I love my shellac manicured hands. Rachel she is patiently helped and advised with my color selection. She was sweet as pie, and she took the care and had an attention to detail in her work.

Truly awful. Like the other reviewers have noted, this mani pedi disaster took well over two hours. Nightmare. With a few exceptions, notably the receptionist, the employees were unbelievably rude and incredibly unprofessional. When i walked in the pedicurist was finishing with someone else. They were 5 empty chairs. Without even cleaning up after the other client she tried to direct me to the very same spa chair/basin. I had to ask three times before she consented to give me a clean spa chair and basin. During the pedicure, I noticed that the pad of her finger seemed to be bleeding, WHILE SHE WAS CUTTING MY CUTICLES. I very reasonably and politely questioned her about it (if that's not a reasonable thing to question, then I don't know what is. A HUGE health/hygiene problem) she began loudly scolding me to "just relax and enjoy it!" When it was time for my manicure I was passed off to Ria. She was easily the most unprofessional person there. Two minutes into the manicure she questioned me repeatedly and aggressively about what my phone cost, when I didn't answer she exploded and proceeded to loudly berate me in front of the whole salon and tossed me back to the pedicurist. The peducirist began to work on my hands (finally) but in the course of conversation she made clear that she was not giving me the Lifebooker Loot I had purchased , which included a "gel manicure" which includes uv lights and lasts for weeks. Instead she insisted that I was only entitled to a regular manicure using gel polish, a "non-procedure" which she conceeded would last for maybe 3 days!!I repeatedly explained what I had purchased on lifebooker but she loudly (again with the loudly) refused to honor my lifebooker loot. She specifically and repeatedly told me that I was wrong and they did not even offer such a thing on Lifebooker. I nearly gave in because I just wanted to get out of there. I managed to get up , well over an hour into this nightmare, with nails still unpolished, and get the receptionist involved. Once she established that i was indeed entitled to the full gel manicure, the manicurist began yelling and insisted that she didn't know how to do that. I was passed onto yet another employee. Manicurist #3 was very nice (kathy) but it was hard to enjoy my manicure because I had to listen to Ria bad mouthing me at the top her lungs to her fellow employees. Needless to say this was easily the most mortifying salon experience of my life. This place is so low rent. The work is beyond sub-par. This "salon" is so unprofessional that it truly defies description. Stay away!!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!
I went in 2 Fridays ago for a Mani Pedi I bought on Lifebooker. They give me this new girl that has ZERO skills as a manicurist. She didn?t know what I meant by French manicure. I arrived at 12noon and left at 2pm. In this 2 hour stretch of time I had 3 people working on me. The main inexperienced girl and then two other women to attempt to fix the first girl's mistakes. By the time they had finished, I had maybe 10 coats of paint on my nails. It looked terrible (think playdough on your nails). In addition they kept the paint so far away from my cuticle that it looked like I had at least a week?s worth of nail growth.
I wore flip-flops until 8pm and was extremely careful with my hands. At 8pm I tried on a pair of high heels on for the night, and when I took them off, the paint was completely smudged into thick piles and stuck inside my shoe! There were so many layers of paint that they still weren?t dry 6 hours later! By the time I got home that night my fingernails were all smudged as well. In the morning I took all the paint off because it looked absolutely DISGUSTING!!
I called and complained to the receptionist Joanna. She was very nice and told me no problem and to come in and they?d take care of it. I called this morning and made my appointment for 1pm. I showed up and she tells me it will be $25 plus tip!!?? How the hell is that taking care of it??!! I bought the first shitty manicure and pedicure for $30 and left a $10 tip. How is paying more money a solution!?? I stormed out and they could not have cared less. Joanna acted as if I was some kind a loser that has nothing better to do than to try to BS my way into a free mani and pedi! I just expect that when you pay for a mani pedi and spend two hours in a salon it should last more than 6 hours!!!!!!
This salon is TERRIBLE. They give Lifebooker people that newest girl on the job and then won?t clean up the mess she makes. I have been working in this neighborhood for 5 years and know tons of women that I will warn to never go there.

This spa salon is definitely the cutting edge salon of nyc. The men's haircut I got was very affordable, and I looked like a rockstar when I left.

I had the OPI Axxium Gel Manicure by Gula. What was supposed to be a 45 min appt turned into 2 hours.

So many things not right about this place.

Was told to "take a seat please, thank you" as the salon boy breezed by me. well, can u please clean up the used tissue sitting on the sofa?

Salon boy said i was ready and could sit "over there" . Not sure exactly which chair/table you want me at?

