estimate which was the right call...we still had more inventory than what I had given her the final time!
Lauren said that we would have the person in charge of our move call me the day before they arrived, and he called as expected! Leo and Daniel were two energetic movers with a great sense of humor. They worked extremely hard as they packed up the semi-truck on a somewhat hot-humid day dodging one short-lived rain storm. I walked them through all three floors of our house and they did a beautiful job wrapping and protecting the furniture that I had not disassembled, as well as wrapping up a number of our large framed pictures. Leo gave me some great pointers as I was still packing the last of the boxes when they arrived. I was amazed at the precision of packing from floor to ceiling...I thought I was a good packer!
Upon arrival at our townhouse in California, Leo and Daniel once again did a great job efficiently moving all the furniture into the respective rooms, reassembling furniture, and patiently waited until I moved my cats to a different bedroom so they could bring the last bedroom furniture and boxes upstairs.
Although my husband fell asleep on the couch and my mom and I were busy orchestrating where everything was to be placed late into the night, Leo and Daniel were professionals.
When we are ready to move again, my first call will be to New Planet Moving!

I have never moved before. I went to some website that got me a ton of estimates. I went through an inventory with the first person that called me, and they told me I had about 4000lbs. So I shopped all the companies with the same weight estimate. When I spoke with Lauren at New Planet she informed me that most of the issues customers have stem from being over the weight estimate. Even though I insisted on not going through another inventory she kind of made me. Well she told me that my weight was 5,000lbs, as much as I was not looking forward to paying more for my move than I had been planning on with a 4000lb estimate, I elected to go with the 5000lb estimate. I went to the scale before and after with the movers to verify if I really have 5000lbs, and in fact I had 200 more lbs than that. Being that my inventory didn??t change by much they didn??t charge me for that 200lbs which I thought was cool. I received my furniture in tact yesterday got everything sorted out and called to thank them for giving me an upfront quote. There are so many reviews out there on each company so it was kinda scary. My recommendation to anyone moving would be to take your time get a valid inventory list and keep in mind that other people who complained about going over, would??ve went over with any company and that company could??ve gotten that review. These guys were great. Long distance moves suck but they made mine much easier.
I recently moved with this company and although I will admit they did call to ask me if I would post a positive review, I really don??t mind to do it at all. They did a great job the lady I booked with, the movers at both my pickup and delivery were great, and the dispatcher was super helpful. I also appreciated the fact that they always stuck to the initial answers to questions that I had. This is also one of the things that made me choose them. Other companies were changing the answers depending on when I??d call. I was very nervous to move with any carrier but I am glad that I did choose New Planet Moving because everything got here just fine and I will totally recommend them in the future. I think people need to keep in mind that if there is an issue with any company people always complain right away, but even myself I had a great move, and I wouldn??t have thought to write the review unless they asked. I did however send them a positive letter so I somewhat thought it out lol, Thank you guys I will def use you on my next move!
I recently moved from Las Vegas to California and used New Planet Moving. Like most people I looked around for quite a while trying to get the best rate, and more than that i wanted to be sure my items were safe. They offered me a rate on an exclusive truck from Vegas to here and I decided it was worth the extra $500 that they charge for this for service. A lot of other companies were charging between 2-3000 for this move, but they charged more at 3550 -- at first i was like oh this is too much money for me, but they explained to me that they include so much more than the other movers as far as tape, shrink wrap, fuel some boxes etc... so I went online and did a bunch of research and i have to say all the companies had some good, and some not so good reviews, ultimately I chose New Planet because they made me feel more comfortable than anyone else did. Every time I'd ask them a question no matter who i got on the phone they gave me the same answer. I am very happy to say all of my items arrived in tact the movers were really great and so was the office staff, thank you so much new planet, I will definately use you on our next move
I had a really awesome move with this company and after doing all the research i am glad i chose them. i gave a full list that i must have changed 100 times to the girl that helped me and she made sure we kept my quote accurate the entire time. When it came down to it i was actually under when i went to the scale. Delivery was a day later but i planned accordingly just to be safe. plus they tell you right up front that they dont guarantee the date, they try to do the best they can. hell, when other ppl were telling me two weeks, im good with 6 days going 1500 miles. anyway nothing got damaged and we are all set now. thanks new planet
5/24/11 Move with Lauren-I wanted to let you know how well the move went. The drivers went to great lengths to position the truck in such a way that I would not have to pay the long-distance carry charge. They also provided useful tips on assembling some of the items they moved. I would recommend New Planet Moving and Storage to anyone.
