I visited this Centra Care because my eye was very swollen, pink tinted, very uncomfortable feeling and crusty in the morning. I had an eye exam at this location. Dye was put in my eye and a special light was used to scan for foreign objects. I was diagnosed with conjunctivitis (pink eye), not a foreign object, not allergies. I was prescribed a bottle of eye drops. The exam and the drops cost close to $200.

It was a pretty severe case and after using the drops for two weeks the eye drops are clearly diminishing the severity of the problem, but they're not entirely healing my eye. I'm still waking up with a little crust, my eye is still swollen and at times has a pink-ish hue. I was told at the time of my first appointment that the strength of the prescription drops I was being given may not fully resolve my problem, but not to worry, they can prescribe stronger drops.

I called back two weeks later and was told that the doctor I saw the day of my visit would be in the following day and to call back then and he'd give me the stronger prescription without charging me another $160 for an office visit. I did as instructed and was told that I did indeed need to come back into the office for another exam. I was shocked. This whole time I've been told that these drops may not be strong enough, don't worry if they're not we'll give you the stronger drops, but we want to start off with these because of drug resistance, we won't charge you for another expensive eye exam.

I feel lied to and frankly, not cared for at all. I feel like the Centra Care is clearly more interested in being paid as much as they can and not actually caring about the patient. I'm willing to take time out of my workday to go back to be re-checked, I'm even willing to pay a reduced follow-up office visit, but to pay full-price twice because they were unwilling to give me the prescription they were pretty sure I needed in the first place... I feel very taken advantage of and the worst part is after $200 and two weeks worth of treatment, I'm not healed. My eye is still infected and now I have to start from square one to find someone to treat it.

Thanks Centra Care for wasting my time and money. Eyes are indeed delicate things and should be taken care of properly, I entirely agree. Hopefully, the next health care provider I visit will practice that sentiment instead of using it as a way to garner additional payment. Remember that first, do no harm thing?

I'd certainly recommend you go someplace else if you're not interested in being over charged and made to feel unimportant as a living human who needs assistance to be healed.

If you want a friendly, caring, compassionate experience, then wait for an appt with your GP; if you need meds NOW, go to Centracare.
Centracare is convenient in that you can make an appt online, get in same day, and get meds on site; however, don't expect a smile, a greeting, a caring attitude, a good-bye, or any other courtesy from ANY employee, receptionist to nurse to physician.
By the way, don't expect a correct diagnosis either - not a lot of probing past "How are you feeling"
PLEASE follow-up with your doctor or specialist!

DO NOT GO THERE! My wife had an issue with her eye so she went in and saw the doctor. He prescribed medication and asked her to come back the next day.

So she went in the following day (as requested) and was seen by another doctor. He told her that he couldn't tell if it was better because he didn't originally see her. So he told her to come back the next day. If they knew the original doctor wasn't going to be there the next day, then they shouldn't have scheduled her then. We paid two co-pays and they wanted us to come back and pay a third co-pay.

This is unsatisfactory because if they knew the doctor wasn??t going to be there, then they should have rescheduled the appointment when he was going to be there. My wife spoke with the manager and he said there was nothing he could do. So we paid for services not rendered. BUYER BEWARE!

I had been to this facility years ago and was very pleased with the quality of care, that I received, so when my husband needed after hours care, I chose to drive him across town to this facility.

The nurses could not have been more helpful. I spoke with two nurses on the phone, Steve and Jackie, prior to bringing my husband to Oviedo Centra Care. Both nurses were terrific, answered my questions, and once there, Jackie, who was on duty, was just as good in person as she was over the phone.

The facility is clean, the wait time was very reasonable compared to what it would have been had we gone to the ER. ( we have waited as long as six hours at WPMH ER when my husband fell from a twelve foot scaffolding and "triage" didn't feel that a blow to the head and an injury to his ribcage were an "emergency", and we eventually walked out as my husband could no longer stand the pain of sitting in the chair and waiting),

The doctor, John Feenburg, an osteopath, had a very pleasant demeanor and zeroed in on the problem right away. He did not 'talk down' to either of us, and more importantly, he immediately honed in on the most probable reason for my husband's recurrent fever. He prescribed the appropriate medication for the problem and gave us a print out detailing his verbal instructions. As an aside, I have found from past experience that osteopaths are very good diagnosticians.

For example, Dr. Feenburg not only did a urinalysis, but he ordered a culture and sensitivty. When the results came back, Carol at Centra Care phone us immediately and faxed the results to us so that Dr. Gundian, my husband's wonderful urologist, could make the change to the appropriate antibiotic. This is an example of how a doctor's attention to detail can mean the difference between getting to the crux of a medical issue or just putting a "bandaid" on a problem. I am very grateful to both Dr. Feenburg and Dr. Gundian for their expertise and their willingness to think out of the box and go that extra mile to see that their patients get the best of care and diagnostics.

I am very pleased with this facility, I highly recommend them, and I would not hesitate to use them in the future should the need arise.
