excellent food

by Don W.

I just got done taking my wife to dinner here and must say I don't know what the other person was talking about the food was good, and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. I guess if you are looking for something that you can gum than they aren't for you, but these are more like what vegetables are supposed to taste like. My pasta was great with all the seafood being tender and the noodles being perfectly al dente. The crab cakes were good, especially for around here with lots of crab and not much filler. The only weak point is the wine list.

PROS: excellent food, in a casual family friendly atmosphere
CONS: limited wine list

I miss Pelicans Restaurant..

by m g.

They took over Pelicans restaurant space, and I am hoping that they would leave asap and Pelican would come back. I had a horrible dining at my first visit , which was my last visit in my entire life to this restaurant. My Lobster was overly cooked and its texture was almost like rubber. It was also overly salted. Salad dressing looked densed like mixed with starch or something - not smooth at all and salad veges looked tired. Waitress in a jersey as if she were just from a gym didn't know Cabernet was red. Veges on the main plate were all mixed up and cut into big dices (hello, this is hard to eat) and over-fried and all looked brown AND COLD. Those who complained Pelicans don't know what the good seafood dining is. I'd be rather happy going to the chain-restaurant Red Lobster which serves greasey pasta and seafood with too much butter than going back to this restaurant. Price was too high for what I got. Restaurant was empty for weekend before a big holiday, and I don't question why. I suggest they change chefs, or switch management.
Here's the bottomline - I think when people have a sense of respect and appreciation to ingredients, it SHOWS. I didn't feel it from this restaurant at all. I didn't enjoy eating over there, and this is the last restaurant I'd recommend.

PROS: server was friendly
CONS: all listed
