this place is famous in California and beyond. They treat you right and set you up right. . They do dyno tuning so few shops do, but it's so important for modern bikes.
They are totally a nerve center for the motorcycle community in the bay area. All the club riders and organizations, even the cops go here. Check it out. F the dealership.

Pros: Super serious about bikes, safety and service

Cons: it's too fun

This place has a Tattoo Parlour, a Cafe, Saturday morning Waffles, Bacon & Mimmosa specials for $7, Beer & Wine, Mike J's famous BBQ on Friday's and Saturday's, A 150" HD Big Screen to watch the races and cool movies on, A 50" HP plasma to play the latest HD viceo games in the Cafe. All this on top of the coolest motorcycle service shop around. The guys running the show are totally righteous - it was built as a tribute to the owners Grandfather. All the guys are the coolest, but make you feel less like a customer and more like a friend. They are the same guys you can see on their Discovery and Speed Channel TV shows (see www.godspeedoakland. u know what for the video clips). The coolest parts & accessories, two service departments; 1 for Harley and 1 for imports - each with the best technicians in the state. Nitrous refills, a Dyno chamber, Powder coating. This place is the coolest local hangout ever! And a must for gearhead supplies. If you haven't been there you are truly missing out!

Pros: The awesome staff and unique all under 1 roof gearhead lifestyle Mecca! Hand built Showroom...

Cons: It was not built sooner!

Oh yeah, I remember that guy (schick415). I used to be a tech at Godspeed. They are a truly first class operation, the only one like it in the world. I had to move to Arizona and hope to come back.

Ralph came in for a service; his Buell needed base gaskets and some other things. He was told that one of the necessary parts for his job was a few weeks out on back-order. He stated that he would wait the few extra weeks and told us to go ahead with the job. We instructed him that someone would call him in a few weeks as soon as the needed part came. He said OK, but then proceeded to call every single day to ask if his bike was done. Are you kidding me? We told you we would call when the parts came in, then the same conversation would have to be had the next day. Alzheimer?s anyone? We should have known? when a new customer?s first words to you are ?I hope my experience here is a good one!? There is usually no pleasing a guy like that.

Anyway, the parts finally came in a few weeks later as promised and the bike was done the very next day. There was also crucially exposed wiring all over his Buell, but he decided to cheap out and not have his tech fix. We shored up a couple of the exposed ignition wires so it would have a better chance of running ? for no charge - and then rode the bike for 15 miles to make sure she was good; she ran like a top.

When he picked-up his bike we told him he was low on gas and should fill up. He later called to complain that his bike stalled on the freeway. We asked if he put gas in it as instructed, he paused and changed the subject to yell. We asked him where he was and were going to jump in the truck with a gas can; we even offered to bring it back to check it out if it needed more than gas. It turns out all he needed was gas. Doe! And now he snipes these righteous guys with a bad review after he pulled a boner and ran out of gas. How chicken sh*t! I hope Karma comes for you soon!

In all my years of experience with automotive and or motorcycle problems, never have I encountered a bike shop as lackluster as Godspeed. A "routine" repair of rebuilding the top end of the bike should take 8 hrs, as numerous other shops have told me. Godspeed decided to let it take 2 months, and then when I called to check on the progress all I ever got was runaround. "In a few days" was the frequent answer, then they told me to quit calling, they would call when it was done. Yes, quite the customer service. After my two month wait, I get the bike back and guess what happens; the bike breaks down on the freeway in the middle of 80 mile an hour traffic. They said it was test driven, but can't really buy that one.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Godspeed like the plague.
