Was there this evening around five in the afternoon with male friend. TO type that the service was bad is an understatement. SERVICE was the pits the server said 3 times I will be right back with some sweet tea, finally returning with tea about ten or so minutes later. Nothing is left on the tables now you have to ask for everything. Bad enough you eat of throw away plates and bowls for your grits but, the whole place could use a really serious CLEANING I MEAN CLEANING. Food was far far below we had onion rings that were soggy, greasy the dipping sauce was the only good thing with that. My friends fries were burned and soggy. The fish I had was less than good and all this was VERY VERY pricey. It is totally amazing to me that they would serve substandard food. 45.00 dollars, for two teas, two dinners and soggy onion rings. This used to be a great place to eat I don't know what has happened but, they have sure dropped the ball. I had told the server the catfish was very muddy tasting first he looked at me like I had lost my mind then mumbled something about getting someone else, who wasn't at all friendly NOR in the least concerned. I finally told her never mind we would leave but, trust me I would let everyone I know KNOW how gross the place was and the service. She just walked off. The server did try to help he did take of one dollar. LOL THE WORSE was the mens restroom was GROSS and stopped up and not able to be used. That is GROSS!! There are men that work there and even if there aren't someone should check the restrooms. To have to pay that much money and be treated as we were was really a shame. I will not return and do my best to see that the people I know don't. I know they have been around for a bit but, gross is gross and nasty is nasty. Someone should check the kitchen makes me wonder how nasty it is there????? Not a warm and fuzzy feeling I only ate part of my meal.

I chose to take my father to The Seinyard while he was in town for a visit. This decision was based purely on word of mouth. It barely lived up to my expectations, much less his. We didn't mind the wait as that is expected on a weekend evening anywhere in this town. What we did mind was paying a costly price for food served on styrofoam plates while sitting in plastic outdoor garden chairs on a concrete slab INSIDE the restaurant. There were containers on every table of tartar sauce that were room temperature. This could pose a serious health risk as they appeared to have been sitting out for a long period of time. The waiter was dumbfounded when I asked for some chilled tartar sauce.