Thank you,
Bart --Irving, TX
You guys did just fine! During the moving process, I have changed my inventory list, made periodic payments to prepay before the movers arrive and have requested various changes be made to my contract.
Throughout everything, Lauren has been helpful and efficient. I have never dealt with a customer service representative that was so enjoyable and who helped me trouble shoot every issue that came up. She is an amazing asset to your company and the key reason that I decided to go with New Planet Moving and Storage instead of one of your competitors.
Because of Lauren's ability to turn the headache of moving into an easy transition, I plan on always coming to New Planet with any relocation needs that I may have in the future (pending the safe arrival of my items, of course!).
Thanks.
We recently used your company for a cross-country move from California to NC! It started out a little shaky on my birthday when the movers showed up and I had an impossible driveway to deal with. They were very professional in every way and re-assured me that they would work it all out and get us moved that day! They did an excellent job and shuttled our 5 BR home down the street, wrapped everything, and completed it in less than 7 hours! They were also very kind and polite in every way!
We were given a 2-3 day window of when our furniture would be delivered to our home 2800 mile away. I was concerned about weather and the possibility of not receiving it for the weekend when we had family help. Well, they arrived even earlier than we were told and did another fabulous job unloading everything off the truck! Carlos even remembered our furniture and the room it came from when I mentioned where it was to be placed in our new home, although it was wrapped. They placed everything where we wanted and nothing got scratched or broken at all!!!! They completed the unloading with only 2 guys in a timely manner as well!!
I would strongly recommend them for any move and will definitely use them again if we ever move again and I wanted to let you all know this! Thank you for a pleasant experience!
Except for a small confusion over payment options at delivery, everything went great on both ends of the move. Both crews were excellent. Our furniture was well cared for and arrived in great shape. I may have mis-heard you about "cashiers check or money order". I thought a personal money order from Wells Fargo Bank would be just as good. At any rate, the agreement for a cashiers check today at least meant only one more trip to the bank, rather than having to deal with the bank ANDthe post office while the crew waited. Thanks for all your help setting things up. Everything was true to your word. I would certainly recommend New Planet Moving to anyone else.
Sincerely,
Wes & Jackie
When I planned to move I called the local big guys united, allied and etc They came out and gave me estimates that there was no way i could afford. I was reffered by a friend of mine to New Planet Moving. I reserved my move and when the guys arrived they were uniformed, professional and very careful with my stuff. My delivery came about 2 days after i did, which was fine because i had some cleaning to do before they arrived anyway. I moved from Ohio to GA and the same guys picked up and delivered my things, which was also nice. They gave me a little comment card asking for this review, which i think was a good idea seeing as there are so many companies out there and i am sure customers want to know the facts. i wouldnt have thought about it for a moving company honestly, as i didnt research anything before choosing them. But overall was a great deal and service
This company had some of the worst customer service I think I have ever encountered in my life. Sure they were all dandy and nice when they were talking about money and selling themselves, but once you are in the contract, you are nothing to them but a dollar sign. I hired this company about a month in advance to move my 1 br apt in Texas, to California. we had a date set, yet no one could give me a time window in which the movers would arrive. I called several times to get the time and never could get an answer...so the day of the move I had everything ready to go and waited...and waited...and waited...nothing. I called and spoke to Lauren (one of the managers) 2-3 times in which every time she said she would call the driver and get back to me (which she didnt) The movers didnt show up to my place until 9 pm, and then ended up telling me they couldn't fit their truck in my apt complex and it was too late to rent a truck somewhere, so the move had to be postponed to the next day. I was already steaming...They then told me I was going to have to pay them 300$ because they have to go out of their way to rent a truck and do double the labor of packing and unpacking the smaller truck. I threw a fit but they wouldnt work with me. Lauren told me we would speak about a discount because of the issues at hand and how my early morning departure now was ruined. She ended up telling me I could pay 200 instead of 300 for the shuttle fee. HA..ok.
