I absolutley LOVE LOVE LOVE the icecream. Everytime I come around there I have to go in and grab a bowl of icecream. And the prices are unbelievable!!! I have never tasted any icecream better than this and trust me I LOVE icecream. I think this is THE best icecream in the country!!! SO creamy, rich and DELICIOUS!!! I live in the northeast section of philadelphia and would love it if they can bring thier icecream over here.
I grew up in the area, so my family made a trip to Tanners every other week to get milk and other things. The best thing is the ice cream, though. The portions are huge, and prices are great. Every time I have the chance to go back when I am visiting, I do. This summer we are taking my daughter there for ice cream and to visit the cows out back! I can't wait!
My parents live in Trenton, NJ and every time we come to visit we would go to Tanners. My families favorite is the chocolate milk and of course, the tastykakes which you cannot get in Tucson, AZ. We always purchase extra chocolate milk and freeze it for days ahead of time, then I take it back to Arizona (the luggage department keeps it cold). Guess what, it's still frozen when we arrive in Tucson, so we have it for several months. My sons, who are all grown up, always ask when someone is coming to visit to bring the milk. Your ice cream is very, very good also, but the milk is the best we've ever had and nothing can compare to it.
The incredible thing about Tanner's is the fact that they give you your money and so much more. The single are like a triple and the doubles are unbelievably huge. It is a great deal. The produce is amazing, especially the corn. The milk is sooooooooooo good. The !1% and the chocolate are amazing. Wish they took credit though.
It's very simple: Tanner Bros. Dairy Store (known to locals simply as "Tanner's") has wonderful ice cream and fresh, delicious produce at the lowest prices around, period. I drive 10 miles to shop there every week and still come out way ahead in savings (that's saying a lot considering today's gas prices). Everything costs significantly less plus you are supporting local farming. It can get crowded but what do you expect from such a great spot? If crowds do stress you out then just head on over to the ice cream bar for some top notch ice cream cone therapy... yum. It just doesn't get any better (or any cheaper) than Tanner's.
Tanners is well known for there ice cream. A single cones comes out like a double, so big and the prices so cheap. Can get very busy in the summer time!!! It is a farm and you can many times see and smell the cows. Can be good if you have children (especially if they have dripping ice cream), they can look at the cows. The also have there own milk, butter, juices and more. Our family has had many of these and they are cheap and tasty (my dad swears they have the best chocolate milk out there). They also have a variety of produce and since they do a good business there it is fresh and nicely priced too! They also have a mini store where you can pick up a variety of items soda is always cheap at under 99 cents for 2 liter. They also have cakes, breads, snacks, and much more. You can special order pies if needed, they are so good. We do that a few times a year including Thanksgiving!!! The parking can be very difficult because it is always busy but well worth it. The people that work there always look like children under 18, they are usually fast and polite. Most lines usually have a bagger which is nice too.
