The food is good. Nothing too ordinary but nothing to tell my friends about. I would eat here again. It's nice and not too expensive. Friendly staff and a cozy atmosphere. I sat outside on a warm night under the heat lamps.

We found everything in this neighborhood gem: great food, service and atmosphere! 5 Star Rating - World class

I usually don't review restaurants unless they are very bad, but in this case, my husband (who is an Italian)and I wanted to share our favorite italian restaurant with everybody. We've been going to Capannina regularly for a while. Althought we try new restaurants all the time, this restaurant is still our find. When we want to make sure we have a perfect dinner experience we go there. We had a large dinner party there once and everybody was so impressed by the service and food. All glasses were always filled, the waiters were friendly and the dishes came in timely fashion, all at the same time. The food was great! We just enjoyed ourselves and they did the rest. The owner and the staff are always so nice and make us feel welcome. The ambiance is refined and cozy. It's never too loud even tough the place is always full. But the best is the food! The dishes are well presented and in decent portions, and everything we ever ordered has always been delicious! We could not forget the tiramisu... soooo good!
I recommend to make reservations before you go on weekends.

Pros: ambiance, food and service
Cons: parking

Wonderful food and superb service 5 Star Rating - World class

My sister and I share dinner about twice a month when she visits from Sacramento. Last night was the third time we visited and have yet to be disappointed. The food is always superior and the service is friendly and as it should be. Don't make the mistake of skipping dessert as they are absolutely wonderful. This is truly one of our favorite spots.

Pros: Good size portions, pleasant intimate ambience, great flavors
Cons: parking can be difficult in this neighborhood

Great food and great service! 4 Star Rating - Very good

I had dinner here w/ some friends this past weekend. The food was fantastic! I had the gnocchi w/ the wild boar, my friends had the cioppino, the steak and the seafood special. We all had a taste of each other's entree and all of it was super good. Oh and the dessert - we shared a pear tart w/ vanilla ice cream - let's just say I wanted 2nd's and if I wasn't full I would've had 2nd's. Our waiter was excellent, very helpful with everything - recommeneded a great Chianti. The decor was very cool too, great art work.

Pros: Food, staff
Cons: can't think of any

Perfect ! Great Service and Great Food 5 Star Rating - World class

What a wonderful discovery ! After learning that our old favorite (Bonta) had closed, and our old reliable( Prego') had gone downhill, we were so pleasantly surprised to encounter this incredible restaurant. Wonderful food, SUPERB service ( they treated us like we had been coming there for 10 years), and an overall great experience -

Pros: Service, Wine Selection, RISOTTO !!!

Are You In Or Out 4 Star Rating - Very good

Impressive Italian food. The wine list is also quite good, including a number of great wines by the glass. The servers are friendly and professional. However, the owner appears to divide the diners into two categories -- ask for an after dinner limoncello and to find out where you stand.