How do you, (server), SUGGEST a meal, then take an order based on YOUR suggestion after consumer tells you of medical concern, repeat the order, then bring the order, then have your customer begin eating order, then have customer ALERT YOU that the order cannot continue to be consumed DUE TO SAME MEDICAL REASONING THAT CONSUMER ALERTED YOU TO PRIOR TO PLACING ORDER, then you AGREE with customer that order does look "different" than it should, then YOU make another suggestion that may make the order consumable, but customer says no it's best to just take the order back, and you then say OK and walk away with the order. But then you walk back to the same customer & proceed to say you'll have to box the order for the customer to take home, because you cannot take the order back? What kind of sense does that make? While I am NOT saying it's the restaurant's "job" to provide medical advice/service, if a consumer alerts staff to an issue PRIOR to placing an order, and then that same same staff member, (server), CHOOSES to make a suggestion, then the server does in my opinion have an obligation to be humane enough to acknowledge this IF a problem arises with the order! I let server know clearly the issue was she had jeopardized my parent and was choosing to lie about it and place blame on my parent. STAY AWAY FROM THE SEINYARD! Let me tell you about the owner(s) too, the male counterpart didn't care about his so-called employee's actions toward my parent, claims put towards me directly, claims put toward my parent directly, disregard given for all the others in my party, no he just cared that his "other customers" in "his" restaurant not hearing what I was "going on & on about" he belted! He just wanted me "out" of there he said. Think I had a problem with that? NO. Yet, rest assure that prior to my leaving I made sure he clearly knew that his so called representative of customer satisfaction, had failed greatly! It was upon getting in my car with my children that I was startled by a lady coming outside with a cell phone in her hand attempting to walk towards the passenger side of my vehicle as I was then backing up to leave, so I put my car in park and asked was there a problem, only to have her say "yes, you might want think twice about leaving MY restaurant without paying first cause the sheriff is on the way". My response, "I'm NOT leaving without paying, there is a responsible party inside that will make sure any amount owed is paid in full and the guy who said he was the owner already knows this". Her response, "Oh, I didn't know that anyone else was with you." I'm by then looking at her like are you serious, were sleeping under a rock while in a coma-state??? I must say that this person did acknowledge that she wasn't privy to what had gone on in the restaurant, so I did apologize to her for yelling at her after she first came out to my car regarding leaving without paying, and I then gave her the play by play about my parent's encounter and subsequently mine with her so-called employee. In my presence she did appear to be not just hearing what I was saying, but also appeared to be listening for understanding of what I was saying. I even became tearful as I talked about how the server treated my parent & the potential health risks involved, and the lady, (who I can only assume is co-owner based upon her assertions that this was "her restaurant), then approached me to gently wipe a tear from my face, and earnestly looked me in my eyes and said she'd definitely look into the matter with the server. I then got back into my vehicle and left.
I JUST AM VERY SHOCKED AT HOW SOME PEOPLE CAN TAKE ANOTHER'S HEALTH CONCERNS AND ISSUES FOR NOTHING, AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THE SERVER OF THE SEINYARD DID AND THE MALE "OWNER" OF THE SEINYARD DID TO MY PARENT. I DO, AT THIS POINT, TAKE EXCEPTION WITH THE FEMALE WHO SAID IT WAS HER RESTAURANT, BECAUSE AT LEAST SHE TOOK THE TIME TO HEAR MY CONCERNS AND SAID SHE'D BE TALKING WITH THE SERVER & ANYONE ELSE INVOLVED. I STILL SAY, THOUGH, TO ANYONE WHO IS CONCERNED ABOUT HIS/HER HEALTH OR THAT OF A FAMILY MEMBER DON'T EXPECT ALL AT THE SEINYARD TO FEEL THE SAME WAY!

I have to confess that I have eaten at Seinyard once about 2 years ago. Not that memorable either way. For some reason, the place gets fantastic "word of mouth" locally. Boy, was my experience different !

My Lady and I dined there last night as part of a party of approx 35-40 people. A sure way to get good service, right ? WRONG !!! We did arrive later than the rest of the party. Our order was taken and then our server dissappeared. As the rest of our party (including another couple that arrived later than us) were almost through, we had not been served.

I walked around to see what was up. Unfortunately, there was no person who looked even remotely in charge. I finally spoke with another server. A lovely lady who was not MY server. Wish she had been. Had she not gotten our order, we would probably still be waiting. The bad part is that this lady looked like the ONLY adult on the wait staff. The rest looked, sounded and acted like a group of high schoolers.

When we did get our food, it was average, at best,
and did'nt have particularly generous portions. 2 entrees, 2 Teas and 1 appetizer came to $ 40.69 !
OVERPRICED ! Needless to say, we did'nt stay for dessert, nor did that figure include a tip. All this would be reason enough to not come back. But the
poor service is the reason that I'm writing this AND
not coming back !

Generations of my father's family grew up on the Gulf Coast, just as I did. Along with that territory comes a palate for sweet tea, 1000 Island dressing, cheese grits, hush puppies and, the reason for it all, fried seafood.

There are close rivals in the area, but The Seineyard (correct spelling) is the one to beat. Though, until they closed down, many a discussion was had over Julia Mae's vs. The Seineyard.

Worth the drive from wherever you are!

The Seinyard Resturant opened in Woodville Fl in the early 90's. On Friday and Saturday nights, the public would be lined up out into the parking lot to get in to eat. Sam and Starr Dunlap decided to expand, and bought a piece of property across the street and are still bursting at the seams. This place is so good that State workers from Tallahasssee drive down 30 miles to eat lunch. Now thats good food. Drop in sometime for a good seafood meal, I know Sam and Starr would love to see you.

PROS: Excellent food, great prices
CONS: Long lines, you may have to wait 30 mins to get seated