The movers showed up the next day, took my stuff and I finally left...I then called and spoke to Moses who is apparently the owner of the company and also a COMPLETE IDIOT. I told him that he was running a crappy business and that I would make sure everyone I know makes sure to never use his company. I tried telling him several times I could not afford the shuttle fee and it wasnt my problem that they brought a 70 ft semi to an apt complex. And after them showing up to my place at 9 pm which is completely unprofessional, I feel that I really deserved some sort of discount considering it was a 1500$ bill! He pretty much down talked me, and then told me if I didnt want to pay then he would cancel the whole thing. I let him know that any wise business person would rather take a 200 cut than piss off the wrong customer and lose business. He then offered me a discount...wait for it....$66
yah I said it $66......where did he pull that number from? I will never know. I am SO done with this company. Oh and when they delivered my stuff in california, my 1,000$ dresser had a gigantic chunk taken out of it. Awesome. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY and if you do, YOU WERE WARNED!
I feel like I should first say that I rarely rate companies on these sites. Occasionally if I have a great experience I will, but have never had such an awful experience that I felt compelled to warn everyone else. That was until I used New Planet Moving. I am not exaggerating when I say that this was the worst customer service experience I have ever had in my life. When I made my initial call the lady was very nice and SEEMED like she knew what she was talking about? And they gave me a lower quote than anyone else! I thought I had found my company! Let me just warn you that this is not the case.
After they got my deposit I had to call 3 times to get an email of the quote and when I finally talked to a manager and got my quote it was $130 more than they had told me (whatever though, $130 is nothing). When I spoke to this lady, she informed me that this price included everything (disassembly, reassembly, all the wrap, insurance, etc?) When the movers arrived they told me that bubble wrap would cost $150 more. After the movers loaded our stuff the driver gave me an estimate of $2,500. The original estimate was $1,500. I called the lady I had been talking to and explained that we did have more boxes than we had originally thought, but not $1,000 worth!! I told her we would like to take some of the items off the truck and bring them in the truck with us. She convinced me not to do that. She said ?Don?t panic. We will work with you on the price, even if I have to bring it up with my boss.? I FOOLISHLY believed her.
Of course after they had my stuff and $1000 of my money, this lady was impossible to get in contact with and would only send me through to her manager who was RUDE and spoke to me like I was an idiot. To top all of this off, the lady I spoke with said our stuff would arrive in 5 to 7 days? ?It would never take more than 10 days.? Well, here I am more than 2 weeks later, FINALLY getting the chance to rate these people. I?m doing this on my laptop because our computer isn?t working for some reason since it made it off the truck. I should mention that also. We have so many damaged items and I am DREADING dealing with their claims department. They have been so horrible, I can?t imagine them changing their ways now that they have all of my money.
I forgot to mention that when they finally arrived at my home, they tried to charge me another $175. They charge you by the foot that they have to walk to get to your door AND they say one flight of stirs is free, but that?s only if there are only 5 steps. Any more than that will cost you. As the other posters mentioned, I will be in contact with the Better Business Bureau.
I had searched for a moving company for about a month to move from California to Oregon. The staff, Marisa/Lesley, who answer the phones are always extremely nice and promise you the world. At first there were issues around picking up my delivery and if they could get a tractor-trailer into my apartment complex, eventually they told me and I?m quoting Marisa, "Absolutely we will be bringing a box truck." This is the first hidden charge they jumped me with, of course the contract has fine print and they brought the semi because last minute they got more business. They ended up renting a Penske truck and I had to foot the bill for their added business.
They were suppose to show up at my apartment around 11:00AM and eventually they showed up at almost 9:45PM and didn?t leave my apartment until almost 3:00AM the next morning. Originally I was told that the shipment would arrive in Oregon 3-5 days later, more fine print shows they have 21 days before they violate their contract.
