I've been there several times. You have to know your merchandise/prices before buying. People check their phones for prices while shopping. Items are overpriced for the store. Yes, it is smelly, dirty, loaded with Hatian's looking for

I love World Thrift. The only complaint I have is that I see no other race working there other than Spanish people that can't speak English. What gives. I never see any one black, white, any at all. Are these people illegals or is the pay

World Thrift is bad. World Thrift discriminates against guys with backpacks. They demanded that I give them my backpack which I use as my wallet, since I bicycle. When I refused to, they said I had to leave. I said: "what about all

I'm surprised at the poor reviews for this place. It is a thrift/second hand store, for goodness sake!
It's not a benefit store, and doesn't advertise itself to be one. It's for-profit store, with a small portion going to Veterans. As far as the merchandise, one has to weed through it just like every thrift store. The difference is that it is well organized by color and sometimes size, with like items together. Also, like any thrift store, there will be inconsistencies in pricing, but most prices are relative. They are more expensive than most thrift stores, but the ease of shopping and the vast selection makes it worth it to me. Sure, it smells like a thrift store. Sure there are pushy customers with the grocery store size carts, which inhibits shopping on a busy day. It would serve them well to get the small double decker carts like Winn Dixie has. I've never had an unkind word or look from an employee, even when I grab something off of their rolling rack. I've never heard them discourage that practice. No, you can't return anything, so be careful what you purchase. They wouldn't have all those people there if they weren't doing something right. Yes, they will allow you to plug in and test electronics before purchasing. They will even 'hold' merchandise for you for an hour if you need to leave the store or the facilities. As I said, they don't deserve a bad review. It's a thrift store~ not WalMart!

The employees are very nice but the prices on anything decent are OUTRAGEOUS!The majority of items I find can be bought new for the same price! You can find great things here but the prices make this store a total rip off!It is very unfortunate because this money supposedly goes to a good cause.

So many broken and chipped items. Watch what you are buying and who you think you are helping when donating.
You are not donating to Veterans with this place. Only 10% of the profits goes to Veterans by law, but with their cash only sales policy, how much really goes to the Veterans? Donate to Goodwill, Salvation Army, Battered Women or the homeless. Lots of items are overpriced and electronics are sold as is and no way would they even give you an exchange even though you bought an item you couldn't check to see if it works unless you used it for at least a couple of hours. This place should be checked by the Feds for their illegal purses too. So many poor people don't know any better for what they are overpaying and are wasting their money. Sad they take advantage of people like that.

I have 2 little girls( 1 & 2) and have bought lots of adorable, "new" looking clothing for them here. Some pieces still have the tags. The toys and books are great too. We also love the VHS movies for 50 cents. I have gotten 2 children's rocking chairs for the girls here that turned out to be worth much more than I paid for them. Even better is that on Wednesday we bring Grandma or Papa and get 50% off of almost everything in the store. Sometimes you have to dig around but it is worth it. Sure it's crowded and can be a little hectic, but it's fun:)

Wonderfully organized by category and color. No mess. Bought name brand pants for my niece in great condition. With the financial crisis, why shop and buy full priced for jeans

the stench of body oder is so offensive and they try on the clothes over that filth
the prices are so high that you are better off shopping at walmart or you can do a clearance center as do as well.trust me I do a lot of shopping.
People are rude with the big carts and they will not move over or even attempt to let you by.
So I will say so long world thrift.Salvation army anf think thrift are even better..
As the truck out front . the vets do not get that money. They rent that truck and give them things that would normally get shipped to third world countries.
The store that has the nicest things is second chance thrift .pompano it's huge and some nice things

If it seems too good to be true, don't walk, run! A counterfeit Louis Vuitton or Coach bag complete with shredded leather, broken zippers, torn linings and the smell of cigarette smoke will run you anywhere between $49.99 to $189.99. The store will not tell you that they are fake and they present them as being authentic by showcasing them in a specific area with-in the store.

Most of the suits and blouse have either a stain, a rip or some kind of damage and if it wasn't damaged, the store manager demands that all of the World Thrift price tags pierce the fabric, including leather, vinyl and suede...leaving a hole in the garment.

Suede boots and shoes are ruined from the sticker glue from their price tags. The sole of the shoes have the price written in big black numbers across the bottom - so buy them, but don't lift your feet in public or evenone will know that you paid $19.99 for a pair of August 1995 pumps.

Cherokee brand t-shirts with stains are priced at $7.99, compared to Walmart at $3.99.

Cracked microwave safe bowls are priced at $19.99, and I've even seen a candle with a .99 cent Dollar Store sticker priced at $6.95.

If your interest is in linens, forget it! The ladies who sell them at the flea market bombard the carts as they are rolled out of the back room and on to the sales floor, only to be swallowed up in less than 2 minutes.

The loud speaker warns it's customers that there is no shopping from the rolling racks (racks from the back being brought out to the store) but there will be a dozen flea marketeers and ebayers fighting over the best of the best pieces as they are rolled out to the store floor, leaving no decent item for us regular folks.

The place is awful!

Pros: Nice music in the background

Cons: Over priced and well stocked with illegal counterfeits

I was introduced to the world of thrifting a few years ago by a friend, and World Thrift remains my favorite place to shop. They have a huge selection of just about anything you can imagine. I shop mainly for books and toys and never walk out of that store empty-handed. They are constantly restocking the shelves so no matter what you are looking for you will always be able to find it here.
My first stop in this store are the book shelves and I leave with a cart full. Their selection of books sometimes can rival that of a small library and you cannot beat the prices.
I hit the toys next with my son; almost every board game he owns has come from World Thrift. He loves how he can play with the toys and usually chooses 1 or 2 that he wants to buy. At their prices, I never have to say no.
A trip to World Thrift is truly a treat.

PROS: Price, selection
CONS: None
