Brought my cat in for some dental work. SAH kept her overnight. They gave her third degree burns on her stomach that my wife and I discovered the next day. It was awful. They put her on some kind of overheated water bottle (never did get full explanation). What was worse it SAH tried to blame us by saying we let her out of the house and that burning occurred somehow that way. We would never let her out of the house after getting her teeth pulled. They reluctlanty took her back and performed surgery which was much worse than the dental work, poor cat. Then they had the nerve to send us a bill for the surgery! They later said we didn t have to pay it. How kind. We never received an apology for the whole affair. Luckily our cat lived through the ordeal but she is not quite the same since. Just a few words of warning for anyone thinking of trusting these so called vetrinarians.

I have been pleased with all my encounters with Steamboat Animal Hospital. They are available on the weekends, and provide all manner of animal care.

I just recently moved here from California. I absolutely love my vet there and had a hard time finding a new one. One of my co workers recommended Steamboat. Right from the first phone call I could tell I was going to love this hospital. My call was answered right away, the receptionist "Becky" was very sweet and helpful. She offered to get me in for an apt that same day for 7pm! I was very surprised to find out that they are open 7days a week with late hours 8pm during the week and 6pm on the weekends. When I got to my apt the receptionist greeted me with a big smile and hello and immediately acknowledged Sophie who was cowering behind me. She got down to her level and offered her comforting words and affection. I was put into an exam room right away with a very brief wait time before the doctor came in. Dr. Cowell was awesome, she did a complete physical exam and recommended some things for my animal. (One of them weight loss! We like to give her treats a little to much.) I walked out of the office very pleased and will come back again when my animals are in need. Since visiting the hospital I have shared my thoughts with many people and heard nothing but positive reviews. I would recommend Steamboat to anyone with pets!

I've been to Steamboat twice in the past year. I felt that the vets were pretty good. The office staff is a little aloof and they sometimes have a long wait time. I would use them again in an emergency, but probably won't go back other than that.

I recently moved to Seattle and wanted to get my dog neutered. I asked the local clinic in Magnolia about the details and price work-up which came to over $500.00. There was no way I could afford this so I drove my dog back to Steamboat. They're estimate was under $100.00 which, according to the aspca web site, is more in the ball park. It was a one day visit and well worth the drive. They even gave him his buster collar for free, which in Seattle they were going to charge me $40.00 for. I will continue to give Steamboat my service even if I have to drive an hour to get there.

I've been a 10 year client of Steamboat animal hospital. The past two years have been bad. Their standard of service is rock bottom. I hope that their standard of care is still good, but I have concerns. To begin with, they never honor appointment times. I show up early to my appointments and wait in the exam room for 30 minutes to an hour. I call ahead to get prescription refills and they never have them ready. They tell me on the phone they will have a Rx refill ready and then I come in and they tell me they can only offer a 10 day supply. This ends up costing me more in bottling fees for the prescriptions than I pay for the drugs themselves. The people in the office are friendly, but ineffectual. Most recently, they left the sample from a blood test sitting on their counter for weeks instead of sending it to the lab for analysis. Oops. I have cut them a lot of slack, but this has been ongoing for over 2 years. I'm done with this vet. Other customers told me they feel stuck because this vet has terrible office management, but is the only one around with enough of the modern equipment. I suggest that others evaluate carefully. Or if you have hours to spend on every vet visit and money to burn on extra fees, you've found the right place.

I love this place. It can get busy, but everyone at the counter is always so patient and kind to all of the animals that come in. Our cat Lionel gets excited when we get in the car because he thinks he's coming to Steamboat! Really caring Dr.s and helpful in emergencies! I recommend them to everyone!