14 days after my original requested date they arrived with their own New Planet Moving box truck (go figure) this meant my load was loaded on the Penske, transferred to the New Planet Tractor Trailer, Shipped to Las Vegas, Unloaded who knows where in Las Vegas, sat in Vegas for 2 weeks, Loaded on a New Planet Box Truck, and shipped to Oregon. Of course they claimed that my shipment was over its weight and still do this day (33 days later) I have not seen any written proof, in the end I had to pay over 500 additional dollars just to get them to release my furniture. Well as you can guess no matter how well you pack your stuff, if the people moving it around multiple times don?t take excellent care it, stuff will get damaged, sure enough?
My Desk that I have had for years that is made by a company no longer in business was cracked in several spots where they put the hardware back in the holes instead of placing them somewhere safe, My couch which was almost brand new had obviously been tossed around with little care and the seams in to different locations are torn, The hardware for my TV stand is missing, good luck locating that! One of my end tables was missing, and several of my boxes and their contents where completely smashed.
I started working with Moses (I think he is the owner?) to get this resolved, instantly he started patronizing me (probably because of my age, I am young and sound younger over the phone) eventually he said that he would like to resolve this internally between me and New Planet Moving and we agreed a dollar amount and he would be sending me the release form. I got the form and of course it was for a different dollar amount and the fine print basically wanted me to give up my rights to even write a review like I am writing now. The dollar amount was such a slap in the face based off of everything they put me through I felt my contribution in not signing away my right to let the world know about their horrible service was worth way more. You have been warned, they should change their name to horrible planet moving.
I hired New Planet Movers, the sales girl was the sweetest, but the rest of the deal I dealt with the RUDEST people, I could not believe they could run a business the way they spoke to me, the customer! They gave a time frame of when they'd arrive...they were 8hours LATE. I was told the max of 5-7 days to receive my items. (Shipped from CA to OR). I called into the company to check status, the man told me he "WASNT SURE" when they'd be coming. Every time I called, I got the rudest person who had no idea where my stuff was! THEN, after waiting 10 days, my things arrived...my furniture was bent and broken, glass items were broken, and the men DESTROYED my home. Also, they unloaded everything at once and let it sit in the rain until they went back for it, so my wood furnite had welts. I had the worst experience with this company! ON TOP OF ALL OF THAT, they quoted me $600 LESS than what I ended up paying them!!! Wish I would've read more reviews on this company
Thank you so much!!
This company has the worst customer service every. They had our stuff picked up on a certain date so we can have it delivered out of state by a certain time frame and the week we called to check the status, they lied and said everything was on as planned. I had to call them and still they lied, and the day my items were due to be delivered, they called and said they will be another week, at 5pm at night. This company misleads for the business and then when you have to speak with customer service, they are really rude and unprofessional. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE YOU WILL BE AT THEIR MERCY DUE TO THEM HAVING YOUR ITEMS. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
I would not do business with New Planet Moving & Storage again, even if it were free. In December 2010, they also let their membership with Vegas BBB expire. Be fore-warned.
This by far has been the most pleasant move ever. Great and courteous drivers, crew, and reps! It's extremely hard to impress me. I'm in the military and have moved numerous times, believe me when I say these guys are great. I highly recommend.
Horrible company. If you are moving around the corner they may work for you. If you are going anyother distance dont waste your time. I started dealinf with this company Oct 2009 and todate they have yet to resolve the claim for lost and damaged good. Do not use this company. THE WORST IN THE BUSINESS BAR NONE.
I was referred to new planet by champion movers when they told me they only do local moves, I did my homework and everything checked out. my suggestions would be take the time to go through the inventory and if you add items let them now. My move went smooth i am not sure if it is just luck but my last suggestion would be ask for a Marisa. I would use them again in the future.
After reading the reviews and comparing many, many prices, we decided to give New Planet a try. So far, we're in process of moving but they've "guaranteed" to get our stuff to us by the date we need it. We'll see how that turns out. The guys were two hours late, and should have called us to tell us they were running late with the previous job, but didn't. Once there, they were uniformed and professional. They packed up our stuff safely and creatively. We've never been with a "professional" company before -some things we were surprised at - the amount of money they charge for "extra" services. If I had known a few things, I would have saved myself ALOT of money.
