I just had to drop you folks a note to let you know how much I appreciate your thoughtful, caring and professional services. As you know we first met at a somewhat difficult time in my life as my husband was fighting the fight of his life battling cancer. At the time it was so important to get good heating in the living room to make him comfortable. You folks were wonderful in dealing with a difficult installation as well as the circumstances in general. He loved the wonderful, warm heat that was generated by the fireplace insert. Since then you continue to offer the same personal, caring and professional services as were rendered when we first met. My story goes beyond this...at the time of the installation a facade was installed that was not very practical. At the time my priorities were elsewhere. You said you would follow up with me and we could work on getting it right...I really did not expect anything to happen. But alas! 18 months later a call came and you came to my home with a resolution and quickly made things right! At no additional expense and with a wonderful smile! You folks are awesome and went well beyond good customer service. It is so refreshing to have folks do what they say: keep in touch with personal phone calls; and to be so very professional. Kudos to you all and please keep up the good service! I will continue referring folks to you at every opportunity. Keep up the good work, Nancy Miller.

I could never recommend anybody unless I was sure they were really good. Kidd Fire Place installation installed our gas fireplace in our living room. Gas fireplaces are great! We have a split level home and the fireplace heats the entire first floor and upstairs floor rooms. We were so happy we purchased another one for the ground floor rooms, and we definitely wanted only Kidd to install it. These people lay down drop cloths and tarps, show up on time, and don?t mess around. Terry and Jason were the installers and they went right to work. Expert installation! I am 62 years old?grew up in the 50s and 60s when craftsmen and tradesmen did the job right the first time, these fellows are like that. Kidd Fireplace Installation is excellent at what they do!

I called three companies in San Francisco who sell gas fireplaces and they each recommended that I contact Kidd for service and repair. I'm glad I called them. With regards to scheduling, Kevin was very responsive. With regards to service and repair, Randy showed up on time, was very professional, and did a great job. He clearly thought through the problem with my fireplace and he was able to make the repair immediately (same visit). The cost was very reasonable and fair.

We've had many contractors in our home during the past six years and I can tell when someone cares enough to do a good job. Kevin and Randy are top notch. I highly recommend them.

Pros: Responsive scheduling. On-time arrival. Repair completed. Fair price.

I have a 10 year old Jotul 3 Classic direct vent fireplace in my bedroom. I bought it from Okell,
here in San Francisco. When I contacted them about the problem I was having -- pilot stayed on, but the
burner wouldn't ignite -- it was clear they like to sell things but have little or no interest
in making repairs. I'm grateful to have had Kidd Fireplace Services recommended to me
by another company. I had no problem making an appointment with Kidd; they called me
back within 24 hours. Randy showed up at my house on schedule and pitched right in with
enthusiasm. His familiarity with the unit and it's likely ailments was obvious. He also gave me
reassurance that he would stand by his work and see the job through to a successful outcome.
That's exactly what he did. I found him to be thorough, careful (including the clean-up), and
good to his word about seeing things through. My fireplace now works fine. The charges,
including labor and parts were entirely reasonable and consistent both with what he'd told
predicted as likely and with what I'd found to be the price (of parts) by my independent research.
Another thing: some of these parts aren't exactly easy to come by, but Randy keeps his truck
well-stocked. He had everything he needed in order to replace both the thermopile and the
thermocouple of my unit, so no time was wasted with having to order and wait for them.

Pros: on time, saw the job through to success, had needed parts, was honest & fair on price

Cons: none I can think of

Do not hire Kidd Fireplace Services. We were overcharged and treated rudely, and no actual work was done at all.

We have had a lot of repair work and contractors in our house over the past year and have never been treated so rudely and overcharged to this degree.

I usually don't write reviews, but my experience with Kidd Services was so exceptional that I felt prompted to write. Kidd Services installed a pellet stove insert in our old fireplace. Every interaction with them was timely, clear, direct, and professional. When they told me that they would call me back, they did. When they told me they would be at my house at a particular time, they were. Everything was performed with a conscientiousness and an accuracy that I find rare. It was a joy to work with people who obviously care about giving great service, and who care about their business! I trusted them. What higher compliment is there than trust?
