An Italian Experience in Charlotte?

by Steven D.

Yes!

Located in the Myer Park area of Charlotte, lies a little taste of Italy, via Upper New York.

This is not a chain experience. The sauces are made fresh to order and most of the pasta is made on site. A wide variety of pasta dishes, salads and pizzas are on the menu. For an appetizer try the pear or tomato salads. As an entry, For dinner delight with chicken or egg plant parmagian or any of their specialty raviolis, rigatonis or fettucinis. For dessert, the tiramisu is the best I have ever tasted and a homemade chocolate cake provides a delicious but lighter alternative.

I highly recommend Zio's. And it is no wonder that I always seem to provide an easy cleaning for the dishwashing crew.

I highly

Great "to go" pizza from this quaint little restaurant

by sh21

First off, let me say that I have only had the pizza here, but thats all it took to get me coming back for more. Tucked away in a little underground house looking building off of Middleton Rd (Providence in Myers Park) is Zio. I was introduced to this pizza from a friend who had picked up a couple pizzas for dinner, and as soon as they came in the door I knew they were special.

Uniquely designed for carry out, they do not come in a box, but instead come in a restaurant made butchers paper contraption (trust me its effective and safe). The pizza always smells fresh and is a truly authentic brick fired oven pizza. Thin crust, little sauce, fresh mozarella and a variety of toppings to suit your taste.

The pizzas are fair in price around 10-12 bucks for a pie and worth every penny.

The other food looks pretty good too, just haven't had the chance to sit down and give a go at the menu.

Pros: Great Pizza, Good Atmosphere

Cons: Can be difficult to find

Wonderful low key family location which is also a GREAT deal!

by jennykree

I cannot begin to tell you just how much I LOVE this place. My husband and I found it on a whim and we are so very grateful that we did. The food is very, very authentic and extemely delicious. In fact, this is my favorite restaurant in the city. Please keep the good food and great service coming! I tell people about your restaurant all the time because I want to make sure that you do well. The people are SO nice and the ambience cannot be beat. Once you get your bill, you will be surprised as well. You cannot eat at a chain restaurant for what you can eat a wholesome, authentic meal for at Zio's.

Pros: Ambience, Parking is good, Food is AMAZING, Service is great too!

Cons: None

best pizza, great value, hidden gem, excellent pasta, salads

by aladist

I almost hate to write this because I want to keep it to myself, but this is really a hidden gem in the city. Really a true neighborhood place with great food. Very friendly and relaxed. Service is quick, food is excellent and the prices are embarrassingly cheap. If your looking for steaks or seafood this isn't it, but what they do, they do well.

Pros: food, neighborhood friendly

BEST PIZZA IN CHARLOTTE...FULL OF UPSTATE NEW YORKERS...FAMILY ORIENTED

by marque1_99

Zio is a place to go and have a great dinner without the worry of dressing up. Plenty of kids at Zio's if thats cool, lots of nieghbors...everyone is friendly. Do not expect the fancy table service or the best wine presentation, however, the food is great for the price. They do not take reservations but the wait might be about 30 minutes on the weekend....there is always a line. I think that is cool...better than making a reservation and waiting. They dont really on being too fancy...very cozy!. on the weekends it is good to go after 9pm. They do have pick-up.

Pros: parking,food,value

Cons: small wait on weekends