1. Buy a roll of bubble wrap - the LARGE bubble kind. They charge 1$/foot. They'll use yours if you have it. Also -buy extra boxes so they can use them if needed. They are soo much cheaper than using the ones they bring. If you have something that's glass (Like a fish tank) Wrap it in bubble wrap, and then tape cardboard around it. That's what they call "a crate" and they charge 25 to make one. It's easy to do yourself. They did this to a few of our items, but thankfully only charged us for one. Also - they count 5 stairs as a "flight" and charge you extra for more than that.. which in my mind is ridiculous. I would think TEN steps would count as a flight... so be aware if you are moving to a 3rd floor unit. There were quite a few things they could have charged us for and didn't, which was nice. Also - I would OVER estimate so that there are no surprises once you receive your final weight. Have a company that comes to your house and estimates your things come by and give you a visual estimate, and then add a bunch to that. I would also get the weight of the empty truck in writing. Guarantee you won't have any problems. We shall see if our stuff arrives on the date requested. Or anywhere near it. But so far- so good. Just wish I would have known about the "nickle and diming" stuff they charge for.
well i just finished putting my computer together now
that i am settled in my new house. i just wanted to
express my satisfaction on my move. i was so nervous
placing my personal belongings in someone elses
hands. i have really nice and expensive stuff. i also
have alot of pictures that are very important to me for i
am an artist. so this was very important that my
paintings did not get ruined. i was very impressed with
the way that they were very nicely packaged. i did pay for
the full pack service because i just didnt have the time
to do all this myself. i watched them pack my paintings
because they are most important to me so i could not
stand over and watch them pack the rest of my
expensive furniture. i was very happy when i got my
delivery to see that nothing at all was ruined. the guys
were very pleasent even though i was very particular
about my stuff.
they did arive on the day that we agreed and delivered
within the 10 days that they said they would. i did go
over about a 100lbs but for my shipment i dont think
that was to bad. so overall i am very satisfied.
my move was smooth and stressfree. Im not sure what all the hype is about but these guys were great. the uniformed workers were experienced and very efficient. I'd definately recommend them to my family and friends!
I honestly wish i wouldv'e read these reviews prior to the tim e i reserved with New Planet moving, but i didnt. You know what though, my move was great, i had no problems at all. The girl that called me 100 times before i finally got her call was sweet and persistant. She made me go through an inventory even though i relly didnt see it neccessary, and boy am i glad that she did. I would've really screwed myself if i hadn't because i thought i had a lot less than i ultimatly did. The guys at pickup were really nice the main foreman was a white guy and the helpers were russian or something, they all came in new planet moving uniforms and with the truck so i felt safe. the delivery of my goods was just a little difficult to get confirmed, but in the end they did deliver when they said that they would, they just had a hard time confirming with me until then which actually isnt a big deal now that i think back to it. all of my items came together, there was a little ding on my sofa table which is why i did only 4 stars. I would have to say that after reading these reviews i am seriously like in shock that my move went so well, but maybe some people just expect more than they pay for... i dont know i had a good move, and i will recommend them.
1 month after pickup and still no stuff...I had to hire a lawyer to file a civil lawsuit (for grand larceny) to hopefully get my stuff someday. Take that in mind please; when this law suit goes through they're going to get shut down by the DA because they're nothing more than a scam...stealing honest Americans stuff.
The estimate they gave me for the cost of moving was off by over $3,000...and they still never delivered my stuff.
I read the reviews and even asked them point blank about all the bad reviews and they told me that there was no validity to any of the reviews, and I actually believed them. Don't make the same mistake I made!
This company is a scam do not even consider using them. Because of them we have lost everything that we own.
I'm still waiting for my stuff ......12 days !!!!!
How many days more you need?
