this is the only trainer to use
I took my dog through three of Sue's classes, and the fourth class is free. we just love how funny she is, and how she keeps the class interested, all the time. She includes a training mat, leash, training aids the bean bag and correctino spray, and a training booklet. She should charge more. All the dogs quit jumping up by the second week. I was in a class that used those annoying clickers, which are a pain to use and scared my dog. This class was the best money you can spend on a dog. This is the trainer who treats you dog as gently as they all should. Richard Piper...anyone who posts anonymously is probably competitor

"Auntie" Sue and her classes
I was referred to Sue Myles and Companion Dogs by my veterinarian's office after being very unsatisfied with a previous training experience.
I cannot recommend her enough. We had an in-home lesson, where she explained that (unlike the first trainer's evaluation), my dog was NOT aggressive, but was defensive. She also suggested not working privately, but having me bring her to class where she could get the exposure and socializing she needed which, by the way, was much less expensive! The other training company had recommended a boarding program at a cost of thousands of dollars to address her "aggression issues."
The class was wonderful! Everyone (and I mean everyone, dogs and people) had a spectacular experience! My dog is now admired for her good manners and behavior in ANY situation, thanks to Sue!
Sue was informative, funny, and thoughtful. Yes, she did try and sell products, but she is, after all, a business woman as well as a wonderful dog trainer.
I have and will continue to recommend her highly.

Sue's classes
I liked her classes very much. She is the 3rd trainer I've worked with and absolutely the best! And, yes, she is very entertaining-we all laughed alot; and learned alot, too.
I also liked that she had things for sale, as it saved me an extra trip to a pet store.

Too sales oriented
sells food and stuff, and sells in her classes too. Positive reinforcement is good, but there are lots of positive reinforcement trainers around now, and many are not as commercial....

Good but very commercial
Sue was funny! but, every class she tried to sell us some product or other, and she was too busy to do our final class, so she had someone call us to cancel, and we didn't get any kind of refund...very expensive class, too. I like that it is force-free, but I wish it was correction-free--- we sprayed the dogs, she recommends rattle cans...Still better than many trainers!

Best Dog Trainer Ever!
I decided to enroll my puppy into Sue's puppy obedience class after finding her website and reading up on her training techniques. I was really interested in it because she uses positive, force-free training without the use of choke or shock collars. She is wonderful! Her training techniques work and she really understands and loves dogs. She is very friendly, helpful, fun and you can tell that she cares about your pet. You always learn something new in class and it's entertaining. She tries to humor the class with her jokes and is always willing to talk to you if you need help and she always responds to emails. We even enrolled in her basic obedience class after the puppy class because she is the best trainer ever. The price of her group classes may be on the pricey side, but it is definitely worth it. If you want a dog trainer that has over 30 years of dog training, uses force-free methods, cares about your dog and enjoys what she does, sign up for one of Sue's group classes, you won't regret it!
PROS: Training methods work; trainer is friendly, fun, caring, helpful
CONS: Somewhat pricey (but worth every penny)