Well she got started and i noticed the tools where not cleaned after the previous client. shame on me. i should have spoken up.

The 1st color i chose looked nothing like it did on the box on my nails. It seemed like she was painting a really thin coat. It looked about 10x lighter than the color on the box and in the polish jar. So i chose another color-she wanted to paint over the 1st color. I made her take it off. When she did the next color, she really painted it on thick which is what i believe led to the ultimate mess of my manicure.

She just kept making so many mistakes. I had to keep asking her to fix and clean the paint she got on my skin, even out the paint, pull the little fuzz from the cotton off the tip of my nail then she would just try to blend it in with the polish. Her response was to "be happy".
It's awkard, constantly telling someone to keep fixing their mistakes.

The real problem happened while my hand was in the UV drier. unfortunately your whole hand doesn't fit straight in the drier, so you have to awkwardly turn your thumb so the light hits it- well the paint started sliding off my nail on both thumbs, so i made her fix them. then she put only my thumbs in in the drier, but with my thumbs in the drier, now my pinky's where sideways and the paint started sliding off of them too. she was able to salvage 1 pinky, but i made her do the other one all over.

So when she's done, she goes to help me with my jacket. i question the dryness of my nails. she assures me they're dry- i assure her they're not when i go to slide my hand in my jacket and i feel my thumb stick to my coat. so i sit through another drying cycle. she tells me she has another client. i tell her i can sit somewhere else to dry. she says i can't cause there aren't any other uv driers.

Well she tells me i'm dry, coat goes on okay, but when i put my hat on, all the fur on my hat stuck right to my thumbs- and you know i was being super careful. So now both thumbs are ruined but i don't want to complain anymore, just wanted to get out of there. My thumbs didn't dry for over 2 hours. and all of the other nails lost all their shine. Not only that but on several nails she painted to my skin, which has now separated itself from the polish.

I had high hopes for the OPI gel, i will give it another chance, just not at this salon.

Chris, who was recommended by my previous hairstylist (at another salon) listened patiently to my dos & don'ts, and made a few suggestions, which I'm soooo happy I listened to. I walked out with a kick in my step, a fabulous haircut, and a new best friend. (The best blowout ever!!!) :o)))))

My hair looks like something out of a commercial EVERY SINGLE TIME I go to see Judy at this place. I've been following her for about 3 years now. Her cut, highlights, and blow-drying skills are beyond phenomenal.

My hair is long and very curly, and she gets it under control. I regret changing jobs as I am now too far away to get my hair done on my lunch hour. But please go and see her...she is something else!

I found this place a few years ago when I really needed a hair cut for a job interview just around the corner. Since then, I've gone every week to get my hair cut.

The front desk people are very friendly, offer me a glass of water or wine if I am waiting for a stylist, and place is beautiful inside.

I've recommended all of my male and female co-workers to this place (I got the job) and I've been told that even they have recommended people.

When I first got my hair cut @ Marc Joseph, I didn't know what to expect as you never know how a new salon venture will turn out, especially in Manhattan. But what I found was a friendly and courteous staff that treated me like family and still do to this day. I'm not one to make appointments due to my ever-changing work schedule, so whenever I call (last-minute!) the staff is always willing to accommodate me. With such a great location in the heart of Times Square, it's a great place to get those last minute details squared away before a night on the town or before heading home through Port Authority, Grand Central, or Penn Station. I recently called last minute to get a haircut, manicure, and pedicure for my special lady and myself and we were taken in effortlessly and in time to make our train up to the Berkshires in Massachusetts for a friends art show that same evening. I recently have gotten the chance to know the owner, Mario Gatti, and he has been in the business for DECADES, so its always interesting to hear his stories about Times Square before Disney took over! Mario is a true artist when it comes to the beauty business and is an expert when it comes to coloring, which explains why his clients have been seeing him for as long as they have. Mario last told me that he is looking to expand the business as well as perform some upgrades so I wish him the best!

There is this hairstylist named Randy who specializes in hair care and chemical straightening. You told me a lot about hair care that I did not know about. My hair came out differently then it normally does when I get it relaxed at the other salons. I love what she did! I will be back to see her! I live in New Jersey but I will see her again for soon! The salon has full service salon.

Eyal can work magic with hair - It took him 25 minutes to wash my hair and give me a blowout, and trust me when I say - I never felt more confident. My hair had great bounce, volume, it was not too over done, and it looked that way for the entire weekend. I read the review below, and went because it is so close to where I work - but he was great, and I am definitely going to be a regular!