Liars
It's hard to believe some of these posts. Obviously, management uses this website so you have to wonder how many of these 5 star reviews are them just trying to negate the 1 star reviews out there. Also, interesting how some of these 5 star reviews are from people in "Las Vegas, NV Metro". What a coincidence (that's where New Planet Moving is located!) Anyway, I am an ACTUAL customer, who received his furniture not too long ago.
At first, Lesley was very nice and accomodating. Although a bit unprofessional via email (some emails responses were with ALL CAPS, others with no sign off or signature, not emailing to the proper email address as requested, etc.), she was helpful and friendly over the phone. We were quoted a very reasonable price, so my wife and I were pretty happy thus far with our decision to use NPM.
The movers arrived as they were scheduled, and were very helpful and courteous. They took their time in moving our boxes, taking apart the furniture that wasn't already disassembled, and wrapped everything neatly. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the two guys that picked up our furniture.
Here's where the trouble started. We were told by Lesley that it would take 10 days from time of pick up to drop off. In her defense, I don't recall her saying "May" but perhaps she did, I don't remember. Either way, from these reviews, she's been doing this long enough to be able to give a more accurate timeframe than the standard "10 day" schpeal. 10 days comes and goes. I call corporate NUMEROUS times (7+?) asking when my furniture will arive. Here's their standard response (probably in some booklet):
1) Jessica just got in the office. When she's settled, she'll give you a call (SHE NEVER CALLS BACK, FYI)
2) We're still working on the scheduling. When we're done, in about an hour or so, we'll call you back, Jessica promises. (Did I mention no one ever called me back?)
3) You're furniture will arrive in X days (I was told on 3 different occasions (once by Joe, 2 other times by the receptionists), that our furniture would arrive on X day, only for that day to come and go without any call from the driver or corporate). THREE TIMES!!!!
At this point, we're thinking NPM is keeping our furniture and that we'd have to fly out to Vegas, rent a U-Haul, and drive it down ourselves. Finally, the receptionist (because Jessica refuses to talk on the phone, I think) gives me the driver's cell phone number. I worked with the driver and finally received some proper service.
When the movers arrived (who were also very friendly), most of the boxes (new when they picked them up) were unusable. I don't know what happened to my stuff, but some boxes had big holes in them, others had a lot of water damage to them, and boxes looked like they were jumped on. Just terrible shape. Thankfully, most of our stuff wasn't fragile, and I think everything we packed arrived. There was damage to furniture (warping in wood due to water damage, nicks and scratches, but I didn't care. I was just happy our furniture arrived).
In the end, it took them a OVER 4 WEEKS to deliver our furniture. I understand it's cost effective to group long distances moves together, but come on, BE HONEST. Tell me you're waiting for another order, don't jerk me around like i'm some sap who got suckered into trusting you with my stuff.
EDIT: If Management is going to twist my words, then I'll have to reword them. I HAD HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I DID NOT REQUEST A DELAYED DELIVERY. Unless you think getting the run around 7+ times, having my boxes ruined, having been told 3 times my furniture would arrive and not having it be there is good customer service. I will be happy to speak with you over the phone about this.
I moved with this company and just recieved all of my furniture and boxes in tact. I have to admit i was really skeptical about going with this company. There are so many companies to choose from, and they all call you and email you a hundred times a day. Each one with thier own schpeel about how moving "works"... I booked with New Planet because the representative took a TON of time out with me and answered every single question the same, each time i called. This was something that set them apart. Other people would tell me one thing on the first call and somethign totally different the next time i would talk to them. My delivery to New York took 11 days with New planet. I was ready for delivery as soon as possible, and i think 11 days is good considering Mayflower quoted me 3 weeks. I didn't read the reviews until after i had reserved, so that definatly made me nervous, especially when at first i couldnt get a straight answer on delivery date for my move. But the dispatcher explained to me that as the truck got closer to me, they would confirm the date, i stuck it out, and they did what they said they would. I have never moved this far before, and my experience really was great. I am glad that they pass out the comment cards to customers to write reviews on line, i would've never thought to if they hadn't. Thank you new planet moving for getting my items to me quickly, and all in one piece. I will let anyone i know whos moving, that they should use your service!
