I get why people in Berkeley and the Bay Area rave about "Love at First Bite"- it's conveniently located in Walnut Square, has a friendly ambiance, offers unique cupcakes like Matcha Green Tea, and is pretty much the only cupcake store of it's kind but these same people who rave of LAFB have obviously never been to somewhere more like Sprinkles in LA. My sister, my BF and I who all have had Sprinkles cupcakes (though I will admit that Sprinkles has way too much frosting) all said the same thing, their cupcakes are DRY! I like the cream cheese frosting on the red velvet cupcakes but the cake part, my favorite part, is so dry and just breaks apart. The cupcakes are comparable to the ones I can make myself at home and are definitely not worth $3. However, since this seems to be the only opinion for cupcakes in Berkeley, I guess it is OK.

It's pretty much just cakes, cookies, and of course cupcakes. The cupcakes all have little names like "Red Hot Love" and "Ginger Babycakes". They're all really good, from-scratch cupcakes. They're kinda expensive, but I think well worth it. It's really a whimsical idea to go to a cupcakery but I like that Berkeley has places like this.
